John White, Louisiana State Superintendent, announced that he was recalling all confidential student data from inBloom, the massive data warehouse funded by the Gates Foundation with $100 million.
Is this for real? Time will tell.
Parents in the state loudly protested the release of their children’s identifying information to the data warehouse, which was developed by Rupert Murdoch’s Amplify. Murdoch’s News Corporation is under investigation in England for hacking into people’s cell phones and computers. The most egregious case, which he settled for an undisclosed amount, involved hacking into the cell phone of a dead girl, in hopes of getting information about her killer.
Meanwhile, New York State still plans to turn confidential student data over to inBloom. Parents should ask State Commissioner of Education John King why he is still intent on doing something that is clearly an invasion of student privacy.
Whose interests are served?
Is this about helping entrepreneurs direct sales pitches to children?
Exactly why does the nation need this warehouse?
Is chronic lying a requirement to become a TFA “leader”?

In White’s Thursday, April 18, 2013, email to Beebe, he writes that he has been in contact with InBloom about rescinding the Louisiana data sharing agreement. However, regarding the Monroe News-Star article published earlier Friday, the following message from InBloom was on Twitter the same evening, April 19, 2013:
57inBloom @inBloomEdu 2h
.@frankcatalano @audreywatters Louisiana still part of inBloom community. Many inaccuracies in coverage
Could White have– gasp– lied about canceling the MOU with InBloom?
It certainly looks that way.
It seems that White’s stellar announcement is nothing more than a ruse to quiet the public and buy him some time in order to figure out how he might hide the contents of the InBloom MOU from Beebe and from public view.
Why, he has probably already spent hours engrossed in phenomenal email flurry trying once again to muddy yet another narrative.
That MOU must really be quite the enlightening read.
As Lee Barrios notes, “White is in a whole lot of trouble.”
I think so, too.
Traditional children’s song: “Naughty kitty cat, you are very fat. You have butter on your whiskers. Naughty kitty cat.”
Why is it acceptable to keep data on our children, but a violation of our rights to have background checks and, god forbid, a national registry for guns? I don’t get it.
RTTT is a stimulus program masquerading as reform….as Sheila Kaplan has said: Kiddie data is for sale.
They hide behind the inbloom non profit to boost the profit making Wireless Generation/Amplify/Escholar and any other educrap stalking our children.
The techies believe this helps teachers and it personalized learning. They are clueless.
They don’t understand, and they don’t want to, that teaching and learning are human experiences based upon trust, connections and compassion. They can’t recreate that with data, devices, tablets and spread sheets. May this be another eduflop and I believe it is destined for failure.
They do not believe that any of this helps teachers or personalizes learning. That’s just what they say to convince people to go along with it. The fact that they do not subject their own children to what they are imposing reveals that these ‘reformers’ are nothing but frauds.
This is the beginning of InBloom (Amplify by any other name), 2012: http://tinyurl.com/9chsyeo
and here is where they are at today: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-21683616
Note these tablets are just for the US market, England voted Amplify down. They are still stinging from Rupert Murdoch invasion of privacy. We tend to blame Bill Gates for all of this but it is really the collaboration of these two people with their myopic view of the world and having the money to impose it on us.
We are not just pawns in their data collection game. Our children should not be part of some great experiment in education. Rupert should go back to press (oh sorry that’s dead) and Bill should go back to PC software (sorry also dying) and leave us alone. But I did say ‘should’ and since their empires are crumbling they needs something to occupy their time and it looks like it’s US.
I was about to question why FERPA has not been cited here, but then remembered – FERPA has virtually no enforcement mechanism. Only the SOE can attempt attempt remedy, and Arne is in this up to his eyeballs.
Another case of Angry MOMS and PEOPLE WINNING. This is great. The only thing politicians understand if you cannot reason with them is “FEAR of LOSING THEIR JOBS.” Krazy Crawfish has pointed out much of what goes on there and he worked in statistics in Louisianna and he told us they have wiped out the data or have hidden it. If FEAR is all that works “So Be It.” Watch the board of education in LAUSD when I speak the truth. The body language is very clear. When they think they have it all under control they are stoic, when not they cannot control themselves so we take our own cameras to obtain the proper videos of them squirming around and the looks on their faces.
Reblogged this on Transparent Christina.
Very simply it is all about total control from birth. That is what this no privacy fascist state we have let happen is all about. Once again read “Hapsburgs to Hitler” which is the story of how since 1919 Austria has been a corporate state, fascist, and you will see that the entire plan that was used there is in place here and why not if it worked for over 90 years. Make sense? A friend of mine got caught up in Murdochs hacking scandal and it cost a major career. Now there will be a big payoff as he has real deep pockets. Is this what we want. N.Y. parents, teachers and community Louisianna did it with putting fear into the politicians you must do the same thing. Will they try to do it again when they think you are asleep? That is all they know what to do. Be Prepared. Remember how Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Kim Il Jung from North Korea have used for control. It is total information. Now with face recognition and license plate recognition everywhere. Even if you take out your cell phone battery and walk they can track you. Look at London if you really want to see it in the open. Ben Franklin said “When you give up freedom for safety you get neither.” This is where we are. The civilian game follows the develupement of the military game in information warfare or total information awareness. After reading every issue of Aviation Week cover to cover for 55 years I have watched the progression of this and understand what they are doing and how they are doing it. You can tell where they are going if you watch that long and have been in that business. Coming to your town now like the drones for control with police depts. Do they really need this stuff? How about good old police work. These guys were busted by citizens. Go look at Global Research. To understand this you must know international relations and military capability as it all comes down into the public sector later and now much faster. Lots of money in this.
They start flying drones out here in rural MO and many would be practicing their wing shooting. Unfortunately for us they will probably be flying too high.
They (the forces of intimidation and fear) have been doing this for years. In the 80s-90s the State Patrol used to hover over my inlaws’ greenhouse in a helicopter (they lived out in the boonies) looking for “illegal” plants, even though my mother in law was the head nurse (if you don’t know how these local small hospitals work, the head nurse ends up being the defacto doc a lot of the time) at the local rural small town hospital and worked with the patrol and sheriff daily on trauma victims.
If so that is wrong and a big concern. There are laws and protocols in place to protect privacy and confidentiality. This is illegal, I am glad he is recalling the data but the damage is done.
snuck into RTTT by Arne and Obama…pay attention:
You are aware of the changes they made:

Hi Linda,
Believe you me I am well aware of Race to the top (I view it differently) Actually I blame the individual organizations that were responsible for protecting the information. I think the government is now trying to prevent further problems…so many different ways of viewing things. It is better than a cover up. Don’t you think. 🙂 Angela
Yup, that’s why the changes state WITHOUT parental permission, to protect us. Thanks for the laugh….good one. 🙂
