I posted about a week ago about efforts by members of Teach for America to open a charter school in rural Cheatham County in Tennessee.
The Cheatham County school board voted to deny the application for the Cumberland Academy Charter School, 5-0, with one member absent.
So now TFA, with its billionaire backers, will find some kids there to bring a suit for school choice cuz TFA wants it a charter, there, and will not let it go. Watch; they’ll do SOMETHING.
I think you are right, Donna. The DEFORMERS have a lot to lose….$$$$$ and privilege.
As Krazy TA quoted from Vergara yesterday:
citing a 2007 CA DOE document, “underqualified, inexperienced, out-of-field, and ineffective teachers and administrators”
underqualified, inexperienced, out-of-field
That pretty much sums up TFA. The word is out, and the jig is up.
Glad to hear it.
The Take From America scammers wont give up, but this is a good sign nonetheless.
Why Jim Jeffords left the republican Party due to NCLB
This good news is not surprising. Even if the BOE had voted to approve the charter, the county commission holds the purse strings. About two or three years earlier, the BOE approved building a new high school. But that’s as far as it went, and the school was never built. Congratulations to Ms. O’Neill and others on blocking the prospect of these highly unqualified TFA amateurs from playing school with tax payer money.
Would those precious TFA’er really want to live in small town TN?
They would only be there for a year or two and then they would move on to the next “leadership” position in Washington.
