Mercedes Schneider has been reading the archives of the local newspaper in Holland, Michigan, where the DeVos family reigns.
She learned about the brief teaching career of her mother in the local public school.
She learned the name of the school.
She has a picture of the school.
She knows the fate of the school. It was closed, after a century as the heart of the community.
Read her post to learn why it was closed.

Her mother taught long enough to fulfill a deal that could later have been made with TFA, or could back then have been made with Daddy. A too brief career, DeVoid of fulfillment.

Okay. I read Schneider’s piece, which was interesting, but I didn’t find out info about why the school was closed. Did I miss something?

My guess: under enrollment due to charter competition. But that’s only a guess.

It’s a funny piece:
it is not likely that Elsa Zwiep was a public school teacher when DeVos alive, let alone old enough to remember it.
So the “fond memories” of her mother as public teacher rely on events Betsy experienced while in still her mother’s womb. Betsy is an amazing woman.
