I have been informed by people who live in the Buffalo area that the report about Cuomo’s imminent indictment does not come from a reliable source.
I fell for it because the U.S. Attorney Preet Bahrara has taken out two of the three most powerful politicians in the state: Sheldon Silver, speaker of the Assembly, who was convicted of several felonies involving money; and Dean Skelos (and his son), who was leader of the State Senate, who was indicted but has not yet gone to trial.
One of the key figures in the Albany scandals was a real estate developer who made campaign contributions and received tax breaks from the state. His company is called Glenwood Management.
If you google “Cuomo” and “Glenwood,” all sorts of unsavory articles pop up, like this one. And this one. And this one.
I keep looking for real action we can take to push back against the destruction Cuomo has wreaked on our schools. Maybe this is a way to do that?
What organization can we support in digging deeper and connecting the dots we know are there to be connected?
Cuomo has a sinister agenda in New York. It’s time to expose it.
I tried – and will keep trying. http://publicschoolscentral.com/2015/06/12/governor-cuomo-and-public-education-wall-street-conservatism-milton-friedman-and-the-third-way-of-governance/#comments
Herer is a link that tries to expose Cuomo. Check the date! https://dianeravitch.net/2014/10/28/cuomo-promises-more-charter-schools-tougher-teacher-evaluations-after-election/
Transparency project might dig deep. Where there’s smoke…
A Cuomo indictment would have been the best holiday gift of all …….. : – (((
“The Silicon Valley way of philanthropy also demands more control over where the money is spent, though it remains to be seen if this hands-on formula will be successful.
By using a limited liability company instead of a nonprofit corporation or foundation, the Zuckerberg family will be able to go beyond making philanthropic grants. They will invest in companies, lobby for legislation and seek to influence public policy debates, which nonprofits are restricted from doing under tax laws.”
Someone should start a civics class for middle schoolers that tells them how to navigate in a country completely owned by a small group of billionaires.
You would have to teach them the corporate form, non-profit organization and limited liability companies rather than “Congress” or “the executive branch” or “participatory democracy” but they really are going to need new information to understand this new quasi-government structure.

Buffalo Chronicle seems to be a political blog based on hearsay, rumor, and speculation only, the “I Know A Guy Who Knows….” blog. Like TSN reporting hockey trade rumors in Canada, this seems to be the same type of setup only dealing with politics. That’s not to say Cuomo isn’t in Bharara’s sights whatsoever. He’s slayed 2 of the “three men in the room” and according to that procedural logic, these two were stepping stones to build the case that will ultimately bring Cuomo down. It’s coming. Maybe that partly explains Cuomo’s rumored concession on the APPR to pacify some of his enemies. Should that be the case, don’t back down. Full throttle ahead. New York, along with California and Michigan, were revered as three states to have excellent public education systems. Now those three systems are in tatters, New York still having a semblance of its former self still alive, albeit with a very slow and faint pulse. But it’s Cuomo and his benefactor billionaires that have seriously undermined a once-awesome public education system and someone must pay for such disregard, disrespect, ignorance, arrogance, and presumptuousness, not to mention the flagrant disregard for the damage done to livelihoods–students, parents, and teachers. GO PREET BHARARA!!!
Totally irresponsible. You should be ashamed of yourself.
Exactly, John. But she’s not.
“It’s hard to tell what the theory of action behind the latest ESEA bill is. As far as I can tell, the only accountability–such as it is–is targeted at the bottom 5 percent of schools. Even in those schools the interventions are weak, but the bill has no real ambitions to improve outcomes for students in the remaining 95 percent of schools.”
I love how ed reformers just discovered this “movement” does nothing to “improve public schools” although every single one of them who is an elected official presented “reform” as about “improving public schools”.
Anyone who has had children in a public system over the last 15 years could have told them that.

“who was convicted but has not yet gone to trial.” I imagine you likely meant “indicted” rather than “convicted”?
Engr: you are so right
Fixed it
That’s what happens when I blog at 1 am
I have a feeling Cuomo has been and will continue to be investigated and a case is being built against him behind the scenes. Lets face it…his loyalties to the 1% have been pretty blatant and his motives transparent. Anyone who has fought so hard to ruin pubic education so publicly with his ties to big money is clearly using the “pay to play” dynamic. The last thing I can say without totally going off the rails is….and his brother Chris is so much better looking too.
“I have been informed by people who live in the Buffalo area that the report about Cuomo’s imminent indictment does not come from a reliable source.”
How reliable are the people who live in Buffalo who say that?
Is this one of those infinite regressions?
“Unreliable Sources”
Some unreliable sources
Have said it’s unreliable
As Mr Ed the horse says
The source is undeniable
Well maybe you should just throw this advice to the wind and go with MATTHEW RICCHIAZZI on this one. Don’t look him up or check into any of his antics. Sounds to me like he has the inside scoop.

When the feds went after the Mafia, the most difficult person to send to prison was the mafia don because he has middle management keep the crimes directly away from him unless the FBI can get the middle management to turn on their boss—to make a deal for a smaller prison sentence or a life sentence instead of the death sentence.
