Joe Biden passed the 270-vote in the electoral college!
He won Pennsylvania, with leads in Arizona and Nevada.
It is a very good day for America and the world!

Our long national nightmare is over!
Trump must go. Pack his bags. Clear out and take I ask, Don Jr., Eric, and Stephen Miller with him.
And the best part, (of so many). Bye, Bye, Betsy…
DeVoid, aka Clueless DeVille, younger sister of Cruella, didn’t even achieve the distinction of becoming the worst Secretary of Education ever, though she tried and tried and tried. I think Dunkin’ Duncan still holds that tile.

Kamala breaks the news to “Joe”:
Trumpty Dumpty wanted a wall.
Trumpty Dumpty had a great fall.
All of his whining and lawyering men
just couldn’t help him to win again.
This just in:
Donald Trump furious that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris stole the election by convincing the majority of Americans to vote for them.
I’m definitely stealing this line the next time I encounter a member of the cult of the Idiot.
Time to celebrate with a little song, a little dance, a little seltzer down your pants. Take the weekend, folks, and let’s start working for sane education policies on Monday morning!
Haaaaa!!!! Wonderful!!!!
Masterful!
I was waiting to see a picture of Melania Trump dancing on the third floor of the White House.
I loved every second of that!
“Yes, this is a BIG DEAL.The character of this country matters.”
This was exactly how I felt as a parent. So glad I don’t have to repeat the nightmare of 4 years ago, explaining to my kid how someone like Trump gets elected the leader of this nation by the people in it.
Yes, yes, yes
It is a good day in America. Biden and Harris are two people that deserve the win through their hard work, commitment and service. I hope they can restore faith in our country at home and around the world, and I hope we can work on building bridges instead of walls.
Amen

But let Biden’s team take the cannoli! They deserve it.
I’ve been reading Ron Chernow’s biography of Ulysses Grant. I wake up in the middle of the night, worried about the country, worried about my school… So, I’ve been deep into that book.
There’s a section about the presidential election of 1864 which was a “major test” of democracy. Ralph Waldo Emerson said “Seldom in history was so much staked on a popular vote…” Absentee ballots (mostly from soldiers) played a key and controversial role that year.
Later on, closer to the end of the war, Lincoln is quoted as referencing a comment by Secretary of State William Seward, who said “there was always just enough virtue in this republic to save it; sometime none to spare but still enough to meet the emergency…”
Well, here we are again. It sure was a close one this week. But we seemed to have found ‘just enough virtue’.
Now to reconstruct the nation for the 21st century.
Wonderful observation, John. Best to you and yours!!!
You, too, Bob. Great to share this moment with you and the wonderful people on Diane’s blog.
Virtuorious
By virtue of our virtue
We’ll last another day
And hatred can not hurt you
If virtue holds the sway
Love it.
John, I have come to trust that you will bring an interesting slant to discussion here. Thanks for that.
Thanks, Roy. Just saw your comment now. I was out enjoying a very sunny, warm afternoon in these parts. Hope you could really savor this moment, too.
Another celebration song, with lyrics appropriate to this occasion:
“Can’t you … feel a … brand new day?”

My congratulations to the North Americans!
All the Democratic people in the world are celebrating.

Yeah. Now an era of calm, thought, morality…

Great!
But, one thing I have learned about life is, “It isn’t over until it is OVER.” As long as Trump has a voice and his Twitter account, he will continue to haunt the world now that he has a global stage and the media gives him so much free space and time reporting everything he says and dies.
If the traditional media decided to ignore whatever he does and stop reporting his shock and awe alternate reality based on lies and unproven conspiracy theories after he is out of the White House, that might stop him.
Trump’s circus of lies and horrors to steal the election and stay president as long as he wants will continue until January 20, 2021, or until the US Supreme Court stops him and rules that the election is over, no more court challenges.
Trump’s next Twitter rant campaign will be when he announces he is running for president in 2024. That could be any moment or the same day he leaves the White House walking on his own or strapped to a gurney and rolled out.
Trump could also run to a country that will not extradite him for his crimes and become the Kremlin’s voice bashing everyone he hates in the United States, but from Moscow.
There are only two ways Trump will be stopped.
ONE – Trump dies due to complications from COVID-19. That could happen anytime in the next few days or he could become reinfected and die the 2nd time around. Maybe he has a stroke and ends up braindead.
TWO – Trump is dragged into court repeatedly and ends up losing everything but his life with a court order barring him from social media and holding rallies. He’ll fight that court ruling, too, until he is isolated in a padded cell with no contact allowed with the outside world.
Trump and his deplorable Trumplicans are not going to go silently into the night. They are going to make it difficult for Biden to be president.
When it comes to Trump and what his supporters think, there is no “agree to disagree”.
He has to be jailed. He and his slimy spawn. Only that will shut them up.
I hope he goes out of life the same way Al Capon did. Leavenworth federal prison is not a nice place but is just the place Trump and his spawn should live for many, many years.
At least Al Capone had some redeeming qualities. He was a patron of jazz musicians and had a connoisseur’s palate for good rye whiskey. And he was relatively honest about his dishonesty.
“My crown I am, but still my griefs are mine. You may my glories and my state depose but not my griefs; still I am king of those.”
A prescient Shakespeare, in dual context, could have had pretender Trump and the Fourth district of New York in mind.
“A pardon, a pardon! My Presidency for a pardon!” — Donald Trump III
Not true
Well, for four years now, Trump has been promising “in a couple of weeks” his “big, beautiful healthcare plan” that is “so much better than Obamacare.”
Trump on Covid, healthcare, and so much else: the man with no plan and the tan in the can.
Of course, when referring to cadet bone spurs, I am using the term “man” VERY loosely.
I predict that Trmpkin will manage to be banned from twitter before Thxgiving.
Grover Cleveland is the rare US President, who served two non-consecutive terms (1885-1889 & 1893-1897). 🙂
Similar to Richard Nixon, Joe Biden is the rare vice-president not to succeed the president he served with, but become president later on. 🙂
It has been a very rough time since Nov. 3, 2020.
I just sent a closeup photo of Joe Biden, with his L arm around my shoulders, to my brother and others who know he will do a much better job than Trump. The photo was taken on April 30, 2012 in Munster, IN.
It was a HUGE sigh of relief to realize that Biden won. I couldn’t watch the news because every time I saw something that said Trump was ahead, I’d feel very terrified.
Trump will squeal and fight but he lost it simply because more people can’t stand him than think he’s doing a fantastic job.
Totally agree. I will not be able to cheer for joy until Trump and all his minions, including his family, are gone, gone, gone from anything that can affect/effect the citizens of the United States and the rest of the world.
The evil, vile devil will be leaving the White House. Hopefully he and his family will leave our lives forever.

I am interested in what the rest of the world has to say about the Biden/Harris win over Trump/Pence.
The negative impact on the rest of the world was tremendous.

Last year I was interviewed by a journalist from the Netherlands. Out of the blue, he wrote me to say how thrilled he and the people of the Netherlands are about the victory of Biden-Harris.
I feel like that Alice Cooper song.
Well we got our choice
All the girls and boys
Makin all that noise
‘Cause of the dead Trump ploys
Well we can’t salute ya
Can’t find a flag
If that don’t suit ya
That’s a drag
Trump’s out for summer
Trump’s out forever
Trump’s been blown to pieces
No more sharpies
No more unread books
No more Betsy’s sneering looks
Well they got no class
And they got no principles
And they got no intelligence
We can’t even think of a word that rhymes
Trump’s out for summer
Trump’s out forever
Trump’s been blown to pieces
No more sharpies
No more unread books
No more Betsy’s sneering looks
Out for summer
Out till fall
We might not go back at all
Trump’s out forever
Trump’s out for summer
Trump’s out with fever
Trump’s out (almost) completely
“We can’t even think of a word that rhymes..” is one of the great lyrics in rock history.
Funny thing is, now that Trump is on the way OUT, I can only hope school is back IN, sooner (and much, much safer) than later.
BTW thanks to you I will now have this tune in the front of my brain the rest of the afternoon. But that ain’t a bad place to be on a fine day like this, LCT.
Thanks.
SCARIEST DAYS OF TRUMP PRESIDENCY COULD BE AHEAD He may be a lame duck, but he will have the immense powers of a president and commander in chief — and nothing to lose. [HuffPost]
No more of the following on the desk in the Oval Office!!! 🍔🍟
Be afraid . We still have a chance
Bea The Blog Queen: Yes, we know that Trump is mentally disabled and incapable of doing anything to help this country. He is narcissistic and demented. He cares ONLY about getting more for himself and his crooked three adult children and Jared. Here’s to the SDNY that is already investigating him. May he spend the rest of his life in prison and pay for the continued abuses that he has put on so many people.
Donald Trump bungled the federal government’s response to the pandemic and made the number of infections and deaths far worse than they should have been if we had had competent leadership.
Of the many scandalous things that Trump has done in his presidency, the separation of children from the parents at his controversial detention facilities at the US/Mexico border was probably the worst.
When he dismissed Russian interference in the election
When he appointed his unqualified family to top administration roles
When he was literally impeached
When he tried to ban TikTok
When he approved a devastating oil pipeline through Native land
When he called far-right protestors “very fine people”
When he appointed a far-right nationalist his chief strategist [Steve Bannon]
When he imposed a ‘Muslim travel ban’
When he (repeatedly) refused to release his tax returns
When he lied about his inauguration crowd sizes
When repeatedly called Elizabeth Warren “Pocahontas”
When he doubled fees at his resort hotel after becoming president
Tried to penalise ‘sanctuary cities’ for migrants
When he fired the acting attorney general for not defending his travel ban [Sally Yates]
When he tried to buy Greenland
When he seemingly told police officers to rough up suspects “Don’t be too nice”.
When he invented three million “illegal” voters to explain Hillary Clinton winning the popular vote
When he used his platform to ‘cancel’ a tire company “Don’t buy GOODYEAR TIRES – They announced a BAN ON MAGA HATS. Get better tires for far less!”
When he attacked former prisoner of war, John McCain as a “loser”
When he told a sheriff to ‘destroy’ the career of a senator who opposed police officers being able to seize assets
When he appointed Jeff Sessions attorney general While in office, Sessions immediately began undercutting federal rights for LGBTQ people, especially trans individuals.
“If I weren’t happily married and, ya know, her father”
President. Trump has earned himself a whole Wikipedia article devoted entirely to his untruths. Academics, journalists, and fact-checkers have estimated that he lies an average of 23.3 times per day in 2020.
The list goes on for 45 things, but this should give you a ‘taste’ of the “greatness” of Trump. HE has lied over 22,000 times so nobody can believe anything he says.

In the Bible it says everyone lies though. I wish we could all just get along .
And as a Christian I never liked TikTok anyway.
Humans can only do so well leading ppl on earth. We need Jesus.
Bea The Blog Queen: “We need Jesus.”
How can anyone who believe in Jesus still support Trump? Jesus wanted food for the poor and healed this sick.
Trump and the GOP work to cut funding for SNAP so the poor can get less food and therefore, want to work.
Trump’s Ben Carson worked to cut funding for poor people who need tax credits to pay their rent and cut funding for heating bills.
Trump wanted to take away the meager healthcare plan ACA so that millions more would have no health insurance.
‘A terrible time to be poor’: Cuts to SNAP benefits will hit 700,000 hungry Americans
A new Trump administration policy would leave many Americans without food stamps. Food banks are worried they won’t be able to make up the difference.
…Holteen, 32, is one of an estimated 36 million Americans on food stamps, a federal benefits program that President Donald Trump’s administration wants to cut dramatically…
https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2019/12/21/trump-food-stamps-cut-snap-benefits-more-hungry-americans/2710146001/
You still haven’t listed the great accomplishments that Trump did.
Christians have been battling this battle since this country started . They both think God is on their side. Who can be sure?! It’s as simple as this …. I like Trump because I don’t like abortion , I don’t like gun control , and I like a booming economy. Remember , it doesn’t make me a bad Christian because I don’t agree with you . That’s all. 🙂
I can choose by myself to feed the sick and help the poor. And donate to those in need. I dont want the government to make All of my decisions. I’m a proud American. I’m a loving Christian . I love this country and only want the best for it .
I can choose by myself to feed the sick and help the poor.
Good luck on providing assistance to 8 million MORE Americans. Surely you have a ton of extra money laying around to help all of these people. Churches and food banks do not have the resources to help this many people but you can make up the difference.

8 million Americans slipped into poverty amid coronavirus pandemic, new study says
Researchers looked at the devastating financial effect the pandemic has had on Americans, with Blacks, Latinos and children faring the worst.
Oh then since the odds are SO LOW that I could ever HELP ANYONE I just want you to know that’s not very encouraging. Telling people that they CANT do something makes them not even want to try . I love Jesus . I’m a republican. Apparently that’s bothering a lot of people.
If 8 million Christians in America could give a little money to an organization of some sort to help poor children then it could be possible. Anything is possible through God.
You do not love Jesus. You love Trump.
I doubt you know what an oxymoron is, but that’s one.
You can’t revere both of them because they are opposites.
Trump thinks only of himself, never of other.
Jesus said that it would be easier for a camel to slip through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter heaven.
You know where Trump is heading. It’s not heaven.
You seem to be a very intelligent person! I’m glad you are so concerned at what’s happening in this country and what’s happening with the poor ppl . These are signs of a true disciple ! Have an amazing day! I respect your opinion I hope you can respect mine . GOD BLESS YOU!

To: President-elect Joe Biden & U.S. Congress
In 2021, President-elect Joe Biden will have many important issues to address: from combating climate change and gun violence, to overcoming the coronavirus pandemic and dismantling systemic racism in America. But in order for the next administration to do that effectively, we need to build a stronger and more representative democracy.
That’s why Biden must urge Congress to pass the For the People Act (HR 1) as a first priority in their administration.
In March 2019, the For the People Act (HR 1) passed the House with unanimous support from the Democratic caucus, and is supported by every Democrat in the Senate — yet the Senate Majority Leader refuses to bring it up for a vote.
The For the People Act is a once-in-a-generation package of proven reforms that would:
Expand and protect voting rights and access to the ballot;
Put ordinary Americans ahead of Big Money donors;
End gerrymandering so that electoral districts are fairly drawn; and
Clean up government and hold elected officials to the highest ethical standards.
This bill would transform our political system into one that is more inclusive, responsive, and representative of the American people.
The American people are tired of a government that serves only the wealthy and corporate interests. We demand a democracy that works for all of us.
We need a democracy where voters are protected from discrimination and can make themselves heard at the ballot box. A democracy where electoral districts are drawn fairly, so that every voter’s ballot is of equal value. A democracy that isn’t bought and paid for by the highest corporate bidder. And a democracy where ordinary Americans — more women, people of color, and working people — can run for office without relying on big corporate dollars.
Just imagine what we could accomplish in 2021 and beyond if our government actually worked for us.
Sign your name to show the next administration and Congress that Day 1 is for Democracy. Demand that the For People Act is a first priority of the next administration and Congress.

Pride at work? I don’t support that.
And I don’t have a TON of money. I’m 15
If you are only age 15, then that can explain your limited vision of what is happening in this country.
Hopefully, as you mature, your understanding will grow with the experiences that you have. Some people are able to grow and learn, and some never do.
Hope you are in the group that learns with time that all people are created equal in the eyes of God but some are starving, don’t have a decent home, drink polluted water and fear for their children to not have a good life. Some children at this time, will have a much worse life than their parents.
When you reach adulthood, hopefully you will realize that one of our political parties stands for helping many and the other stands for helping those who already have way too much.
Democrats are not perfect but they do a much better job than Republicans.
I know that everyone is created equal in the eyes of god . I’m a believer
It is too bad Trump does not believe everyone is created equal. That fact is proven everyday by everything he says and does. Trump does not know the true meaning of the 10 Commandments and the concept of “Love Thy Neighbor” is completely foreign to him. Trump has broken at least nine of the Ten Commandments and I am not to sure that he hasn’t been complicit in the last one. Trump is not a Christian by any reasonable definition.
If you are 15, there is hope that you might get an education and understand why government has an important role in protecting the health and wellbeing of its citizens.
Come back if you ever get a college diploma, unless it is from a narrow-minded evangelical college.
If you think the government has no role in helping the sick and poor, I hope you never apply for Medicare or need food stamps or Social Security.
When you become eligible for such programs, be sure to reject them and go to your church and ask your fellow Trumpers to support your needs.
“I like a booming economy.”
Is it booming? For whom? I haven’t heard any boom, whatesoever.
You are a very bad Christian because Jesus would not approve of racism, sexism, hatred for people from other countries, and putting murder weapons in the hands of crazy people.
You are not on the side of Christianity or of Jesus.
“We need Jesus.”
Jesus died 2000 years ago, and he hasn’t been seen since, so I doubt, we can count on his leadership. This fact hasn’t stopped various characters throughout history to claim he had been leading them to reach their shady goals. The movement against abortion rights is just one of the latest fake Jesus-led attack against innocent people. If Jesus was alive, he’d probably suit these impostors.
If Jesus were alive today, the imposters who claim to act in his name would lock him up.
Or worse. Otherwise he may ruin their vision of the future.
Maybe many people lie a little but when one is powerful and can’t contain the lies, it becomes total destruction. Trump has brought lying to a new level never seen before in politics in the U.S.
Now tell me in exact detail what Trump has done that benefits anyone except the wealthy.
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Donald Trump has made many false or misleading statements, including thousands during his presidency. Commentators and fact-checkers have described this as “unprecedented” in American politics, and the consistency of these falsehoods has become a distinctive part of both his business and political identity. Trump is known to have made controversial statements and subsequently denied having done so, and by June 2019, many news organizations had started describing some of his falsehoods as lies. The Washington Post said his frequent repetition of false claims amounts to a campaign based on disinformation. According to writer and journalist Nancy LeTourneau, the debasing of veracity is a tactic. By October 16, 2020, The Washington Post’s Fact Checker database had counted 25,653 false or misleading statements.
Veracity and politics
“It has long been a truism that politicians lie,” wrote Carole McGranahan for the American Ethnologist journal in 2017. However, “Donald Trump is different” from other politicians, stated McGranahan, citing that Trump is the most “accomplished and effective liar” thus far to have ever participated in American politics. McGranahan felt that “the frequency, degree, and impact of lying in politics are now unprecedented” as a result of Trump.
Presidential historian Douglas Brinkley of Rice University stated that past U.S. presidents have indeed “lied or misled the country,” but none of them were a “serial liar” like Trump.Donnel Stern, writing in the Psychoanalytic Dialogues journal in 2019, declared: “We expect politicians to stretch the truth. But Trump is a whole different animal,” because Trump “lies as a policy,” and he “will say anything” to satisfy his supporters or himself.
Heidi Taksdal Skjeseth, writing for the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism in 2017, described lies having “always been an integral part of politics and political communication”. However, Trump was “delivering untruths on an unprecedented scale” in U.S. politics, both during his presidential campaign and during his presidency. Skjeseth also commented that no one in French politics was comparable to Trump in his provision of falsehoods.
“Fabrications have long been a part of American politics,” wrote Sheryl Gay Stolberg in The New York Times in 2017, as several presidents in the previous 50 years have lied. Stolberg cited that Dwight Eisenhower lied about a U.S. spy plane shot down over the Soviet Union, Lyndon Johnson lied to justify U.S. policies regarding Vietnam, and Bill Clinton lied to conceal his sexual affair. Meanwhile, Stolberg recounts that Richard Nixon was accused of lying in the Watergate scandal, while George W. Bush was accused of lying about the need for the Iraq War (with Donald Trump being one accuser of Bush lying). However, Stolberg states that “President Trump, historians and consultants in both political parties agree, appears to have taken what the writer Hannah Arendt once called ‘the conflict between truth and politics’ to an entirely new level … Trump is trafficking in hyperbole, distortion and fabrication on practically a daily basis.”
Mark Barabak of the Los Angeles Times has described in 2017 that U.S. presidents “of all stripes” have previously misled the public, either accidentally or “very purposefully”. Barabak provided examples of Ronald Reagan, who falsely stated that he had filmed Nazi death camps, and Barack Obama, who falsely stated that “if you like your healthcare plan, you can keep it” under his Affordable Care Act. However, Barabak goes on to state that “White House scholars and other students of government agree there has never been a president like Donald Trump, whose volume of falsehoods, misstatements and serial exaggerations” is unparalleled.
As a Christian I look at both sides and I see that from a Christian point of view I agree with Trump more than Biden . I’m by no means saying trump is perfect. Not at all. But I like some of the things he’s doing . Also we aren’t rich and we were effected by trump tax lower. Have an amazing day!
Bea The Blog Queen:”But I like some of the things he’s doing .”
WHAT DID HE DO TO HELP ORDINARY PEOPLE? DETAILED LIST!!
Do you really like the fact that Trump has cut food stamps for poor people? That he did nothing to stop the spread of COVID-19 so that thousand more have died?
What I like is the fact he hasn’t started a war. And that he’s letting us keep our guns . We should have the right to have guns . Not everyone uses them poorly. If you ban guns the bad people will still get guns . Then the good can’t defend themselves. Honestly about the virus …. can you expect one person to STOP a pandemic. I really hope you have a good day. I hope ur not mad.
“What I like is the fact he hasn’t started a war.”
How about the ones at home? Just the pandemic will cost more lives than ww2.
Yeah, Beatrice, I am mad.
I am mad about the high school students gunned down at Parkland High School by a disgruntled student who should not have been allowed to own a gun.
I am mad about the children and faculty murdered at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT, by a mentally unstable young man who should have never been allowed in the same home with assault weapons.
I am mad about the dozens of people murdered in Las Vegas while attended an outdoor concert by a gun nut.
I am mad about the dozens of people murdered at the Pulse night club in Orlando when they were out having a good time.
I am mad that people like you make excuses for murderers like them and fight to enable them to have access to murder weapons.
Are you the kind of Christian who endorses racism? Would Jesus approve of tax cuts for the richest people? Do you approve of sexism?
I note that on Christmas Day, Trump was playing golf at his luxury resort, and Biden went to church.
Which is the Christian?
Rupert Murdoch’s New York Post Accuses Trump of ‘Insanity’ Months After Endorsing Him
Jamie Ross
Reporter
Published Dec. 28, 2020 6:08AM ET
New York Post
It’s only been a few months since the New York Post endorsed President Trump for re-election—but a lot has changed since then. On Monday, the Rupert Murdoch-owned newspaper tore into the president, describing him as an insane and tragic King Lear figure who’s so angry and obsessed over his election defeat that he’s threatening to destroy his own presidential legacy. In its editorial, the newspaper writes: “We understand, Mr. President, that you’re angry that you lost. But to continue down this road is ruinous. We offer this as a newspaper that endorsed you, that supported you.” It urges Trump to focus his anger on the Georgia Senate run-offs, saying that if he helps secure the Senate it will also secure his legacy, but warns: “If you insist on spending your final days in office threatening to burn it all down, that will be how you are remembered. Not as a revolutionary, but as the anarchist holding the match.”
Read it at New York Post
Let’s hope he does not “protect his legacy” of tax breaks for the richest (like Rupert Murdoch), thousands of lies, racism, sexism, and ignorance.
“Be afraid . We still have a chance”
None whatesoever, even if you pray 24/7.
Bea, Jesus said that those who will get into heaven are the ones who help the poor and welcome strangers and care for the sick and turn the other cheek. Trump cut school lunches for hundreds of thousands of poor kids while giving huge tax breaks to rich people like him (He inherited three quarters of a billion dollars from his rich Daddy). Trump put poor children from families fleeing violence and poverty into cages and separated them from their parents. Trump called the pandemic a hoax and encouraged people not to wear masks, leading to hundreds of thousands of deaths. Trump ran casinos. He cheated on his wife when she was pregnant with his child. He screamed at his Secretary of Homeland Security because she wouldn’t follow his orders to SHOOT unarmed asylum seekers.
This is NOT Christlike behavior. It’s the exact opposite. Trump was never a church-going guy. He was a rich playboy who ran his businesses into bankruptcy. He decided that he could USE evangelical Christians by pretending to be one of them. His own aides have reported that after that famous prayer meeting in the Oval Office, Trump MADE FUN of the preachers, saying that it was hilarious that they believed that *******. When asked about his favorite Bible verse by a reporter, Trump COULD NOT NAME A SINGLE ONE. Reading a speech that was written for him, Trump called Second Corinthians “Two Corinthians,” Do you know any actual Christians who don’t know that it’s called “Second Corinthians”? Well, Trump doesn’t.
Trump is a crook and a liar and a very evil man. He’s a traitor to his country who abandoned our allies, the Kurds, to be slaughtered, and held up military aid to another ally, Ukraine, at war with Russia until Ukraine could deliver dirt on a political opponent. Trump’s only god is Mammon. He worships only himself. He’s a con man who has played a lot of people. He is the exact opposite of Christlike.
Dear Mr. Trump: “And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done unto me.” –Matt. 25:40
Excuse me? What “chance” do you have? A chance to install Trump despite the fact that he lost both the Electoral College and the popular vote? That’s called a coup. Do you believe in the Constitution? Trump doesn’t.

Just watched a wonderful interview with Cem Özdemir who is one of the leaders of the Bündnis 90/Die Grünen (Alliance 90/The Green Party) in Germany. A practicing Muslim, he said, “now I’m going to allow myself my first beer!” He also said that he was emotionally touched and felt like he had voted with Americans for Biden. Most importantly, he said he was so happy that the relationship between the U.S. and Germany could now be repaired and start taking the threat of Russia seriously again. For those of you who understand German:

I already knew how CNN & MSNBC were going to react; I turned on Fox to see how they reacted. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. They were NOT insisting it was invalid, illegal, fake or anything else. They said Biden won, & while Trump has a right to question results, they doubt there was any coordinated attempt at fraud, & it’s unlikely that even an examination that changed some numbers would affect the final outcome.
Then they asked Fox staffer & Democrat strategist Donna Brazile for her thoughts:

Her powerful, positive message about this election, on — yes — Fox News, is truly inspiring. ! For this deeply emotional call for national unity to be broadcast on Fox is hopefully a pivotal development as she also specifically reaches out to Fox’s regular viewers, saying we want their concerns to be considered also.
I rarely post any news items, but this one is truly important.
Agreed
Did everyone see the “America the Beautiful” video (sung by Ray Charles) that the Biden-Harris campaign put out right after they were finally declared the winners? It’s up on youtube.
It is lovely.
A Country for All Americans. A Future for All Americans. A President for All Americans.
Thanks, Bob!
For some reason, I can’t post links on here. I’m sure it’s possible, but I’m not technically savvy enough to figure it out.
I don’t mean to mansplain (oh no, not me!), but have you tried cutting and pasting?
One more thought:
Though we should certainly take some time to relax & savor this success, DON’T think the struggle is over! Those Trump voters representing nearly 50% of the country are still there & not going away. We still have to find ways to work with them and, most importantly, SHOW UP AT THE POLLS IN 2022. We don’t want a repeat of 2010, where a disgracefully small portion of Democrats bothered to show up to vote.
Celebrations Break Out in Major Cities Across US Following Trump’s Defeat
Biden’s final count could be as high as 306 electoral votes, in an election with a remarkably high turnout.
Joe Biden has finally been elected as the 46th president of the United States, according to the Associated Press, CNN, The New York Timesand other major media outlets. On Saturday morning, after the former vice president took a 34,000-vote lead in Pennsylvania — just above the 0.5% threshold that would have dictated a recount — AP called the Keystone State, and the presidential election, at 11:28 a.m. Eastern time. With that, Donald Trump’s contentious and divisive presidency apparently draws to a close.
According to numerous reports from news sources and social media, celebrations of Biden’s victory have begun to break out in major cities across the country, on a beautiful fall day on the Eastern seaboard and throughout most of the nation.
President-elect Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris will address the nation at 8 p.m. Eastern time from outside the Chase Center in Wilmington, Delaware, according to the AP. All major broadcast networks and news networks will carry the speech live.

Carol, glad to report that by evening here the same day, you can hear & feel the it right in my immediate central-NJ Town nbhd – a party atmosphere, complete with motorcycles roaring around, voices raised in back-yard gatherings — and fireworks!!

After months of difficult campaigning, and days of waiting for the election results to be counted, Democrat Joe Biden has defeated President Donald Trump to become the 46th president of the United States. People in cities across the U.S. hit the streets to celebrate, honking horns, hugging, and gathering in squares. Collected below are early images from cities in the Northeast, with more to come later.

Wonderful pictures! Folks celebrating across the country!
A Biden spokesman said, if Trump does fail to concede, “the United States government is perfectly capable of escorting trespassers out of the White House.”
I have been watching Fox all day long, and it seems that Trumpkin is willing to concede but only after he explored all his legal options. But this is a statement only from his spokesperson and not the President unelect himself
The anchorwoman on Fox also said that she actually thinks that Kamala Harris being the first woman in VP position is really a big deal.
I do not see all the angry conservatives on Fox. What happened to them? These two anchors are pleasant, and Fox shows all these parties all over the country, including all these “Go Home!” signs in front of the White House..
Mate, it must be the weekend FOX commentators. Not the regulars.
Legally, Trump must vacate the White House. He isn’t required to concede. 😐
Georgia, Georgia, the whole day through,
it’s the run-off races, keep Georgia on my mind,
on my mind.
Georgia, Georgia, won’t you please come through,
and leave the days of Turtledumb behind?
Just two more seats, and that’s all she wrote
for Mitch McConnell, that sick old goat,
and Lady Grey in her petticoat.
Make Harris the deciding vote.
Georgia, Georgia, we’re countin’ on you,
to say “Hasta la vista” to Loeffler and Perdue.
Georgia: the stake in the heart of the vampire!
I would like to suggest that my tie-breaker idea would have long ago settled this matter, and all the talk of conspiracy that some intend to use to divide the country would be silenced. And it is simple.
We should agree on a threshold at which the electoral votes would be split between the two largest vote-getters. It would have worked in 2000, with Gore and Bush splitting the Florida vote. No need to argue over hanging chads. This time, all the close states could have been divided half. All the conspiracy theories and corruption accusations would be moot.
A positive effect of this method would be to keep the electoral college to appease those who are addicted to it, but create a climate where people like me get to influence the presidential race. As it is, my minority vote has not counted in Tennessee in years.
It looks like we will be having our first one-term president since Ross Perot gave the nod to Bill Clinton. This is the first elected incumbent to lose since Herbert Hoover, unless I missed something.
In 1992, George H.W. Bush lost to Bill Clinton. 😐
I guess so. I never kept up with Perot. 🤔
Correct. See last paragraph. Perot split the republican vote.
RT: Can you explain this more precisely? I’m not following it.
I sent this to several people, including my brother and a Trump lover. How can they continue to dislike Biden when he is already working to get help to Americans? Trump’s ‘hoax’ is over.

Biden: “On Monday, I will name a group of leading scientists and experts as transition advisors to help take the Biden-Harris COVID plan and convert it into an action blueprint that will start on January 20, 2021. That plan will be built on bedrock science. It will be constructed out of compassion, empathy and concern. I will spare no effort—none—or any commitment to turn around this pandemic…”

What Kind Of First Lady Will Jill Biden Be? Joe Biden’s Wife Says She’s Not Quitting Her Teacher Job
Future first lady Dr. Jill Biden has been a teacher for 35 years and plans to continue her day job when President-elect Joe Biden assumes the Oval Office on Jan. 20.
Jill Biden has two master’s degrees in education, as well as a doctorate. She has also taught public school for over two decades.
At the Democratic National Convention in August, she spoke from one of her former high school classrooms in Wilmington, Delaware. She spoke on COVID-19 and how it affected schools around the country and that she empathized with those who are having to get comfortable with virtual learning and school during a pandemic.
When Joe Biden was vice president from 2009 to 2017, she continued to teach at Northern Virginia Community College.
And when she takes on the new role of first lady, she will continue teaching at the school….“I would love to. If we get to the White House, I’m going to continue to teach,” she told CBS Sunday in August when asked if she was going to continue her teaching career. “I want people to value teachers and know their contributions and to lift up the profession.”…

Okay, I have to make a sort of nasty comment.
Jill Biden, a highly educated woman, is certainly miles ahead of the plastic barbie trophy wife who can be seen posing nude online. BeBest and don’t bully?
Why doesn’t this nudity bother Trump lovers?
I do not think nudity should bother anybody.
Generally, I agree. However, I DO NOT think that nudity by our First Lady is acceptable. I would expect something higher up than that.
Remember the Republicans were having fits when Michelle Obama wore dresses that showed her shoulders.
Conservatives Criticize Michelle Obama For Bare Arms, Stay Silent On Melania Trump’s Nude Poses
Posted on September 21, 2016
…So not only is it inappropriate for Michelle to wear sleeveless dresses to any functions or shorts when she’s on vacation in very hot locales, but she is criticized for doing push-ups and encouraging Americans to live a healthy lifestyle. Although Mrs. Obama is one of the smartest and most educated First Ladies of all time, she is constantly put down for her appearance by allegedly religious and conservative voters. Additionally, Jackie Kennedy herself, who was referenced by Lussier, also wore sleeveless dresses.
Melania Trump on the other hand, whose husband is the current front-runner for the Republican party, has received no criticism for not being a suitable future First Lady based on her appearance or history of racy photoshoots. This seems to indicate that the conservative voters were only criticizing Mrs. Obama not because it isn’t “First Lady-like” or because it goes against their conservative, religious views, but simply because she is a Democrat and maybe even because she’s African American and that in itself is not suitable…
Of course Melania can do whatever she pleases, as it is the 21st century and women should feel free to use their bodies as they see fit, but when it comes to the media silence on these photos and whether she would make an appropriate First Lady compared to Mrs. Obama’s exposed-arms scandal, it raises questions about the true intent of this criticism…

Nah, we do not need to be prudish anymore. If Joe wants to run down to the Potomac in his speedo for a morning swim, we should encourage him instead of giving him a lecture on what we think is appropriate.
Máté Wierdl: I’d much rather watch Biden in a Speedo swimsuit than Trump.
Actually, maybe that’s what Trump should do. It would turn off a whole lot of people. It might even be better than Michelle Obama’s ideas which tried to get Americans to eat healthy.
One look at Trump in a Speedo would hurt McDonalds, Diet Coke, Oreo cookies, KFC and chocolate cake makers. Those companies can join together and sue Trump for causing their corporate bottom lines to tank.
I’d like to see Trumpkin personally congratulate Joe on his win, then both jog down to the river for a friendly swimming and splashing. I’d find this most appropriate.
Máté Wierdl: “I’d like to see Trumpkin personally congratulate Joe on his win,…”
I’d settle for that. I wonder how long Trump will continue to declare himself the winner.
And I wonder how long it will take for the Trump lovers to accept his defeat. [It might never happen.]
Wow. That’s really stupid .
Are you responding on behalf of Trump’s favorites, the uneducated?
I’m a trumper. Sorry guys
We can’t be at a place in this country where political reporters, White House correspondents, need bodyguards to cover political campaign events.
Jim Acosta, CNN’s chief White House correspondent, who said he and other reporters got death threats during their time covering the Trump administration.
Then the next 4+ years will be hopelessly painful for you.
