Trump has said that he learned about the wiretapping of the Trump Tower by watching FOX News, specifically Judge Napolitano. He saidTrump Tower was wiretapped by British intelligence. When questioned about sources, Trump said, ask Fox News.
Shepherd Smith of Fox News went on air tonight to state definitively that Fox News has no information whatever about any wiretapping of Trump.
Trump stands by his story, even though no one else agrees or offers any evidence.

Trump is that crazy relative whom you hope has no position of real responsibility. That he is his own industry (failing and fraudulent, sad!) is an obscenity and tragedy right there. Being voted president is an incredible atrocity, a seeming anachronism and just such a departure from the ranges of normalcy and even the usual abnormal. It’s like an ongoing Twilight Zone episode whenever you check the news.

I may be wrong, but I think that the sane Republicans (there are a few) have a strategy. Trump gives them power–they control Congress–and they will quietly eviscerate him. Maybe that is just my hope, but watch what happens Monday, when there are hearings about his nutty claim that Obama personally ordered that Trump be wire tapped. Trump has already tried to tap dance around the term “wire tap” by saying he meant surveillance. But even that is a lie. So he swings out and says the Brits did it, because the nutty Judge Napolitano said so. Here is a man with the greatest surveillance machine in the world, and he gets his tips from a commentator on FOX. Even FOX denounced that absurdity. So I have a feeling that aside from those who are paid to support Trump’s lies, the rest of the party is enjoying watching him twist in the wind. They would be happier with President Pence, who may be an evangelical extremist, but he is not nuts.
