From a reader:
Really? This is “education’s fault?” This is the “liberal’s” fault? This is the fault of all of us allowing society to lose its moral compass starting with the family structure. It is about our widening class system and people not caring about one another. This is not about what education does not do nor is it a liberal problem; it is a societal problem linked to lobbyists (NRA) and politics (big money & power!)

I am really seeing this as two separate questions. What security measures will provide school administrative personnel a greater ability to determine on property threat? Do families who own guns have a “safe” plan to secure arms from other family members in times of chaos or perceived challenge, i.e. a family member is upset or depressed.

this is about a nation that has become anti-god……take God out of the classroom, now humans make the decisions and flawed they are.

Yet a gunman shot up congregants at a church. And God was there. These arguments make me shiver with fear. These are mental health issues and to blame schools for not having prayer is awful. Yet, schools that do have prayer, like the Amish were still targeted. What I would really like to see is our houses of worship play a more active role in getting much needed services to families in need instead of getting involved in politics.

Good comment another one hit the nail on the head as to what is the real problem.
