Truth be known embracing Diversity does require a confidence and a faith in your fellow person, because to embrace Diversity is to accept folk or communities who have a different outlook to the one you are used to. To accept this as being ‘OK’ and no threat to you is the goal and sometimes you need to give yourself a mild talking to in getting there, or times not so much. But then that’s part of living.
Folk who object to Diversity are basically uncertain of and unsettled by difference. At its worse this festers and turns into prejudice and hate. They are embracing toxicity which will rot their beings leaving them wallowing in hate and whether they like to admit it or not- fear.
    Accepting Diversity is liberating.
(and at times saying to yourself ‘Err. I don’t get it…But what the heck…..Compassion, Respect and Tolerance are the bottom lines, if those boxes are ticked…I’m fine with ‘it’,’

I don’t think has much to do with Felon47’s personal fears — he’ll deal with that by resigning sometime before the end of his term so the Veep Creep can pardon all his crimes past and future — but the fears snd hatred he can exploit in others.

All demagogues are very good at drawing out and exploiting the worst devils of human nature. It’s their main skill.

A lot of people are afraid and distrustful of DEI. Hateful towards it, as well. It infringes on their “rights”. And lgbtq is “weird”. Not a good look in some circles. Trump and Co pander to that lot and seem to be in the same league, as well.

Then there’s the question of why they would gut USAID and Medicare. Both do so much good for the poor and disadvantaged, both here and abroad.

His “…s#*thole nations…?!” quote got me to thinking that not only does he not care about the poor and disadvantaged, but he might rather see them gone sooner than later. Population control. Survival of the “fittest” (aka: wealthiest).

      Gitapik,

I think you are right. Trump and his sidekick Miller would like to lock the doors and keep out people whose skin is brown or black. They would happily shut down foreign aid and let people who need it “learn to take care of themselves.” IE starve, pull themselves up by non-existent bootstraps, or go to any other country that will take them. They really don’t care.
