Trump sells Bibles; Trump sells whatever he can brand. He recently realized he could monetize the suit he was wearing when he was booked in Atlanta. To Trump lovers, a piece of the suit he wired when he was booked in Atlant—no matter how small—is akin to buying a thread of the Shroud of Turin.
“It was a great suit, believe me, a really good suit. It’s all cut up, and you’re gonna get a piece of it,” Trump said in a video announcing the sale.
Of course, he made a point of glowering for his mug shot, making a face that is now sold on mugs, T-shirts, and other items. other people might feel ashamed to be booked. Trump immediately recognized it as a chance to make money.
Trump is utterly shameless.
Trump wore a blue suit when he was arrested and had his mugshot taken at an Atlanta jail in August. The former Apprentice host has already monetized the mugshot: on his campaign website, people can buy coffee mugs, T-shirts and Christmas stockings bearing the image.
The move into fabric sales is a new one, however.
To buy a piece of the suit, people first have to buy 47 “digital trading cards”, each featuring an illustration of Trump, through the Collect Trump Cards website. Buyers will then receive a bit of the suit, or tie, that Trump wore when he was arrested – on charges related to his attempts to overturn the election – at Fulton county jail in August 2023.‘
The suit, according to the website description, is “the most historically significant artifact in United States history”.
The suit is described as “priceless”. People can buy a piece of it for $4,699.53.

Here’s a good antidote for all this flouting of the law:

If they didn’t put a muzzle on him to keep him from talking, he’d turn that into another propaganda shit show. He needs to be gagged with one of those ball-gags that’s a sex toy.

Well, as another reader said, Team Trump could buy 100 cheap suits and see them as the Shroud of Trump. Who would know?

I would not be surprised to read “Trump is selling pieces of shit from his visit to the courthouse in Atlanta.”

I think it’s a safe bet that they’ve already done that.
But Traitor Trump won’t spend the money to order more suits until the orders have been placed. That’s what he did with the red bottomed gold tennis shoes. He sold them before having any made. Whoever bought the tennis shoes will have to wait for weeks, months.

OMG! For once, I’m speechless. No, wait, I’m not. Buying a piece of Trump’s sweaty suit is like buying a hair from Hitler’s moustache. And I thought we won WWII. I guess it’s true that fascism never dies…it returns in various thin disguises. When I was eight years old, we were told Hitler shot himself in his bunker. But trash magazines–published by Peckers of the time–kept him alive for years and years, with front page stories: “Hitler’s Still Alive–and Living in Argentina!” Etc.
I think Hitler’s final demise came when comedians used him as a foil–as in Bob Newhart’s bit about riding on a plane and discovering Adolf Hitler in the next seat: “Is that Adolf Hitler sitting next to me?!” Or John Cleese’s wonderful goose-stepping impersonation as Adolf Hilter.
“Tis a consummation devoutly to be wished.”

Too bad he didn’t use a condom in his brief encounter with Stormy. Imagine how much he could have sold it for in today’s market.
But he still has a chance to sell his soiled underpants to eager buyers. $50K a pair for Trump’s Lumps.

Cohen testimony ends and is the last witness. Then the defense will sensationalize and probably talk about Hunter Biden. Then the jury. A decision. Maybe he goes to jail. Maybe he goes to Florida. Martyr or hero.
And it will be old news in a week.
Step way back. The overused Howard Beale comparison is not about “mad as hell.” What Network gave us was the first REALITY TV SHOW.
Trump got that. He is that. It works and he ran with it.
trump gave and is still giving a majority of Americans what they want. Someone to stand up to the government, bureaucracy, and the man. Someone who has no filter. He gets to yell at the Constitution and Congress and political parties and people. John Q. Americans want to yell at their bosses. He does that and gets their vote.
Loudmouth stance on issues. Says things everyday people think but can’t say out loud. Publicity stunts. Trigger words and dog whistles to keep the base on call (just waiting for a tweet to be released). Bigger than life promises to billionaires to claim he will not play by any rules.
Just another episode of trump the reality show.
In this week’s episode, the huckster sells the suit he wore when he was booked.
There are a hundred lies and egregious actions we’ve reacted to week after week, year after year. He has numbed America to the importance of it. It’s war on the other side of the world that is on page 8, we read the headline, and move on.
We can dissect this a hundred ways. He survived Access Hollywood and the rest is gross detail.
The only way to get him off the political stage is to give him an EMMY and tell him HE’S IN THE TOP 5 TV RATINGS. We think he wants to be president.
He wants people to hoot and holler, kiss his ring, and show up to be “the largest audience ever to see a man on a stage.” So throw him a party, give him a medal, and THEN he’ll go away.

We are in bizarre universe territory with this latest nuttiness from Trump. It’s insane and only true Trump acolytes could take it seriously, otherwise it’s fodder for late night comedians.
$4,699.53 is a curious amount of money to ask for a piece of cloth. Why not $4,700.00 or $5,000.00? The ordinary man and woman in the streets could not afford this amount of money. So are there this many stupid rich people who would fall for this nonsense? You can’t make this stuff up, it’s the stuff of fiction. Yet another reason why Trump should not be anywhere near the White House.
And as Christine points out, it’s probably not even the actual suit.

Took me a while to figure it out. The suckers don’t buy a piece of the Shroud of Urine. Each receives a piece of cloth by purchasing 47 of the ridiculous digital trading cards. And $4,699.53 divided by 47 equals $99.99 per card. T***p probably markets the cards as “Under $100 each.”
Let’s see. At a (mythically) Barnum-like one sucker born per minute, that’s 525,600 suckers born per year. At a mean age of 35 for voters, that 16,768,000 suckers around at any given time. If just 0.1% of them fall for this latest act of grift in the first degree, the total haul is 16,768 x $4,699.53, a/k/a $78,801,719.04. Almost covers the E. Jean Carroll damages.

Speaking of attempting to “look hard,” there is a turd troll who shows up here every time the topic is immigration, and this person said something that has haunted me ever since, that I and others who support immigration to the United States because of its many benefits are “sentimental.” I thought of the Wannasee Conference and of someone balking at the plan under discussion and being told not to be sentimental.
Repugnicans operate from greed and from fear of The Other. They are basically cowards, as a lot of political science studies suggest, and for this reason, they like playing at being tough guys. Here’s the thing: when given power, that playing at being a tough guy becomes violence against innocents. Consider, for example, how wounded child become malignant narcissist Donald Trump wanted his Secretary of Homeland Security to order the Border Patrol to shoot innocent, unarmed asylum seekers. This is cadet bone spurs being tough.

P. T. Barnum has nothing on trump, or maybe trump is his reincarnation. “the most historically significant artifact in United States history.” is a total joke. Liberty Bell or original U. S. Constitution anyone? It’s an even money bet that what’s being sold is a polyester suit from a thrift store.
