Trump stays up all night, rage-tweeting. A guy has to get some sleep. The only things that hold his attention are his magnificent, golden ballroom. His 250-foot arch that will crowd out the view of the Arlington National Cemetery, his repainting of the reflecting pool on the Mall so that it looks like a swimming pool. His gaudy cage for the UFC match. He thinks it’s so stunning that he’s musing about not removing it.
And look what he did to Jackie Kennedy’s beautiful rose garden! He paved it over!

I, personally, am ashamed of what this country has become. People ask me why I am angry at Trump and hate him so much. The reason why Trump plans to build a medical center beneath his White House ballroom is because Trump needs to be close to immediate medical treatment.

Trump’s outbursts even include public use of the F-word in speeches which is an embarrassment to America and something that no President has ever done in public in front of the entire world.
DELUSIONS are another behavior someone with frontotemporal dementia shows, such as Trump’s delusional insistence that Iran was building nuclear weapons, while at the same time he was saying that, Trump’s own White House officials were telling Congress under oath that Iran was not building nuclear weapons and was no threat to the United States.
WHAT HAPPENS TO ALL OF US if during one of Trump’s 3 a.m. rants on social media, Trump is struck with the delusional dementia belief that China is about to launch missiles at us and so Trump orders a pre-emptive nuclear missile strike? All the sensible Pentagon generals with actual war experience have been fired by Hegseth and replaced with Hegseth’s “warriors” who are only too eager to push that red Launch button. There is no place for us to hide from China’s missile response to that dementia delusion. Nuclear missiles will fly in both directions, the atmosphere of the entire planet will become toxic…Earth dies…we all die.
God, help us.

The media constantly wrote about Biden’s unfitness. Jake Tapper wrote a book about it.
I would have preferred Biden with his gaffes and mental lapses to Trump, with his authoritarianism, his corruption, his obsession with himself.
Biden didn’t tear down a portion of the White House. Biden didn’t appoint manifestly unfit people to his Cabinet. Biden didn’t ban DEI. Biden didn’t shut down science. Biden didn’t sell merch and memes and crypto. Biden didn’t wipe out wind power and solar power. Biden didn’t sink hundreds of millions into reviving coal mines.
Come to think of it, he was a wonderful president.

The liberal media constantly write about Trump’s fitness. Neither side actually cares about truth, they only care about their “side”.

Biden was a great president for protecting civil rights, for commitment to the environment, for protecting the voting rights of minorities, for appointing highly qualified Cabinet secretaries, for defending Ukraine against Russian invasion, for defending free speech and a free press, for advancing science and medicine, for psssing a huge infrastructure bill to upgrade roads, bridges, and tunnels. Biden was empathetic.

It’s astonishing to me that anyone being honest could claim that Biden was incompetent. Biden was aging and slowing down. But everyone knew Biden was getting on in years when they voted for him in 2020. People didn’t care because Biden was still perfectly capable of being president. Biden – despite slowing down and becoming more forgetful as most of us senior citizens are right now- was STILL a functioning president and in fact, he was arguably a very good one.
But if you don’t believe me, then believe Bernie Sanders, who was one of the FIRST prominent politicians to endorse Biden for re-election AND one of the ones who kept supporting Biden (along with AOC) when the other conservative and moderate Dems eagerly joined in with the Republicans to throw Biden under the bus.
If the media had covered Biden’s so-called cognitive failings the way it covered Trump’s during the 2024 campaign and since, Biden would have been re-elected president, because voters liked him.
Trump is a child. It’s not that he doesn’t have some moments of lucidity. It’s just that Trump’s moments of lucidity are as rare as Biden’s moments of dementia. Trump has not gone a day without showing us clearly that he is delusional. Over and over again.
Biden was never delusional.
They aren’t the same thing. If you don’t believe me, ask Bernie Sanders or AOC. Or just go ahead and smear them as untrustworthy liars who shouldn’t be trusted because they endorsed Biden’s re-election. After all, that’s what the far right Putin-loving Republicans say about Bernie and AOC and all politicians on the left. How sad that anyone is trying to argue here that Bernie and AOC are hypocrites and liars for endorsing Biden’s re-election, because some Putin defenders say that they must have been lying to the American people because they were covering up that Biden is demented like Trump so they are as bad as Republicans.

Dienne, You might try dropping your filters for a moment and finding out what Biden actually accomplished in his four years, the lion’s share of which DJT now takes credit for, the same way he plasters his name all over the works and tributes of so many great Americans all through history.

I’m quite familiar with what Biden claims to have accomplished. If you really look into it though, it was all smoke and mirrors. He did nothing about COVID but pretended he ended the pandemic. His infrastructure bill was a huge giveaway to corporations. He opened up more land and sea for drilling. He did little for the working class and even that was designed to be overturned by SCOTUS (his pathetic kabuki theater of canceling student loan debt, for instance). He lowered prices on a tiny handful of drugs at the end of his term knowing the Republicans would reverse even that small amount. No minimum wage increase, no lowering the Medicare age. And I’ve gone into intricate depth with numerous sources as to what Ukraine is all about but you’re all too thoroughly propagandized into raging Russophobia to even bother anymore. And don’t get me started on arming and funding a genocide.
What you all fail to accept is that Trump’s election was more a repudiation of centrist neoliberalism than it was support for Trump. If Biden had truly done anything for the people of this country he or Harris would have been elected in a landslide. But the Democrats would rather lose to a fascist than allow even moderate leftist reform. And that’s because they’re owned by the same interests that own the Republicans.

More accurate would be to say that the independents would rather elect fascist Republicans than Democrats, especially progressive Dems, when all they hear from the right wing media AND the Putin-loving left wing media is that the cause of all evils is the Democrat party.
The difference between the Putin-loving left wing and Bernie Sanders and AOC is exemplified by this poster.
Bernie Sanders and AOC endorsed Biden’s re-election, not because Biden was the perfect progressive, but because they knew Biden was moving in the right direction and was empowering the forces that would make it easier for progressives to win their agenda in the future.
They have always known that the true enemy of their progressive agenda wasn’t Biden but the right wing Republicans and the far left who would rather empower Trump/Putin authoritarianism than have a progressive future.
Even today, this person has continued to push the false right wing narratives that Trump is no worse than a Dem, despite being proven wrong over and over; she said that it was more important to
“send a message” to the evil Democrats in 2016 instead of voting for a Democrat to guarantee – for the first time in decades – a 5-4 liberal Supreme Court majority led by RBG. She was wrong.
I look at the country today and know for a fact that everything this Putin-supporting person claimed would be good for our country has been a disaster that may well kill democracy. The ONLY small respite was the 4 years of Biden – something that she opposed – when it looked possible that this democracy lovers could exhale.
And she’s still spewing this stuff.
It’s no different from the many MAGA-spewing voters who don’t need no stinkin evidence to tell them that everything Trump says is right, even if he changes what he says the next day.
There really is no point in having an argument with people who are absolutely certain that Democrats are the source of all evil, and the fact that Republicans have been spurning democracy since 1988 (or earlier) to kneecap the respites when we had a Dem president, and especially when Republicans were empowered, has nothing to do with it.
Like MAGA faithful who don’t care about their family’s economic hardships if a right wing President who is making the rich richer is ALSO hating the people they hate. Like those on the left that don’t care if progressives and rational people on the left are threatened or shot if it means that Democrats they hate are out of power.
This person is the anti-Bernie. This person is the anti-AOC and the anti-Mamdani. Her false, right wing rhetoric is dangerous to them.
I really like Mamdani. He’s not getting everything done. He may ultimately accomplish just a little of a progressive agenda. But that’s better than taking 4 steps backwards.

Wow, the top photo above is really bonkers and says a lot about who we are contending with today!
I can’t identify each man but it looks like the guy on our left (stage right), is saying, “OMG, POTUS is asleep in the middle of yet another meeting –and I can’t stand to look at this again…”
The guy next to him, with his eyes closed too, is saying, “Well I’m bored as hell, so I’m joining him.”
The guy who is talking, on our far right (stage left) is saying, “I’m just going to grab the spotlight and ignore the fact that I put POTUS to sleep again.”
And the one along side the speaker decided that his role was to be attentive, so he’s biting his lip and trying to look alert.
All but the first guy are utterly looney tunes and living on another planet –much like their leader and the rest of their unconscious tribe…

The most shocking thing about that photograph of Trump sleeping is that the speaker, Lee Zeldin, director of the Environmental Protection Agency was announcing the release of hundreds of millions of dollars to restart the coal industry.
Coal? Yes, while China leads the world in building solar power and wind power, the Trump administration is committed to reviving the use of coal. Does your house have a coal-fired generator? Do buildings near you buy coal? Is your car powered by coal? This is insane.

You are so right, Diane. I lived in buildings with coal fired heating and easily recall all the smog that was in the air in those days. I was also appalled years ago to see how places like West Virginia’s beautiful land had been raped by coal mining.
Besides the fact that he really could not care less about the status of our earth’s environment and detrimental dangers to the ecology that effect the health and well-being of the planet and people, my guess is that it’s all about money for him.
Since billionaires like that just can’t get enough money, I believe what he’s concerned about most is investments, having more places to put his money where he thinks it will be safe and generate even more income.
He’s way off base about there being any future in coal though, for many of the reasons that you pointed out. And why anyone would trust in the economic vision and judgements of someone whose business acumen is so poor that he went bankrupt as the owner of casinos, where the odds are stacked in favor of the house (as well as the fact that his father tried to bail him out but didn’t succeed) is just way beyond my comprehension.
