We had an impressive amount up here in Northern NY. Honestly I was thinking maybe 20-25% in our region, 42% is impressive.

I agree and the message needs to be loud and clear in California because Michael Kirst is leading the charge there for the CC and asociated tests.
He is chair of the California Board of Education and an emeritus professor of education, Stanford.
The National Governor’s Association one of the co-owners of the copytight for the CC is paying for the promotions there. See Edweek Commentary April 13, 2015.

We need to enlist the various teacher’s unions toget on board with this movement, if they push it along with parent and student organizations, these deformers would understand that we are in control, not them.

Hey…don’t be so cynical. It took them several years to be sure that citizens had led the charge, but the unions have finally scrambled through the crowd of real warriors to steal the stage.

And that is what most of our ‘leaders’ do. But that’s OK. They have the time to help organize the resistance. Teachers are still responsible for their 50+ hour teaching duties.

Don’t be surprised if the oligarchs puppet elected representatives at the state and federal level don’t attempt to introduce legislation that would make it illegal for parents to opt out their children.
In fact, I think that Pearson and/or Alex will write that legislation with severe penalties included that would send parents to prison if their children even stayed home sick, and then Pearson and ALEC would hand the already written legislation to their puppets with their marching orders and this threat—do as your told or our campaign support for your reelections will vanish.

Hopefully they’ll include mandatory jail time for students who opt out. . . . and hanging for their parents.

Then the people will lock and load their weapons and take to the streets to hunt down their elected leaders and do to them what the French did to their former leaders during the French revolution.
Thee probably will be legislation barring refusal of tests. But you cannot FORCE kids to take a test. You can put them in from of the computer or paper but you can’t force them to do it. It will just come to parents telling kids to draw pictures or pick whatever answers they want.
If they force children to take the tests who don’t want to and their parents support them, expect those children to bubble in “C” for every answer and be done with each test in five minutes or less.
If they pass legislation to make it illegal to opt out then we instruct our children intentionally sabotage their invalid tests. We remain in control! Unjust laws cannot be imposed upon a strong willed/defiant population. Are they going to have the Army monitor kids taking tests? Strategies may need to evolve but we will win–we remain in control!
