Rudy Guiliani admitted that he defamed two Georgia election workers by accusing them of fraudulently switching ballots. The two are mother and daughter Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss. As a result of his repeated accusations on national television, which were repeated by Trump, calling them out by name, the pair were subjected to continual threats, harassment, and intimidation. They are suing Guiliani for a sum between $15.5 million and $43.5 million. Jury selection begins today.
The showdown between the financially strapped Giuliani and the two temporary poll workers he baselessly accused of ballot tampering in 2020 will highlight a major court battle over false claims that became central to former president Donald Trump’s efforts to stay in power and is now at the heart of two criminal cases against him.
U.S. District Judge Beryl A. Howell has already found Giuliani liable for more than a dozen defamatory statements against Ruby Freeman and Wandrea ArShaye “Shaye” Moss, who are mother and daughter, leaving a jury of eight only to decide how much he should pay in damages for violent threats and harassment the pair received. Howell previously ordered Giuliani to pay the women $230,000 in legal fees and sanctions for failing to turn over relevant information. She said those failures, combined with Giuliani’s own admissions, compelled her to rule without a trial that he defamed both women, intentionally inflicted emotional distress on them as part of a civil conspiracy, and owes punitive damages.
If you want to hear the details of what happened to them, watch this clip from the Rachel Maddow show. In addition to hearing their story, you will also hear testimony from the #2 official at the Justice Department, Richard Donahue, who testified to the January 6 Commission that he met with Trump and told him that the Justice Department had investigated all his claims of election fraud and found no evidence for them.

Maddow related the harassment these two poll workers received in the hands of Trump storm troopers. You cannot really call them by another name. That poll workers would be singled out for this behavior on the part of a party without uniform condemnation by this party is evidence that it (The GOP) is no longer a party but is now a part of an organized crime group which has as its focus the domination/destruction of our Republic and the disenfranchisement of huge numbers of voters.

It is so past time for this old drunk to get a healthy serving of justice. I have always had the same thought about him that I do about Lady Grey: Why the sudden slavish devotion to Trump to the point of utter absurdity? Does Russian intelligence have something really damning on him?

There must be some explanation, beyond simply being a drunk, for this extreme behavior.

Which makes me wonder whether he actually has dementia or is working on his own version of the bathrobe defense.

That dumpster has gotten away with lying, cheating, and worse…forever. He did this as a child and was given a pass by his father. Trumpsy Dumpsy is being himself. If anyone thinks he can change and become a decent human being…well…WAKE UP. Trump being a decent human ain’t gonna happen.
I am so sick of that disgusting person, if one can even call him a person.

I recall reading recently that TRAITOR Trump, even after Giuliani admitted they were lies, and FOX fake NEWS paid almost a billion dollars to Dominion for supporting Traitor Trump’s endless lies, is still attacking Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss with the same BS.
The TRAITOR has lost two court cases to date, and he is NOW a convicted rapist in a jury trial, fined $5,000,000 (that isn’t over yet, because the TRAITOR is still publicly calling his victim a liar, and I think she’s taking him to court again for that).
The TRAITOR has also been convicted fraud in the New York case where the TRAITOR didn’t request a jury trial and then lied and said the judge didn’t let him have a jury. The penalty phase of that guilty verdict hasn’t been concluded yet. The prosecution is asking for $250,000,000.
The judge may rule higher or lower and then there’s a chance that many of the members of the TRUMP crime family, including the TRAITOR, will end up serving prison sentences.
Now that the first two dominoes have fallen, I think there will be more to tumble leading to an avalanche of cases that will pick the Trump crime family’s carcass clean to the bone until nothing’s left.
The only member of that crime family to escape justice may be Ivanca, since she married into wealth that’s not controlled by the TRAITOR.
What I want to know is why the legal system is tip-toeing around on eggshells, hot coals and broken glass, when it comes to prosecuting this crime family and it’s traitorous troll of a leader.

To the Tune of “Normandy,” from the musical Once Upon a Mattress
Dialogue to cue song:
RUDE-OAF THE BROWN-NOSE REIGN DEAR: Wow. I’m gonna lose this thing. And the voting machine thing. And the other, you know, uh, sex thing. Pretty soon, I’ll be living on the street. You gotta help me, Donald.
DON THE CON: Don’t worry, Rudy old pal. You know that the Queen Bee wouldn’t leave one of her ladies in waiting in utter distress without coming to the rescue.
RUDE-OAF: But, actually, Don, you would, you know.
DON THE CON: Just hold on. Listen for a minute. I have an idea.
DON (sings while doing his weird little waddle dance with his fists up):
Sochi in Russia is fine and fair.
So Sochi in Russia’s where we’ll go.
I can show you a beach
Where the models all go.
And I know how to reach
A man who knows a man who knows
RUDE: Putin?
DON: You betcha.
DON (continues singing):
A cozy dacha,
A friendly place
With hookers and fixtures made of gold.
This time of year, the grift I hear
Is easy, clear, and free
In old Sochi!

Let’s face it. Guiliani has always been a sleazy shyster. After 9/11 he was “the people’s mayor, a hero, and there was talk of running him for President. Thank goodness that idea never went anywhere. However, he was always surrounded by scandal and inappropriate behavior.

Back in the day when he was pursuing mobsters, this wasn’t so, to my knowledge. Something happened to send him down this dark path. Was it alcoholism? Kompromat? A combination of these? Something else? What he has become is just too freaking weird. He’s a ghoulish caricature.
