Happy Easter!
Please open and listen. You will be astonished by these four young men, singing in a stairwell.
The group is called King’s Return.
For many readers, this is a holy day.
Reflect. Rest.
Think about how to take seriously Jesus’s teachings about kindness, mercy, love, compassion. Feed the hungry, comfort the afflicted, welcome the stranger.

I was about to write a scathing rebuke of the condition of our country and its perverse leadership, when three rose-breasted Grosebeaks landed on our platform feeder. On their way to The north to breed, they stop here each spring to get some fast food before they move on. Maybe I need to think on them today

J.D. Vance made a pilgrimage to Rome to meet with Vatican officials this week and we the people got to pay for this opportunist’s publicity stunt. Although Vance didn’t get to see the pope, he managed to get a photo op with some high level Catholics. How does he reconcile Trump’s cruel, inhumane treatment of immigrants with the teachings of Jesus? Vance was on a mission to do some damage control for some of the pope’s earlier rebuke of Vance’s defense of the administration’s immigration policies that violate human rights. https://www.yahoo.com/news/pope-slams-trump-mass-deportations-174445599.html

Thanks very much for this. Although something was wrong with the URL, I managed after much searching to find the Kings Return’s rendition of Shubert’s Ave Maria. Their range is astounding. The bass is VERY low and one of their 2 tenors can reach high up into countertenor territory. The other 2 singers, baritone and another tenor (as well as the bass and the high tenor) fill in everything between.
Thanks also for the Easter greetings. In addiiton to your mention of Jesus’s teachings, it is important to remember that he was always Jewish and that he was familiar with the restrictions of Leviticus 19 to take care of the strangers and the aliens.
For example Lev. 19:9-10 “When you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not reap to the very edges of your field, or gather the gleanings of your harvest. 10You shall not strip your vineyard bare, or gather the fallen grapes of your vineyard; you shall leave them for the poor and the alien: I am the Lord your God.”
Also Lev 19:33-34 “When an alien resides with you in your land, you shall not oppress the alien. 34The alien who resides with you shall be to you as the citizen among you; you shall love the alien as yourself, for you were aliens in the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.”
I hope that your recently concluded octave of Passover was filled with happiness and good health.

Yes, Roberta–the link doesn’t work. Could someone repost a correct link (couldn’t find it). However, there is a beautiful video/rendition of their “Bridge Over Troubled Waters” (yes, we are in dire need of a bridge in these turbulent, troubled times) by Googling King’s Return.
Thank you for introducing us to this amazing group, Diane.

Apologies–you can, of course, click on the above King’s Return (where I located “Bridge…Waters”) & find “Ave Maria” there, among other videos.
