Our blog poet reflects to wistfully on the fate of the $2 trillion appropriated by Congress as coronavirus relief for the American people:
Where have all the trillion$ gone
Long time pa$$ing
Where have all the trillion$ gone
Long time ago
Where have all the trillion$ gone
Gone to Wall Street every one
When will we ever learn?
When will we ever learn?

Isn’t it interesting how Wall Street is no reflection at all of Main Street. Commerce shut down, many unable to pay the rent or the mortgage, homeless tent cities everywhere, manufacturing jobs outsourced long ago, Grubhub blackmailing restaurants, Great Depression level unemployment… but the investor class is doing just fine, thank you very much. Charter chain lobbying groups even clamoring for bailout cash.

I think Wall Street is a reflection of Main Street, just an inverse reflection. As increasing austerity has been imposed on the rest of us more and more, the stock market has shot further and faster up.
And, BTW, on a related note, Amazon has cut the commissions their affiliates get. On top of firing workers for complaining about dangerous working conditions.

yes, it is important to remember that Wall Street pays dividends; companies paying dividends will be bailed out first

When will we ever learn that INDOCTRINATION
(know-that “facts” codified by the PTB) functions as an instrument to negate or
empty the intrinsic (core) spirit of it’s power
(self reflection-self approval-self esteem)
and fills the vacuum with new content
(OTHERINGby means of concocted ranks-titles-powers determined by
concocted methods of assessment)
Accepting and practicing the OTHERING tightens our chains.
Flying the “it’s not us” flag, doesn’t negate the divisional othering.

Another spot on, insightful, hilarious piece by SomeDAM, Poet Laureate of the Resistance! Bowing low, here.
STEVE MUNCHKIN (in Lederhosen):
I represent the Oligarch Guild,
The Oligarch Guild, the Oligarch Guild,
And in the name of the Oligarch Guild,
I wish to welcome you to Grifterland.
All citizens are marks in Grifterland.

• The $2 trillion rescue package passed by Congress last month covers small businesses, including some news companies, but advocates argue it’s not enough to cover the long-lasting damages coronavirus will have on local news.
• Newsrooms are officially considered “essential services” by the federal government and many state governments, but some argue they won’t be able to survive without additional financial support.
• Dozens of local and national newsrooms have begun instituting pay cuts, layoffs or have ceased publication altogether in response to the hit the advertising market has taken since the pandemic surged.
