Jeff Tiedrich shows how the media tried to sanitize Elon Musk’s Nazi salute at the inauguration ceremonies.
Even the ADL (the Anti-Defamation League) issued a statement saying that Elon’s salute was merely “an awkward gesture.”
So Jeff does everyone a favor by inserting two clips, side by side. One shows Elon, the other shows Adolph.

Who knows what lurks in the hearts of men, but my theory is that Musk was engaged in premeditated trolling. He knew it would be seen as a Nazi salute, but also that it could be plausibly be denied with the exclamation of “my heart goes out to you” and the throwing motion from his chest to full extension. I think he did this not because he’s a Nazi but because he is an juvenile edgelord a$$hole and wanted to get “the libs” upset.

It’s shocking to hear people at the NYT and even at this blog normalizing this as “trolling”.
Don’t be outraged or think these folks aren’t good people. They are just “trolling” so shut up.
Dems are belittled and criticized – even by some on this blog – for expressing outrage when Republican leaders spew racism and fascism – Dems should shut up because those Republicans are just “trolling”, and no outrage is warranted. But Dems are BLAMED whenever Republicans are outraged and won’t stop shrieking about some evil thing (like DEI or gender reassignment surgery performed on children in schools) and the extreme outrage of Republicans justifies the NYT writing 100 stories sympathetic to those outraged people who know that the Dems’ DEI and pro-trans policies are evil, and what are those Dems going to do to fix those policies that cause so much outrage?

Decades ago, when the NYT did not think that the Ku Klux Klan and American Nazi party leaders were just “trolling” people, reporters didn’t realize that Nazi salutes are okay if you call it “trolling”. Those reporters actually wrote stories that made it clear that Nazi salutes were unacceptable behavior and the public knew it was wrong. But today, ONLY the issues that cause outrage to Trump supporters are considered to be valid and very concerning issues, and racism is not one of them. Now that the Republicans have embraced white supremacy, those who think it is wrong just have a “different opinion” and the worst thing you can say about Elon Musk is that he likes to “troll”. It is PLAUSIBLE, these complicit normalizers say, that Musk didn’t mean it to be a Nazi salute. Nothing to see here, folks. If you express outrage, you are part of the problem. Unless you are outraged at a Democrat, in which case your outrage is of vital importance that the NYT will write 100 stories about how the Democrats are doing something that causes great outrage and condemn Dems for doing such a terrible thing and not addressing the outrage.

So frightening that folks on this blog are using words like “premeditated trolling” to make what should be unacceptable, acceptable. Next, using racist and anti-gay epithets is just “trolling” Black and gay people, so that makes it okay, and no outrage allowed because “outrage is what they want”.
If you want to know why Dems lose, it is because only the extreme outrage of white Trump voters is taken seriously, but Dems who express outrage are belittled and marginalized for daring to feel outrage.
If you want to know why Dems lose, it is because “good people” bend over backward to come up with a “plausible” reason for a Republican making a Nazi salute. And the liberal NYT says it is a nothing burger and the only LEGITIMATE outrage is when “very good people” feel outraged that the Dems want open borders and are making their children trans. That’s the outrage that is worthy of 1,000 stories.
It’s quite revealing that some purveyors of the myth that the NYT’s news coverage is rabidly pro-Trump are absolutely certain that Musk can offer what they refer to as a “plausible” reason for giving the fascist salute WHILE HOSTING A LIVE STREAM OF THE PARTY LEADERS OF GERMANY’S RACIST FAR-RIGHT POPULIST GERMAN-NATIONALIST AfD POLITICAL PARTY.
And they are right that the NYT will present any ridiculous excuse Musk offers as totally plausible.
With “enemies” like the NYT, the white supremacist Republicans don’t really need any friends at all.

Look at Mad Musk’s expression to determine what kind of salute it was?
I think his expression reveals the answer, and it was meant as a white supremacist (or Nazi) salute.
Add the evidence revealed in that expression to what the next link reports and it is 100% certain what was going on in his mind.

^^A quick correction to my comment which is being held up but might at some later time post.
On January 10, Elon Musk hosted a livestream with the leader of the far right German AfD party to express his very strong support for them taking power in Germany (and promising to help them do it). Musk gave the Nazi salute twice on January 20, in celebration of the far right Republican party he supported taking power in the US. Nothing to see here folks. Just “trolling” and outrage not allowed.
(In the missing comment, I incorrectly suggested that Musk gave his Nazi salutes at his pro-far right German AfD party livestream broadcast, instead of 10 days later when the other far right party he helped put in power was celebrating.)
