A friend suggested that Democrats should sign Elon Musk’s petition so that his prize of $1 million a day could be shared by voters from both parties.
I googled his petition and discovered that only voters in the 7 battleground states are eligible to win, so that rules me out.
There has been debate about whether Musk’s money offer is legal. I don’t think it is legal. Federal law forbids paying people to vote or to register to vote.
He is offering not only $1 million a day to one person who signs up (the first three winners were–Surprise!–in Pennsylvania), but the petition pays $47 for every other person you refer who signs up.
I conclude: Yes, sign up. Get a chance to win $1 million from Elon. Why not? If you win, send Kamala a gift.
Carol Burris agrees. She writes:
Elon Musk is too cute by half.
He is attempting to buy the election by encouraging potential Trump voters to sign a petition in favor of the First and Second Amendments.
There are questions about the legality of his attempt, but it will not shut down anytime soon.
There is a way to undermine, if not stop it. Disrupt it.
Sign it. https://petition.theamericapac.org
Let his money go to Harris voters.
Can you imagine what he would do if the million-dollar prize went to a Harris supporter?
Can you imagine if enough folks who do not support Trump entered his database?
Give Elon and his minions extra work and a headache.
America cannot be bought.
Sign the petition and disrupt it.

And be sure to put in a referral name– let’s drain Elon’s “buy the election” fund.

When I saw a clip of Musk talking about the “department” he bought and was going to run if Trump wins, his attitude was one of playing with toy airplanes or dolls–the American people–all the same to him.
And the Russians are going to be hard pressed to paint a fake picture of either Kamala Harris or Tim Waltz that is worse than what the real Trump has already done and continues to do. Good luck with that.
And BTW, do you think Trump hung around with Jeffrey Epstein because he liked the kind of coffee he drank?
And with Musk, you are looking at a wildly successful stint with STEM but sadly without literature, history, social sciences, or philosophy–you know, the kind of education that focuses on one’s humanity.
They have names in the DSM for the mental problems of what half of the American people are involved in as we speak, not to mention in philosophy and its ethics departments–or even logic. Commonsense has it as burying one’s head in the sand. CBK

He’s using the Trump playbook–“You don’t like what I did or what I’m doing, go ahead & sue me”! They know that it will take lots of time & the damage will be done by the time they are adjudicated. Even if they lose a lawsuit, it’s just a matter of business & they will pay the fine if need be.

Giuliani has to relinquish his NYC penthouse and all his valuables to the two election workers he defamed and endangered. No word yet on whether he can keep his Palm beach condo.

I heard Rudy got to keep his grandfather’s watch but nothing else. Of course, Trump will chip in. CBK

No. His son Andrew says that Rudy gave him his three Yankees World Series rings. The judge has not yet ruled on them. I didn’t hear anything about a family watch. He does however have a collection of very valuable Rolex watches. He has to turn them over. Also a 1980 Mercedes that once belonged to Lauren Bacall. And the $2 million in legal fees that Trump owes him. (Trump probably will never pay.)
From CNN:
In addition to the Trump campaign fees and the New York apartment, Giuliani must also turn over a collection of several watches, including ones given to him by European presidents after the September 11, 2001, attacks; a signed Joe DiMaggio jersey and other sports memorabilia; and a 1980 Mercedes once owned by the Hollywood star Lauren Bacall. Additionally, the judge ordered that Giuliani turn over his television, items of furniture and jewelry.
Liman hasn’t yet decided if Giuliani will be able to keep a Palm Beach, Florida, condominium he also owns, or the four New York Yankees World Series rings he has, which Giuliani’s son contends his father gave him.
Michael Gottlieb, a lawyer for Freeman and Moss, told CNN’s Erin Burnett on “OutFront” that the judge’s order was a “necessary and key step in our clients’ ability to start to recover some of what has been taken away from them.”

So the plan is to increase republican voter registration by getting people to sign the petition? So if democrats sign it messes the whole thing up?

Democrats should have the same chance to win $1 million from Musk.

The U.S. Department of Justice warned Musk today of a federal law prohibiting people from paying to vote or to register. The maximum fine is $10,000, with up to five years in jail.
The fine is pocket change for Musk.

So much for Musk’s and Trump’s ability to think things through to their potential outcomes and worthiness.

I am certainly in favor of the Second Amendment. I believe the National Guard and the official state militias (my father was a member of the oldest state militia in the country, founded in 1638) should be appropriately armed.
After all, the state militias are the last line of defense, right?
