John Oliver breaks all my blog rules about cussing, but I forgive him because he explains things so clearly.
In this episode, he explains the Republican effort to replace Obamacare with Trumpcare.
It is a complicated subject, but he makes it comprehensible while being very funny.
Speaking about lying…. here is a good one by Olivia Ward who points out that” Lies do more than debase political debate. Lies are the termites in the house of democracy”
http://billmoyers.com/story/truth-lies-democracy-journalism-age-trump/
They are more than the termites, SLS. They are the maggots, trying to feed off of what they hope is the corpse of democracy.

But my favorite one about how the media turns Trump’s lies into truth…. Don’t miss those:
Oliver’s post is so funny, it’s sad! The Republican plan is a disregard for the health and well being of our citizenry. It creates wealthy winners and poor, elderly and unhealthy losers. Bernie stated it is a huge transfer of wealth from the bottom 98% to the top 2%. The Republican Insurance Plan is aptly named R.I.P. because they don’t care if regular folks live or die.
Well, of course not, rt. If you don’t have enough money to pay a ton for health insurance or medical care otherwise, then the heck with you. 😦
Thank goodness for John Oliver. And SNL. And, sometimes, Bill Maher. I miss John Stewart!
DonTcare 🤢🤒🤕
Plus last Sunday’s show on the topic:
I think this is the very topic where Trump will spectacularly fail. Perhaps they should just let the republicans pass the bill, and within a few months, Trumpists will defect from their Führer’s army.
The fact is that universal coverage is so much in the air that anything less will fail.
Yes to the spectacular failure of Wealthcare! I am thinking that with the over the top “obstructionist” response to President Obama the legislature became so dysfunctional that it will never work together. Also Trump/Bannon/Ryan are too self-glorifying and fanatical to do any of the slow real work attached to compromising.
Mate W and others,
We need to be phoning Reps & Senators for universal healthcare or as a start–lowering Medicare coverage age to 55. So many people lose jobs after age 55 then face high premiums. Now the Repub plan says insurers can charge 5X what younger pay. In NJ, the 3X ACA premium was more than $1,000 per month for a person over 60.

And with the cussing, he expresses our feelings clearly, too.
