Diane: this may be of interest to you and others here. It’s videos and a letter to Obama from professionals in the fields of mental health with the 9 DSM criteria for “narcissistic personality disorder” all of which are manifest in Trump’s ongoing behaviors:

Fantastic;

I fear that now too many people now perceive intellectualism, scholarship, academia as political correctness. Post-truth is believed, not facts.
It is interesting to me that George Orwell’s book 1984 is now flying off the shelves as not seen in years. Double speak et al. is feared.
Here is a petition being signed by Brits to prevent Trump from visiting the UK in any official capacity and embarrassing the Queen. Almost 500,000 signatures.

Reince Priebus announced that people with green cards will be allowed in. Four years of chaos ahead.
Diane: They are obviously making this up as they go along–testing the waters, so to speak, which is why as Rachel Maddow says: PRESSURE, PRESSURE, PRESSURE.
The law takes time, but it will catch up–that is, if terror doesn’t take over the national consciousness first.
CBK: amateurs in charge.
If Trump ignores a court order with out seeking a stay first, he is in violation of the constitution and subject to impeachment . That certainly raises to a higher level than lying about oral sex in the White House.
The only question here is, Are there any Republicans who are not willing to be complicit in tyranny and treason.?
It will take many more legal, ethical and moral missteps and at least two years before any Republicans will shift. Look at the time lags that occurred with McCarthyism and Watergate before change happened. Even with Iran-Contra, most Republicans stuck with the party line. It takes time and resistance has to be maintained while no results are forthcoming.
GregB: I’m watching the news at the White House as we speak. I think Bannon et al have wakened a sleeping giant. (Historical reference intended.)

I was thinking of posting Yamamoto earlier today .
I agree the level of protest and dissent is unprecedented. This is not disappointment that Clinton lost, this is revulsion that an election was stolen by a demagogue fascist and a minority whose agenda is diametrically opposed to the interests of the majority of American people.
Although it took 7months for the Senate to start an investigation and 2 years till the resignation. By 1973 the anti war movement and Vietnam war were essentially over for the US .
I suspect had the war still been raging and hundreds of thousands still been on the streets that process would have been dramatically accelerated. As for Reagan there was no popular resistance at that point.
The enthusiasm for these protests is in stark contrast to the lack of support for Clinton. The success of these protest will be in their ability to grow and sustain. I do believe Maddow said something like that, this evening. We are in uncharted territory politically thus constitutionally.
Spring is comming and the ground hog may not see his shadow..
