There is something about the MAGA movement that is corroding the moral and ethical standards of our country. Evidence occurred when two members of the Capitol Police who defended the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, appeared before the Pennsylvania legislature recently. Some members of the GOP booed; some walked out.
What kind of lawmakers are they? Don’t they take an oath to defend the U.S. Constitution? Did they want the mob to seize the Capitol and take hostages? Did they want the mob to hang Mike Pence? Does the oath allow disgruntled people to try to overthrow the government?
No, this is what the Pennsylvania Constiturion says:
"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support, obey
and defend the Constitution of the United States and the
Constitution of this Commonwealth and that I will discharge the
duties of my office with fidelity."
The Washington Post reported:
Two former law enforcement officers who defended the U.S. Capitol from rioters during the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection were jeered by state GOP lawmakers as they visited Pennsylvania’s House of Representatives on Wednesday, according to several Democratic lawmakers present.
Former U.S. Capitol Police officer Harry Dunn and former sergeant Aquilino Gonell were introduced on the floor Wednesday as “heroes” by House Speaker Joanna McClinton (D) for having “bravely defended democracy in the United States Capitol against rioters and insurrection on January 6.”
As the two men — both of whom were injured by rioters on Jan. 6 — were introduced, the House floor descended into chaos. According to Democratic lawmakers, several GOP lawmakers hissed and booed, with a number of Republicans walking out of the chamber in protest.
“I heard some hissing and I saw about eight to 10 of my Republican colleagues walk out angrily as they were announced as police officers from the U.S. Capitol on January 6,” state Rep. Arvind Venkat (D) said in a phone interview Thursday. “I was shocked and appalled,” he added. According to Venkat, the commotion lasted about five minutes. Fewer than 100 lawmakers, evenly divided between Republicans and Democrats, were present in the chamber before the chaotic scene unfolded, he said.

I don’t consider myself especially patriotic, but the booing of these two officers brought me to tears. They nearly died, working to assure the safety of our electeds without heed to party. The PA GOP members who did this betray their oaths and our nation.

So, the Republicans are, causing the country to become, divided again, and, the corrupt political party, is, backed up by those, blind supporters, who, follow them, and, if this is, what the, “free world” looks like, would those places with the dictatorship be, better? I mean, this would be what, democracy means, to this, cult, and, there’s nothing that the, big machine of United States can, do about it, especially when it now, looks like that, Trump is, more than, likely to, win the, elections, as there are NO laws in the American Constitution that prevent a CONVIVTED felon, to run for the, presidential, office.

Those who booed and jeered and/or walked out revealed they are Traitor Trump loyalists and traitors, all.
How about starting a Role of Shame (or a more accurate title) listing all names of those who earn that deplorable distinction?
“Fewer than 100 lawmakers, evenly divided between Republicans and Democrats, were present in the chamber “
“about eight to 10 of my Republican colleagues walk out angrily as they were announced as police officers from the U.S. Capitol on January 6“
So, about 50 Republicans and 50 Democrats were present.
About 20% of elected Republicans (less than 10% of the total from both parties combined) walked out while making rude noises.
This is what I learned. Traitor Trump’s loyal, deplorable traitors to the US Constitution who are elected Republicans makes up about 20% or less of the GOP, that matches about how many voters are also blindly loyal to Traitor Trump.
That small faction makes a lot of noise and uses threats to get what they want from other elected Republicans who are mostly all cowards now because those with courage have been driven from the party.

These jeering louts are likely the same people that vote to keep fleecing tax payers for cyber charter schools in PA.

given that the nature of political discourse now is focused only on what is wrong with the opponent, it is hardly surprising that political theatre would look like this. It’s not good, but it is expected.

A corrupt political party, it interprets the constitution, based off of how the, clasuses benefit its own, means, turns and, twists the, beliefs of, the, founding fathers, misinterprets, the, words, to, make the amendments, work in, its, favor, and, if that still won’t work, the members, simply, rouse up a crowd, and, take over the, legislature, and, chances are, there won’t, anything done to these, people’s, misbehaviors, as, the, legislative and the, judiciary branches are now, CONTROLLED by, the, corrupt, political party, and, next stop, the Republicans are, aiming for control of, the, Executive, branch, and then, ALL branches of the government, will be, under the, authoritarianism of, the, Republican Party, and, the freedom of “we the people”, goes, OUT the, window…and, there’s nothing anyone can, do about it, as “we the people”, voted these, power-abusing, politicians into, office.

Wasn’t the Republican Party the Law-and-Order, Blue-Lives-Matter crowd?
And if so, what the hell happened here, and elsewhere?

Officer Harry Dunn recently lost his primary bid for Congress in a deep-blue Maryland district. Although I’m confident that the victorious candidate will be a fine center-left Congresswoman, I’m a few bits bummed.

Good for him for running. There is still a lot for him to do like go out and make sure his opponent wins in November. Nothing is ever certain these days.

So now Russia RepubliQans jeer and boo officers of the Law who protected the sanctity of our elections and democracy; officers that protected THEM as they scurried like rats on a sinking ship to safety. What a disgrace! The GOP has been hollowed out of any humanity and has been replaced by a snarling narcissistic toddler hell-bent on degrading and demeaning every norm and institution of American life.

Failed strategies…When you earnestly believe you can compensate for a lack of agency by increased wordiness, there’s no end to what you can’t change. Words speak louder than actions??? It’s not what you do that counts, it’s what you say???

And not because people respond, typically, to argument. They do respond to frequently encountered social sanction, both good and ill.

My theory as to why young people are so nonracist: a) they encounter people of other races more online, and b) when they say something racist, others pile on, and they soon get the message. Most of them.

Donald Trump’s appeal stems in large part because he gives his followers permission to be their very worst selves. He has succeeded because he’s a giant Id.

It is time for those who violate their oaths of office to be removed, starting with Scott Perry and Ronnie Jackson. Whatever the procedures are, brave patriotic servants of the People must initiate an appropriate response instead of just rolling their eyes at the crazies. Get them out, let the Peoples’ business proceed and traitors can spend however much of the rest of their lives they care to spend in appealing the removal.
