According to newly released documents, “prosecutors believe Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, a potential 2016 Republican candidate for president, was at the center of a nationwide “criminal scheme” to illegally coordinate fundraising with outside conservative groups, according to previously secret court documents released Thursday.”
Would not surprise me. When one sells his soul for money it keeps on going and going and going. Hopefully justice will be done.
Amen.
He was front and center during the union busting madness back when Ohioans raised 1,000,000+ signatures to overturn SB5. We supported each other. People there were thrown out of the state house. This news is no surprise.
This is bizarre:
“He is state schools Superintendent John Huppenthal, and he admitted Wednesday that he made those comments, along with hundreds of more mundane musings, in anonymous posts on political blogs.”
He did that horrible non-apology cowards do, where he said that if the people he called “pigs” are offended he called them pigs then he is sorry he offended them.

Chiara…it not only Repubs who segue immediately into lobbying despite that they are breaking the law.
Tom Dashle did this too, and joined his wife as two of the most active lobbyists for Big Pharma.
It is disgusting that even highly respected former legislators do this, and with impunity it seems.
Walker got pushed out of Marquette University for campaign violations running for student council president. He never received his college degree.
When the student newspaper made slightly negative comments about him, he had his thugs take all of the papers from newstands so no one would see them.
This leopard has not changed his spots. He is simply a criminal

Doesn’t it just make your head spin? They’re usually the first to start hollering about the big, bad, corrupted government. But when it’s one of their own, they’ll be the first in line to speak out vigorously for their God-given right to be screwed.
This is the best news I’ve heard in awhile!
I’m hoping the 2014 and 2016 elections turn into referendums on corruption and capture of lawmakers.
It can’t just get worse every year forever without collapsing, and it is getting worse every year. The measure of ethical fitness can’t be whether or not politicians meet the statutory definition of “actionable corruption, criminal prosecution”. That’s way too low a bar.
If he’s dirty and you know it, clap your hands …
Love it Jon…first laugh of the day. My 4 year old grandson sings that all time…now I can join him. Thanks.
I love the sheer shamelessness of it:
“Movants argue that ‘coordination’ of political activities that do not arguably involve express advocacy cannot be a crime under Wisconsin law,” he wrote. “These arguments fail to recognize or misinterpret Wisconsin statutes, administrative rules, and G.A.B. formal opinions. Movants have also ignored controlling Wisconsin case law. Indeed, in their submissions, movants – FOSW, Citizens for a Strong America, Inc. (CFSA), Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce, Inc. (WMC) and Wisconsin Manfacuturers & Commerce-Issues Mobilization Council (WMC-IMC), and Wisconsin Club for Growth (WiCFG) appear to have tacitly admitted to violating Wisconsin law.”
The day after Eric Cantor’s loss he wouldn’t rule out becoming a lobbyist.
They don’t even bother to pretend anymore. “Not a crime” is the ethical bar they meet. Anything less than (arguably!) “criminal” is A-OK.
They should take the state seal off the governor’s door and replace it with “Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce, Inc”. I mean, WHAT is the difference between those two entities?
They are very close to claiming a Disjunctive Defense —
“My client did not fire that gun and besides it was self-defense.”
You’re on a roll Jon. Kind of like the Vergara judge, Treu, who based his decision on the manufactured fantasy stats of plaintiff witnesses Chetty and Berliner (that is Berliner from ASU where they are selling students online degrees).
Don’t know whether to laugh or cry…reminds me of the Woody Allen film Bananas.
It’s worse than that. It’s “it can’t be illegal because that’s how we do it!”
It was FIVE district attorneys, too, which takes it out of “liberal prosecutors are after Walker” territory too.
Not that it matters! It may actually BE impossible to violate campaign finance law. I don’t know what the offense has to be. Bags of cash exchanged? Running it out of his office? Even then, I don’t know if they’d get a conviction.
Gosh, Chiara, isn’t it similar to the 5 judges who appointed Baby Bush President of the US? Yes, our democratic republic has turned into a banana republic.
I’d love to see a clown with a pie get Walker in the face. Impending legal consequences aside, that’s the kind of justice he also deserves, a clown in a suit getting it from an ordinary guy in a clown suit.
I wonder what happened to the guy who threw his shoes at Georgie Porgie? Is he still alive?
WhoH! Who would’a thunk it?
I’d a thunk it.
Don’t believe everything you read. Twice this issue as been brought up and TWICE the liberal judges have thrown it out. Even they know a false case when they see it. Wake up – this is a concerted smear campaign out to destroy a governor who is deemed to be too successful in his conservative principles. Wisconsin is doing great under his leadership and the liberals just can’t stand it.
