Many of us are looking for ways to help people in Ukraine. The Red Cross. Doctors Without Borders. There are many great humanitarian organizations you can support.
In addition, many Americans have found a way to send money directly to Ukrainians. They are renting rooms or apartments on AirBNB that they will never use. But the hosts in Ukraine will receive the money, if they are still alive.
You can also rent a room with an ocean view in beautiful Odessa. Act fast! Only $17 a night.
I went to the AirBNB site to rent something in Kiev. Every place I tried was sold out in March. Some were sold out in April. Go to May and book a room! The prices are very reasonable.

The serial murderer, war criminal, liar, and thief from his country, Vladimir Putin, is now attempting to make up for the incompetence and terrible morale and pathetic equipment of his armed forces in Ukraine by heavy shelling of Ukrainian civilians. This is happening in Kiev as I write this.

Must seem odd, Dienne, to be roooting for Putin when the rest of the world (excepting Belarus, North Korea, Syria, and Eritrea) is not. Guess you can’t wait until Putin assassinates Zelensky and his family.

It’s a shame some of the pro-Putin trolls who have posted on this thread don’t care about women and babies in Ukraine dying, but care about justifying why those folks must die so that Putin can achieve the goals his trolls want him to achieve, that are much more important than babies’ lives to them.

My students expressed a concern to me today. They asked me if I think WWIII is coming, and what will happen in Los Angeles if it does. They are afraid. Let’s not forget to deal with the local fallout of the war.
