“Here’s the trailer for “Rise Above the Mark”. If you click on YouTube’s name, right-hand lower corner of the video’s frame, that will take you to YouTube where you may also watch the other two, longer trailers for this documentary.”
Need link, please.
The two things that you say in this video really strike a cord for me. Honestly I don’t think either statement could be any more true. life isn’t about the right choice and the wrong one, there are usually tons of possibilities, it really is never black and white. When you said “We have to recognize that public education has accomplished incredible thins in this country.” I don’t think we could be any more on the same page. Testing is ruining schools, its ruining teaching, and most of all its ruining education.
I cannot wait to see this documentary.
Agree 100%
“Testing is ruining schools, its ruining teaching, and most of all its ruining education. ”

Who is making the decisions for our children? Get involved in your schools and hold politicians accountable for the lack of real learning, lack of innovation, and lack of joy in schools today.
Ask you kids, “What did you do in school today?” How many times will they say, “We took or practiced for a test?” Or how many times will they say, “Nothing.” Because nothing memorable happened?

Who do you want to make a decision about your child? Would that be your child’s teacher? Chances are, those decisions are not theirs anymore.
Get involved in your schools. Visit. Ask: “Is my child learning through authentic work? projects? Or is my child drilled and practiced in taking a test?”
These experts are educators who see the ruin of public education — and want more for your child and our students than just test prep. We want innovators, problem-solvers, independent thinkers, and dreamers who will be ready for their future.
Please get involved.

Very exciting clips!
I’ve always thought one piece of data only was needed to refute all this hornswaggle about a failed education system. People from the world over had at least at one recent time all been wanting to pile on from across the globe into our schools of higher education. How could it be said we were so badly failing? period.
It’s very exciting to see people creating an environment with that sort of enthusiasm for learning. What a difference to see…
