The Trump administration offered a budget that would deeply cut the Environmental Protection Agency and the State Department, eliminate the National Endowments for the Arts and Humanities and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, as well as the Legal Services Corporation. There will be cuts to the Department of Education but it is not clear which programs will be hit. The cuts fall heavily everywhere except the military and border defense. There will also be deep cuts to climate research. It seems we will be, under Trump, a garrison state with no culture, other than bugles and drums. And no future either, except as a nation locked in a shell and surrounded by a wall. Some Republicans might find Trump’s cuts hard to accept.
Trump is crazy and has no culture or respect for anyone who isn’t a billionaire. Why does he, and too many people, think that building an expensive wall will help bring back jobs? He is using fear to promote this worthless project.
……………………
Trump wants Congress to shell out $1.5 billion for the border wall with Mexico in the current fiscal year – enough for pilot projects to determine the best way to build it – and a further $2.6 billion in fiscal 2018, Mulvaney said.
The estimate of the full cost of the wall will be included in the full budget, expected in mid-May, which will project spending and revenues over 10 years.
Trump has vowed Mexico will pay for the border wall, which the Mexican government has flatly said it will not do. The White House has said recently that funding would be kick-started in the United States.
Regulations are the first to go
From my links called WRECKING BALL, which I use when I write at Opeed news.

Overthrowing oversight is another way that Trump wrecks what we already have:

and then there are Tax cuts. Trumpcare, doesn’t only take away health insurance coverage for 24 million people, it also provides massive tax cuts for health insurance executive pay. According to new analysis from the Center for American Progress Action Fund, five health insurance companies will receive up to $63 million a year in tax cuts, based on health insurance executive’s 2015 compensation. https://www.americanprogressaction.org/issues/healthcare/news/2017/03/13/166574/trumpcares-massive-tax-cut-health-insurance-executive-pay/?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=progReport
and WRECKING OUR WRK FORCE while promising jobs:
Federal Workforce Early Target of Trump’s ‘Deconstruction’ Era | Portside http://portside.org/2017-03-14/federal-workforce-early-target-trump’s-‘deconstruction’-era In separate actions over a few days, House and Senate Republicans moved to undercut worker due process rights, weaken labor organizations and protect companies with workplace violations affecting contractor employees. The GOP functioned like a well-oiled fighting machine, hitting the workforce on three fronts simultaneously to advance the Trump administration’s top agenda item: “deconstruction of the administrative state.”
Trump is despicable; but he’s not the only one who governs by the limitations of his own horizon. If ever someone asks him: “What is a culture?” imagine what he would come up with. He doesn’t even read. And instead of following some idea of what really constitutes a vibrant culture, we have to rely on a family member’s personal experience, for instance, of being an artist, in order to hope for advocacy for government funding of the arts.
What a ridiculous way to govern.
That Dump is totally psycho. And yes, Catherine, he is indeed DISPICABLE. He’s a moron in chief. And he is illiterate. Wow…we have arrived…AN ILLITERATE BAFOON, who is arrested at the age of two, who lies, throws tantrums, hires his totally wierd family, and has insulted world leaders, and is the predator in chief. I suspects he likes to PLAY DRESS-UP and now he has an arsenal of weapons to dispense as he yells, “I am KING OF THE MOUNTAIN!”
Yvonne Siu-Runyan: Trump becoming president of such a country as this (ignorance at the helm) is like pouring sugar into the gas-tank of a good-running car. It’s functioning cannot last. The new question is only this: How much and how many will he take down with him when this horrible house-of-cards falls? I take no pleasure in asking such a question, and always maintain hope in what we don’t yet know. And those crowds at the rally yesterday made the hair on the back of my neck stand up.
And I never thought I’d think of lawyers and judges as heroic–but there it is.
LOVE THIS ONE!
Susan Lee Schwartz I’m sure I’m not alone in getting neck spasms from all of the head-shaking.
I will not click “Like” for this one either.
Weirdly he’s proposing cuts to the Coast Guard. But not surprisingly he wants to make cuts to FEMA. Bush the dumb bunny also cut FEMA and handed its governance over to incompetent boobs or to people who wanted to dismantle FEMA. And then Hurricane Katrina came along. The GOP is truly a curse on this country.
A powerful and scary image of Trump’s America. Thank you for giving voice to what’s happening.
….a garrison state with no culture, other than bugles and drums. And no future either, except as a nation locked in a shell and surrounded by a wall.
The White House website biography of Melania Trump notes, “With a penchant and passion for the arts, … Melania has thrived on the cultural diversification of New York City.” Yet NEA, NEH, PBS to get zilch.
Have you read the bio at whitehouse.gov?
