Jeff Tiedrich posted this illuminating explanation of Trump’s latest nominations.
Is Charles Kushner qualified to hold one of the most prestigious ambassadorships? No. But what qualifies him is that he is the father of Jared Kushner, Trump’s son-in-law. The French will be polite but they will laugh at Kushner, at Trump, and at us, for electing the Insurrectionist. From The NY Times: “Mr. Kushner, 70, pleaded guilty in 2004 to 16 counts of tax evasion, a single count of retaliating against a federal witness and one of lying to the Federal Election Commission”
Is Kash Patel qualified to lead the FBI? A thousand times no. The Republicans who worked for Trump hated him. In the post, you will see that Patel said that if he ran the FBI, he would close down its headquarters on Day 1 and disperse the 7,000 people who work there to be cops and catch bad guys. He would then turn the FBI headquarters into “a museum of the deep state.” A total Trump lackey. A typical Trumpian view of government service.
Trump is rapidly creating a true kakistocracy. The definition is in the post.

I wonder how much Trump is alienating Republican legislators, do Republicans want to dismantle the FBI? The French media is going to love their new American ambassador, his nomination is an insult,
btw, this is just the beginning…

Trump doesn’t care if he alienates people. He’s been doing that all of his life. If they don’t like what he does and says anything about it, then he finds a way to get revenge.
I’ve read pieces where two other billionaires said all Trump does is complain about his enemies and how he’d get revenge on all of them one day. Trump also counts people who say no to him as enemies. If Trump asks someone for a loan and they turn him down, they go on that list.

One can say he learned well from his mentor Roy Cohn.

I fear we are in for a load of hurt. We need to hang on and start from the ground up. Local elections in a year can be the start of our new Revolution. That’s the first step until the midterms.
Those uneducated fools that voted for the Orange Turd will most likely be hurt the lost. Position yourself now to weather out the impending storm.

Kushner is probably being tasked with talking France into believing they don’t really need the USA in NATO to defend them. I hope they don’t buy into that.
Don’t parents teach their kids to be very leery of people who are trying to sell them stuff anymore? My birth father was an outside salesman and I learned at a very young age sales people like that could be very charming while convincing you to give up an arm and a leg by overpaying or agreeing to long range payment plans that charge interest for buying crappy stuff and/or things you don’t really need.
I think the tRumps & Kushners are primary examples of unscrupulous salespeople who are right up there with snake oil peddlers and used car dealers, on the list of shady sales people who folks should be very leery of today. At a minimum, they should be included in the already notorious real estate category, along with purveyors of swamp land and the London bridge, but tRump expanded to include virtually ALL areas of sales…
