Valerie Strauss posts here a hilarious explanation of the college admissions process, as devised by those witty folks at the Onion.
The Onion would have a hard time satirizing the education “reform” movement of our time, where every day is April Fools’ Day.
Modify that slightly and you will have the process for finding a job once you are laid off. Perpetual hopelessness.
For the so-called reformers, everyday is April Fool’s Day.
For the teachers who must try to survive amid this vicious nonsense, everyday is Halloween, and the candy has been poisoned,
‘The Onion would have a hard time satirizing the education “reform” movement of our time, where every day is April Fools’ Day.”
This statement is funny because it is true.
YUP. These people satirize themselves beyond anyone else’s poor power to do so. Consider Duncan’s “The plutocrats have no seat at the table where educational policy is made.” LOL. From DUNCAN!!!! The host of the K-12 Plutocrat Fun Fest!!!
George W. Bush was one of our best educated presidents in history! — Yale and Harvard can’t be beat. Certainly Bush was better educated than Abraham Lincoln or most of the slave owners who had served as President before Lincoln. Didn’t Bush get into Yale based on great high school grades, lots of community service work, and humongous SAT and ACT scores? Or was it just that Yale needed a cheerleader rather than a baseball player like W’s Dad had been?
Good comments and questions, George. I am with you on this one.
