This is the ABSOLUTE BEST NEWS I have heard in a good long while. Maybe now the truth will finally be told without all the “ed reform” spin to alter it! Hooray and profound thanks Diane…..profound! Let us hope a national dialogue on what REALLY MATTERS in education can begin.

Here’s hoping it reaches number 1.
Here’s hoping that it creates a noise loud enough to be heard even by the as yet completely deaf ears of the current administration in Washington.

I can’t decide between YEE HAW! and OOORAH! That was FAST and no surprise. The implications for our side have me giggling like a school girl. Rhee-volting must be fuming. This alone may terminate what I see as a purposeful campaign to redefine and defame you that is just coming out of the gate! 10,000 kudos to you.

Thank you for writing this much needed book. Several teachers at our high school in Las Vegas are discussing the book during our lunch break. I encourage others to share their thoughts with their colleagues as well. What is most encouraging is our principal suggested all teachers read it to be better informed concerning the “Reformazzi” in our country. Congratulations and may it reach number 1!

A teacher in NY State explains what it is like to teach the Modules, scripted programs and how it changed what is possible in one third grade classroom. Powerful example of the issue of state created, mandated and adopted programs and its effects on teachers and students. I am not against raising standards, having better schools and good teachers for all kids. I do not believe this is the way to attain higher standards.

Congratulations! Congresswoman Janice Schakowsky was just given a copy today at a retired teachers’ luncheon where she was the guest speaker. Congresswoman Jan was asked to pay it forward (pass it around!), & to tell her cohorts to STOP their destructive policies RE: privatization & public schools, etc.
Someone told her to read it on the plane to D.C. (all convening there this afternoon, in attempts to avoid a government shutdown–situation looks grim).

I am unable to locate the book on the NYT best sellers list for hardcover non-fiction: http://www.nytimes.com/best-sellers-books/2013-09-29/hardcover-nonfiction/list.html
Is there another list it appears on. I’d like to be able to link to it when I tweet about it.
Congrats for a successful book at any rate!
