I think he should. If he doesn’t, how will we know if his decisions are made for the nation or to fatten his bank account?
A friend sent this note:
“If you want to support Senator Warren’s request to audit President-Elect Trump’s finances for conflicts of interest, the woman who answered the phone at the Comptroller General of the Government Accountability Office said the most effective way to be sure my support counted was to email two administrators, Katherine Siggerud and Timothy Minnelli. Their email addresses are siggerudk@gao.gov, minellit@gao.gov. There is a third email, congrel@gao.gov, through which they are tracking people who were urging support for an audit.
You can send one email addressed to:

Subject line: Re: Audit for President-Elect Trump’s financial concerns
Dear Ms. Siggerud and Mr. Minnelli,
I’m writing in support of Senator Elizabeth Warren’s request for an audit of our incoming President-Elect Trump’s finances, to prohibit conflicts of interest that would prevent him from carrying out the responsibilities of the office without corrupt influence.
Sincerely,
—
Thanks so much. I’ll be sending my email soon. Everything he does will be to benefit him and his family and friends . It will be open season on the pocketbooks of American citizens.
I think Obama should make his last steps in office walking over to the IRS ordering Trumps file and releasing it to the public. Right before he declassifies any intelligence on Trump connections to Russia or the FBI. Then he can use the republican tactic of pardoning himself for any and all offenses.
I cannot believe that anyone would even try to argue that he SHOULDNT disclose ALL conflicts of interest. He has his hands in so many money making ventures, and that also includes ventures he has set up for his wife, or at least attempted to( read on the skin care line debacle). He should be showing all forms of income, and absolutely needs to divorce himself from these ventures. We are not talking about book writing royalties, we are talking about the liklihood of foreign affairs being decided based on his personal economic interest. That does not even address the further conflict of interest of his adult children, their aparent security clearance and also in the case of Ivanka’s own business dealings and her sitting in on various foreign calls/visits with absolutely no shame whatsoever is mind boggling. There is already questionable relations brewing between him and the madman of the Phillipines,Duarte, due to his busimess interests there. He allegedly condoned the way they are handling the drug dealers with cold blooded murder? We could go.all. day. discussing the problems and potential ( and likely) problems from his egregious conflicts of interest.
Then,we learn Melania is involved in a gratuitous lawsuit against a blogger from the daily caller. This is what our country has come to? A litigious tyrant coming for our first ammendment with a vengence- and just wait till inauguration day. Instead of taking the dissent of protesters like a big boy, his handlers have hoarded the permits from all the major spots for up to a month- so do not expect to see any dissenting voices on inauguration day- despite the fact many will have to be there illegally, the MSM will likely show us only Trump approved footage- so when even “W” took protests against him with grace and maturity, which we got to see on the news, this ego maniac will not only attempt to silence it but likely have it blocked from view. Sounds a bit like North Korea does it not? The Women’s March on Washington is slated for the next day,and it was looking like quite an event brewing- now they are facing the permit problems. What have people done?
As the Bill Gates’s education agenda was implemented (substantially, through the U.S. Dept. of Education), he was not required to disclose.
The U.S. is an oligarchy. Transparency is a pale substitute for fidelity to a government of the people, by the people and for the people.
He should have done this before he was elected, along with releasing his taxes. But no one held him accountable for anything while he was running for POTUS, and no one is holding him accountable for anything now.
If trump has actually filed taxes, doesn’t the IRS have those records? And if so, can’t we request them to be released from the IRS? BEFORE, that is, the fascist powers take over and no one can do anything that they don’t want us to do?
In the interest of holiday harmony, might I suggest you let Trump go for a couple days? Trump is Trump. We knew that all along. For whatever reason, he is now slated to be our president. Fussing about things that aren’t going to happen isn’t helping. I’m all about uniting to stop whatever heinous policies he might implement in office. Let’s focus our energy there.
Merry Christmas
Dienne,
I believe in holiday harmony. But I will never let up on this fraud who won a rigged election. He wants to destroy our hopes and ideals. No holiday on fighting against this right wing freight train.
Well said. Thank you Diane!
🙂
Thanks for the e-mail addresses. I sent a request for the audit.
Me too.
I don’t believe Trump even understands the meaning of the words “conflict of interest.” I think an independent auditor should go over his taxes to determine where the conflicts are. As for Trump he only sees the world in terms of business and monetization. I don’t think he sees anything as a conflict. From his perspective, he believes he is just doing business.
Do we need to agree with Trump’s rendition of “business as usual” regardless of his financial interests? It’s in the U.S. Constitution, for God’s sake.
Trump will not separate from his business empire because no one will make him. He will violate the law, the Constitution, and tradition because he is the king. Giuliani told him that the president is not subject to conflict of interest laws.
Now we find out if Republicans believe in the Constitution
Diane: I am wondering what happened to the thread about the below disappear?
Why Does the White Working Class Vote Against Its Own Interests?

I’ll be sending my request to those email addresses. Thanks for posting them. We need to hammer away at Trump nonstop.
Not ONLY his conflicts of interest
but
his TAX returns also. THAT would tell a lot = maybe some things we still do not know about this demagogue.
Posted this to pantsuit nation but had trouble with the third email address.
President Trump already started to serve his country before sitting in White House without pay and will continue serving his country without pay. All his cabinet members will do the same without pay. The country has been changing dramatically and positively under his leadership already. If these are not enough to show that his interest is purely for the benefit of his beloved country, then watch his next step closely. Hope everyone participates and contributes to your country instead of watching and criticizing.
Danny,
Who told you that the Cabinet is serving without pay? That may be true of the billionaires but some–not a lot, but some–are not billionaires. Also, serving without pay is not a mark of accomplishment, nor indication of knowledge. Do you think Dr. Carson is best choice to run government housing programs? Do you think Scott Pruitt is best steward of the environment?
**Dear Danny Vermette: If it weren’t morally reprehensible, I’d give up getting my salary of $1:00 through the front door, to get $40,000 through the backdoor too.
