It is funny to see the big-money corporate types behind Governor Dan Malloy criticizing Jonathan Pelto as a “spoiler.” These are the same people who love school choice. They just don’t like voter choice.
The Hartford Courant says quite rightly that Pelto is playing by the rules.
This is democracy, Governor Malloy and friends.
Jon Pelto is standing up for teachers and parents and everyone else who is not in the 1%.
Good for him!
Go Jon Pelto! I would vote for him if I could.
If anyone is spoiling Dan Malloy’s candidacy, he has only to look in the mirror to find the culprit. Alienating key elements of one’s constituency and then petulantly demanding their continued support because the candidate of the Republican party will be even worse is not a winning strategy.
That sovereignty lies with the people was self evident to Jefferson, Franklin and Adams. It was only George III who failed to see that reality.
“DINO Dan” Malloy thinks all he needed to do to get reelected was to show up for work for the last four years. I will be voting for Pelto and am talking as many people as I can into doing so as well.
Dannel is the spoiler as he destroys our state each day.
I pray for MORE politicians like Pelto – all of them, in fact!!
I curse most politicians not like Mr. Pelto . . . .
At last, a candidate one can believe in!
What a lot of fun, composing a 140 character tweet for that story!
Ok, I didn’t see an Arne story in here but I was so excited that this article was in my local paper (small town IL) that I had to post it somewhere on here: http://www.nwherald.com/2014/07/07/nea-wants-duncans-resignation/amjtl86/
YEAH! finally.
Protesting election mechanics is a poor substitute for getting a better platform that Mr. Pelto and his supporters could get behind. If Mr. Malloy cannot convince enough people to vote for him, then that’s on him.
Actually, it’s probably all to the better that Malloy makes noise (especially whining!).
The more attention that is drawn to Pelto, the better for him–he will be noticed and looked into by more and more voters. And the Courant is giving him good press as a result. Keep it up, Malloy–with more attention drawn to Jonathan, he CAN win!
