Kellyanne Conway told the CPAC meeting of uber-conservatives that she was not a feminist because feminists are anti-male and support abortion.
Merrimam-Webster took the unusual step of tweeting out the correct definition of feminism.

“uber-conservatives”???
No, they are not any type of conservative, they are reactionary regressives. Regressives, like their name suggests, want to MAGA (sic) back to a time that never was and never will be.
Let’s call them for what they really are reactionary regreassives.
Once again,it’s Kellyanns version of the truth or a definition, or whatever…
She is extremely immature. As a feminist she can be against abortion. She just can’t let another person tell her what to be.
If she isn’t a feminist, perhaps she should quit her job and retreat
to the kitchen where she can be barefoot no matter the situation.
In addition to her other faults, Conway disdains women’s rights of conscience and religious liberty on reproductive health matters.
Oops, Kelleyann, there you go again, presenting “alternative facts” or definitions or whatever. Perhaps, Conway felt she had to step up and replace the late Phyllis Schlafly:
It was announced Sunday that longtime anti-feminist Phyllis Schlafly has died at her home in St. Louis at 92.
The conservative icon has a long history opposing women’s rights, equal pay, abortion and the Equal Rights Amendment. Here are 15 quotes that perfectly capture Schlafly’s philosophy on women:
Blaming the Violence Against Women Act for broken marriages:
“When marriages are broken by false allegations of domestic violence, U.S. taxpayers fork up an estimated $20 billion a year to support the resulting single-parent, welfare-dependent families.” – Schlafly, Feb. 2011.
What feminism means:
“And the first commandment of feminism is: I am woman; thou shalt not tolerate strange gods who assert that women have capabilities or often choose roles that are different from men’s.” – Schlafly, “Feminists On The Warpath Get Their Man, Feb. 2005.
Sexual harassment isn’t a big deal:
“Non-criminal sexual harassment on the job is not a problem for the virtuous woman except in the rarest of cases.” -Schlafly before the United States Senate, 1981.
Men are victims in higher ed:
“It’s really dangerous for a guy to go to college these days. He’s better off if he doesn’t talk to any women when he gets there. The feminists are perfectly glad to make false accusations and then claim all men are capable of some dastardly deed like rape.” – Schlafly, “Hatred of Men Gave Rise to UVA Rape Story,” Dec. 2014.
Married women can’t be raped:
“By getting married, the woman has consented to sex, and I don’t think you can call it rape.” – “Schlafly cranks up agitation at Bates” Sun Journal, 2007.
ERA will equal gay rights:
“ERA means abortion funding, means homosexual privileges, means whatever else.” – Schlafly, “A new version of the ERA”. CNN, 1999.
The way men treat feminists:
“Men should stop treating feminists like ladies, and instead treat them like the men they say they want to be.” – Schlafly, “Feminists On The Warpath Get Their Man.” Feb. 2005.
Women in the military:
“Every country that has experimented with women in actual combat has abandoned the idea, and the notion that Israel uses women in combat is a feminist myth.” – Schlafly, “Women Don’t Belong In Ground Combat,” June, 2005.
The War on Men:
“There is a war on men, and [feminists] are very open about it. They don’t conceal it; they brag about it. You read all of their material – they’re always saying they want to abolish the patriarchy. They said that husbands are not necessary in a marriage, they’re not necessary in raising children.” – Schlafly, “Hatred of Men Gave Rise to UVA Rape Story,” Dec. 2014.
On comprehensive sex education:
“Sex education classes are like in-home sales parties for abortions.” – Schalfly, Feb. 1997.
Other strange quotes:
“The atomic bomb is a marvelous gift that was given to our country by a wise God.” – Schlafly, “Women are the Best Warmakers”. The Day, 1982.
“Minors are an intended audience for the highly profitable sex industry. Impressionable teenagers are easily persuaded to have abortions, and homosexual clubs in high school are designed for the young.” – Schlafly, “Activist Judges Rule for Special Interests,” Sept. 2004.
“It is long overdue for parents to realize they have the right and duty to protect our children against the intolerant evolutionists.” -Schlafly, “Time to End the Censorship,” Dec. 2004.
“Many professors are Marxists or other varieties of radicals who hate America.” – Schlafly, “Feminist Mischief on College Campuses,” April 2005.
“People think that child-support enforcement benefits children, but it doesn’t.” – Schlafly, “Federal Incentives Make Children Fatherless,” May, 2005.
Phyllis S. (auto correct keeps changing her last name to Scholarly, ha, ha, ironic) died September 5, 2016.
Conway is channeling her inner Phyllis S./Rush Limbaugh (who refers to feminists as femi-Nazis).
Thanks for the sample of quotes from the late and still influential Phyllis Schlafly. In no small measure, her views are those of Trump’s base of evangelical believers in the principle that women must be subordinate to men and that the Bible is the only source of moral authority and truth.
So a Biblical theory of evolution with dinosaurs riding in Noah’s ark, all demonstrated in replica format in an “educational park” in Kentucky is marketed as truth, TRUTH.
And Phyllis Schlafly might approve.
“It is long overdue for parents to realize they have the right and duty to protect our children against the intolerant evolutionists.
Poor Phyllis, a devout crusader against gays. Her own son was gay. Divine justice indeed.
What a DITZ!
Merriam-Webster will probably be added to the list that’s enemies of the people. Will we be reading Tweets by the Malignant Narcissist in the White House sent at 3:00 AM about this latest terrorist threat to freedom because it isn’t based on alternative facts?
Glad Merriam-Webster is keeping the public aware of what terms actually mean.
Perhaps K Conway thinks there is a “Bowling Green feminism”?
Donald Trump and Betsy DeVos still can’t locate a single good public school:
https://twitter.com/usedgov?lang=en
I know none of them went to public school but one would think with 4200 federal employees and an entire entourage of SUV’s they could track one down.
It’ll be tough to rescue all these public school kids from their failing, dead end government schools and enroll them all in private schools. They better “scale up” as they say in the business world. Does the school Trump went to take vouchers? Gosh, I hope so. They’re gonna need “seats”.
C,
Per Wikipedia, New York Military Academy, which Trump attended, filed Chapter 11 in March 2015. It was acquired by Chinese investors and re-opened Nov 2015.
Wonder if Trump Foundation ever donated to NYMA?
For Merriam-Webster:
DeVoucher (n.) the preferred way of right-wingers to end public service
Like!
“I myself have never been able to find out what feminism is; I only know that people call me a feminist whenever I express sentiments that differentiate me from a doormat or a prostitute.”
~~ Rebecca West, 1913
Ms. Conway has stood on the shoulders of the giants of feminism and dug her high heels into their backs as a “thank you”. She is so misguided and such a hypocrit. I agree she is the shadow of Phyllis Schaffley. How sad is that in this day and time?
Merriam-Webster is no match for the Conway-Twitter* New World Dictionary of Alternative English
*Not to be confused with the country singer Conway Twitty
How bad do you have to get before you get the dictionary mad at you? 🙂
