Didn’t know the NPE Action Fund was supporting Bernie. Glad I haven’t sent my donation yet.
The NPE Action Fund has not endorsed any presidential candidate.
Debora as a non-Bernie supporter I think you could probably support that letter — please read it. It’s actually worded in a way that would not preclude your signature even if you support Hillary (or another???). Even if you don’t support Sanders, urging him to wake up and pay attention to what’s happening in the Education sector will behoove absolutely every single one of us, partisan support aside.
Good for the NPE. A similar message should be sent by NPE, if it hasn’t gone out already, to Hillary since the AFT and the NEA can’t be expected to as they endorsed her early on and must have been satisfied with her positions on K-12 public education, whatever they might be.
Go NPE . . . . !
Agreed!
Just in case some have forgotten, the BATS had a meeting with Sanders, or was it him and some of his staff? a while back that lasted for about 1/2 HR. They covered a lot of ground and the BATS were pleased when the meeting was done. It would be very useful to liaison with them to get refreshed on what he conversation was. And, my usual caveat, this is politics, a political campaign we’re dealing with here, not the actual construction of policy. The strategy and tactics that may be needed during a campaign do not necessarily have anything to do with what policy will look like after an election.
“The strategy and tactics that may be needed during a campaign do not necessarily have anything to do with what policy will look like after an election.”
Plain English: “I’ll say what I need to get elected and then do whatever the hell I want when in office.”
As per your comments, Duane, I don’t think the latter applies to Bernie. I have been following his record and actions for years. When I’ve said, “I wish so-&-so would run for president,” that so-&-so has always been Bernie or Elizabeth Warren. I couldn’t be nay happier that Bernie decided to run. Trust me, Duane (& you know me!), Bernie is the real deal, & I’ve been working on his campaign with so many like-minded, committed people.
Bernie 2016!
Hi señior DuaneSwacker:
Your interpretation will be absolutely true ONLY WITH ADDING words at THE END, like:
“…in office, according to my past action, my background of what I have done, did and do, and my path of the process of my plan, strategy from my trusted adviser.” May.
I agree with the letter but I think it is about a month or two too late to matter. This same letter sent earlier may have made a significant difference. Tomorrow (March 15th) is Sander’s last chance to stay in this election. He must win Illinois and Ohio. If you are a public education advocate, I don’t think there is a clearer choice for this election than Bernie Sanders.
Someone yesterday posted a SUPERLATIVE blog on exactly what Bernie said in an interview about education. That should clarify a lot about his stance on education
and
again, I would urge people to look at the totality of his message and its effect on EVERYONE, including our children, posterity and yes our public schools.
I posted today my views on climate change, something that he has said is the most important issue of our time, along with 97% of the world’s best climatologists.
THAT, the media does not talk about nor ask about but think about it in depth.
THEN decide for whom you will vote.
Great! Now Invite HIM to talk at the NPE!
