I confess. I did not watch Trump’s State of the Union address. I went to sleep early and got a good night’s sleep.

Trump used the longest SOTU in history to assail Democrats and to lie about his accomplishments.

So glad I didn’t watch.

I DARE TRUMP to come shopping with me for groceries, clothes, and just about everything else!!!

REMEMBER WHEN the first President Bush tried to make a photo op by going to a grocery store? He just grabbed things, not caring what they cost, and when the checkout clerk began scanning the items, Bush was amazed at the “new technology”.

THAT SHOWED how long it had been since Bush had ever shopped for himself. The Bushes are a billionaire Texas oil family, and like billionaire Trump and all of Trump’s billionaires in his Cabinet, they have servants do the shopping for them. These billionaires have no idea what We the Little People pay every day to survive.

BY THE WAY — do you know how much money just one measly billion dollars is: Just one measly billion dollars is 1,000 millions of dollars. A person with just one measly billion dollars is a millionaire a thousand times over.

LET THAT SINK IN…if you can, because I can’t — I simply can’t even imagine being a millionaire a thousand times over.

YET, Trump and his billionaire buds in power these days have tens and even hundreds of billions of dollars. Blows my mind how much money that it is for one person to have.

NO WONDER Trump and his billionaire buds say that inflation is “under control” and “going down”. It’s because they have no idea what We the Little People are going through.

BY USING HIS POWER as President, Trump has cut personal deals that have added between $3 to $4 billion dollars to his personal wealth since taking office again. That’s between 3,000 and 4,000 millions of dollars. His family business has done even better.

Meanwhile, Trump’s unconstitutional tariffs have caused inflation for We the Little People to keep rising — and there’s more on the way now that he has imposed new tariffs.

Great…just what We the Little People need…more tariffs…more inflation. Can’t wait to vote in the midterms…if there are any.

  I do shop at the neighborhood grocery store. Prices have gone up and up.
  I can’t imagine Trump or any of his family shopping at Key Food or Foodtown or IGA.
  I doubt that any of them fill their gas tank.
  That’s a job for the chauffeur.
  The Trump family pocketed billions just in the first year. Three more to go.

  I have documented all the prices as I save my receipts since 2020. You name it has gone up. We are not talking cents, but dollars. One of the big jumps is coffee and my wife really liked Fairlife 30 G protein drink (up $6). Nurri the same I saw today went up $5. These are Costco prices. From vegetables to anything you need, it has gone up. A trip to the store is now always over $100. And, I couldn’t believe the amount for my emergency room visit — $6K plus, but I am on Medicare so my copay was $130. Who can pay these prices. Gas $1.85. What planet is he on. I am in CA, so the best price is at Costco. One month ago it was $3.79 — under $4 for the first time in a long while. Thank goodness I don’t commute and fill up about once a month. Gas yesterday $4.29. And with Iran on the brink, guess what? Yeah you guessed it. From supply chains to whatnot, we pay for it. What dolt would believe tariffs (Oh, I my favorite word. — really out of all the words in a dictionary — tariff not something like empathy, love, peace or harmony?). I could go on and on, but each trip to the store costs a little more. I will say, eggs are now lower than they were. So about that bird flu sort of dissipated with no explanation. Geez, I remember the toilet paper hauls and people loading shopping carts with eggs. Well, luckily we don’t eat a much meat and I cook with pasta and vegetables. But, I know what am I complaining about as I can survive on a tortilla, piece of broccoli, and something else.

I also didn’t have the stomach for the litany of lies. At the end of the CNN article there’s an addendum that states that the article was updated to add to the list of lies. He should have to pay every American for each lie so maybe we could recoup some of our wasted funds.

Didn’t watch it either. Wasn’t in the mood for a torture session. Never liked the SotU speeches. Maybe if they made a rule–“Hold your applause until the end”, it would be at least 25% shorter. I wish none of the Dems showed up. They worry & care too much about rules, norms & decorum, which are all out the window since Trump took over. They need some badass candidates for Congress & the Presidency who will fight dirty if necessary, to take on the crooked, cheating, lying, Constitutionally bereft Republicans. Dems need to lay off any talk of Woke, Trans stuff, even DEI, until they win enough to then enact the right policies to protect minorities & treat everyone decently. You have to win before you can do the right things. Focus on common-sense policies that aren’t overly liberal, so not to scare off the Heartland folks. If Dems win them over first with reasonable, but pro-little guy policies, then they’ll have more opportunities to get DEI kind of things done later & gradually. I’m pushing Dems to start co-opting Republican mainstays like-family values, strong on crime, tight borders, secure elections where EVERYONE should be able to vote. Take control of Mom & Pop issues over Righties–affordable health insurance, livable wages, making the rich pay their fair share of taxes, encourage & support more unions & union enrollment, and other kitchen table issues. Here’s another Dem co-opt of a Rightie strength–change MAGA to MAGAT–Make America Great After Trump! Cuz if Righties really want to be the patriots they think they are, then Dems need to really focus hard on how Repubs are ridiculously disobeying & ignoring the Constitution & Dems are the ones who are respecting & following it.

Diane– I went to sleep WHILE watching (1 hr. 47 min. of nonsense). Most memorable sight–camera hovering on Mark Kelly’s face. Missing those S.o.t.U.s with Clinton, when he went off teleprompter!

&, while Spanberger (sp-?) did a credible job, I wish that Jasmine Crockett (sp-?) had been chosen to give the Dem. response!
