When President Obama visited Memphis, he was introduced by a handsome, articulate teen, Chris Dean.
Read what Chris wrote about his life after the President left town. Read about the details that the “no excuses” reformers dismiss.

This story reminded me of the child stars of “Slumdog Millionaire” who came from the poorest slums of India and were then sent back there afterwards. I believe public pressure got those particular kids out, but there’s still millions left.
Of course, the difference is that India is supposedly a third world nation and we’re supposedly a first world nation. Not that you’d recognize much difference if you were poor in America.

And the gap between the two Americas continues to widen. With RttT we are also creating two-tiered education.

Oops, hurry and fix this, Diane. Chris Peck is the editor of the Commercial Appeal, who wrote the article. The student’s name is Chris Dean.

After reading what Chris wrote, I think he ought to write a letter to billionaire Bill Gates and ask him to donate funds
to help the poverty conditions that exist in South Memphis…instead of investing in wrist bracelets and charters that
don’t work…

Look at the photos and read the captions. Watch the video. Ask yourself how teachers are supposed to “fix” these conditions. Chris Dean is a remarkable young man.

It’s quite fitting that President Obama should have visited Booker T. Washington High School, rather than W.E.B. Du Bois, Malcolm X or Martin Luther King High School. Fitting because, like Washington, Obama is all about kowtowing to power and making your own private deals for self-advancement.

You are so right. I for one, sick and tired of These lame excuses for Obama. The damage he has inflicted on American education is a legacy he owns. I see no evidence he will change course. Thus, the most outstanding Obama legacy will be the fall of the public American Education System. His second greatest accomplishment will be the demolition of Unionization. Reagan began it, but Obama delivered the death blow.

Just another afterthought on your statement on his ability to promote himself. It is utterly miraculous. If you look at his biography he has advanced on literally no accomplishments. When faced with an obstacle or a task that is difficult, he caves with an uncanny grace. He then appears to build on the weaknesses of the projects that he failed at to move on and up.
