Susan Glasser explained in the New Yorker why the testimony of Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch was so powerful:
For a few hours on Friday, an unassuming career diplomat named Marie (Masha) Yovanovitch did something that I thought had become impossible in Donald Trump’s Washington: she managed to hold on to her amazement and outrage at the President’s amazing and outrageous actions. In this hyper-partisan, hyper-political time, she was neither. Nearly three years into this Presidency, that is no given. A state of weary cynicism has taken hold regarding Trump, among his supporters and also his critics. He is what he is. What can we do about it? Even impeachment has quickly come to be seen through this lens. Members of Congress are all too likely to vote the party line. Does any of it matter?
In hours of spellbinding testimony, on the second day of the House’s public impeachment hearings, Yovanovitch offered a decisive rebuttal to that way of thinking. She said that she had been surprised and appalled when Trump succumbed to a foreign disinformation campaign and fired her as the U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine based on false allegations trafficked by Rudy Giuliani, his private lawyer. She had taken on corrupt interests inside Ukraine, and those parties had, in turn, targeted her—and, unbelievably, it had worked. The President, the most powerful man in the world, had gone along with it. “It was terrible,” she said. Yovanovitch said that she was shocked when Secretary of State Mike Pompeo failed to issue a statement in her defense, although she had spent thirty-three years in the Foreign Service. She said that she was intimidated and incredulous when the President attacked her in a phone call with a foreign leader. She said that she felt threatened. These are simple truths, which is why they were so powerful. So was the question she posed to the members of the House Intelligence Committee arrayed on the dais in front of her: “How could our system fail like this?” That, of course, is a question for which Americans as yet have no real answer.
As with most truly memorable public moments, there was something raw and unexpected about Yovanovitch’s appearance on Friday; it cut through the rote posturing and partisanship to get at an essential fact. Yovanovitch reminded us that all of this is, in fact, amazing and shocking and outrageous. It is not normal. Trump is not on the brink of impeachment because of some arcane dispute over differing philosophies about anti-corruption policies in Ukraine. Yovanovitch, who spent her career fighting corruption in the former Soviet Union, was dumped because the President had allied himself with Ukrainians who wanted to stop America’s anti-corruption efforts. He personally ordered her fired. He spoke threateningly of her during a phone call with Ukraine’s new President and did it again, on Twitter, while she was testifying on Capitol Hill. No previous President—of either party—has ever acted in this way.
That is why Yovanovitch’s appearance was ultimately about what the hell the country is supposed to do with a President who is so manifestly unpresidential. Friday offered a chance to reflect on Trump’s conduct, to consider the extent of his boorishness, his poor judgment, his ignorance, his recklessness, and his callous disregard for anything other than his own personal interests. There will be many days and weeks to come in which to hash out what, if anything, in all this saga involving Ukraine, should be considered impeachable by Congress. But that is not the real import of Friday’s hearing, which was a rare opportunity for America to stop and take stock of Trump and what he has wrought. This was a day to contemplate the excesses of Donald John Trump…
For hours, she did not waver or change her demeanor. She was sincere and corny and old-fashioned in her insistence on the values that politicians often talk about but, in the Trump era, have more or less jettisoned. There was a moment when Yovanovitch reminded the committee about the oath that members of the Foreign Service swear to the Constitution. “We take our oath seriously—the same oath that each one of you takes,” she told the panel, looking directly at the dais where Nunes had just opened the session by speaking once again about a bizarre alleged plot by Democrats to obtain “nude pictures of Trump.” Earnestness, as Yovanovitch showed, is not entirely dead in American public life.
Several times, Yovanovitch was asked why it mattered that Trump had fired her, what his prerogative was, and why we should care about it. She reached back to the Truman era and to Arthur Vandenberg, the late Republican senator from Michigan, a prewar isolationist who became a pillar of the postwar internationalism that had been the hallmark of American foreign policy right up until Trump took office. “Partisan politics stops at the water’s edge,” Vandenberg was famous for saying, even if the two parties were never as bipartisan about foreign policy as his statement implied. At least the aspiration was there, even if the execution faltered. Yovanovitch still seemed to want to believe it. She insisted upon the idea that there remains an American national interest, as opposed to a Republican interest, a Democratic interest, or a Presidential interest. She was an Ambassador from our past, and maybe from our future. But not, sadly, from our present.

“This is not normal.”
My brother also believes that the head of the UN is working with Satan to start a one world order so that Satan can rule the world. I think he is being fed this garbage from some site on the internet.

I wonder if you could just respond to your brother this way:
“There were a lot of military veterans who believed if they just paid Donald Trump thousands of dollars and enrolled in Trump University, they’d learn how to get rich. If you still believe that Trump was telling the truth to those veterans who he conned, then I understand why you still believe everything Trump says now.”
In other words, all of his words to you should simply be answered as: “Trump University.”
I’m sure he would insist that Trump U. was actually a really great education, but I suspect deep down he would know how foolish he sounds even if he won’t admit it.

Your brother’s ideas seem to be related to the conspiracies hatched from the The John Birch Society and the Agenda 21 conspiracy theories that are popular all across the south. At the hands of groups like the John Birch Society, the UN’s Agenda 21 project (1992) has been transformed in much of the American public mind into a secret plot to impose a totalitarian world government, a nefarious effort to crush freedom in the name of environmentalism.
https://www.splcenter.org/20140331/agenda-21-un-sustainability-and-right-wing-conspiracy-
Woven through the Bircher theories all across the south is Dominion theology (also known as dominionism.) According to Wikipedia dominionism is a group of Christian political ideologies that seek to institute a nation governed by Christians based on their understandings of biblical law.
Michelle Goldberg wrote about domionismin her 2006 book Kingdom Coming. The Republican party is replete within domionist adherents in high level positions in & out government.

I wish I could tell you there is a way to convince your brother otherwise, but you might loose your relationship before ever changing his mind. It is a parallel universe, impervious to facts. These ideologies are embedded in mega churches and small Appalachian churches, in Evangelical schools, Liberty University, and deeply entrenched in the politics of the deep south.

Then it was everyone.] Pope Francis is in league with the devil. Jesus’s second coming, the rapture, will take people like him to heaven but I will be eternally burning in hell because I don’t read the bible and believe in Jesus. Liberals kill people. He says there should be no gun control because people will have to be ready to fight the US military since they are saving up canned goods and any day will start killing Americans. Any news that comes from WaPo, CNN, NYT, ABC or any new media but Fox is spreading ‘fake new’ and can’t be believed. Trump is the best president this country has ever had.
If my brother is like this, how many others believe in like manner? He lives in a different state so we don’t meet in person very often. He has never been to my place in NW Indiana.

…And a day to witness a horrific example of his compulsive rage and ignorance on full display in the midst of her testimony.
I listened to her testimony with admiration and gut-wrenching anger that she had been stiffed by Trump and his cronies. Shiff also displayed incredible control of the hearings in spite of Trump’s intimidating Tweet thrown into the middle of her testimony. Schiff read that Tweet aloud and posted the Tweet for all to see. It was a stupid attempt at discrediting her and a good case of witness intimidation.
Republicans were intent on shaming the PROCESS.
Yovanovitch received a prolonged standing ovation from most people in the room.

Fox News? More Like Trump’s Impeachment Shield
Nixon lacked the cable network’s advantage, but are its viewers misled?
By Nicholas Kristof
Nov. 16, 2019
Fox was the most popular television network for watching the first day of impeachment hearings this week, with 2.9 million viewers(57 percent more than CNN had), and Fox viewers encountered a very different hearing than viewers of other channels.
With Rep. Adam Schiff on the screen, Fox News’s graphic declaredin all caps: “TRUMP HAS REPEATEDLY IMPLIED THAT SCHIFF HAS COMMITTED TREASON.” At a different moment, the screen warned: “9/26: SCHIFF PUBLICLY EXAGGERATED SUBSTANCE OF TRUMP-ZELENSKY CALL.”.
Fox downplayed the news and undermined the witnesses. While Ambassador William Taylor was shown testifying, the Fox News screen graphic declared: “OCT 23: PRESIDENT TRUMP DISMISSED TAYLOR AS A “NEVER TRUMPER.” It also suggested his comments were, “TRIPLE HEARSAY.”
Researchers have found that Fox News isn’t very effective at informing Americans. A 2012 study by Fairleigh Dickinson University reported that watching Fox News had “a negative impact on people’s current events knowledge.”…
I wonder if Fox viewers are again being misled when they watch Hannity celebrate the opening of the impeachment hearings as a victory for Trump and as “a lousy day for the corrupt, do-nothing-for-three-years radical extreme socialist Democrats.” That is, shall we say, a quixotic interpretation.
In the meantime, Fox News is aggressively defending Trump, joining in smears of public servants and playing a role in history that embarrasses many of us in journalism.

“MSNBC was second with 2.69 million, ABC had 2.01 million, CBS had 1.97 million, CNN had 1.84 million and NBC had 1.68 million, Nielsen said”
Now my stomach feels better knowing that way more Americans watched MSNBC and CNN together than watched fox 1.5 million more. And the not left enough for me MSNBC, was within the margin of error (well 200k ).
And it was almost 3 to 1 when you add ABC NBC and CBS. .
So there is hope for the Nation; if the Times stops telling us what the President thinks and just reports what the President does. And if the media in general stops the bs narrative of trying to be fair and balanced. I don’t need another election of talking heads shouting at each other to fill the news cycle.
We landed on the moon in 69, Sandy Hook was not staged with actors, airplanes took down the towers . And the Russians attacked our elections. I don’t hours of story that asserts otherwise so that CNN can sell ad time while they muddy the water. .

I posted this article from the New Yorker while I was sitting in the Ambassador Theater on W. 49 Street in New York City, waiting for the curtain to go up. I was there with my grandson and partner to see a matinee of the Broadway show “Chicago.” I have seen the movie two or three times and love the music and dancing. I had never seen the show. It was wonderful. If you know the show, the actress who plays Roxy Hart sings a song about “the name on everyone’s lips will be Roxy!” after she becomes a “celebrity.” She went to the front of the stage at one point and pointed to my grandson and said, “Hey, you handsome boy in glasses, what’s your name?” He told her. She said, “How old are you?” “Thirteen,” he said. She laughed and said “well, you are old enough to be here” and went on with her song. At the end of the show, she threw a rose into his lap. This was a day he won’t forget! I was kvelling.

I wish the media would make the point that it is one thing for the President to choose his own Ambassador and it is quite another thing for a President to intentionally participate in a smear campaign to personally discredit and vilify an Ambassador that he wants to replace. It is the President’s unprecedented and entirely dishonest smear campaign to replace her that made this something that needed to be investigated. And the investigation made it clear that Trump wanted her out of the way so that Giuliani and corrupt individuals working to re-elect the President could extort or bribe Ukraine to help Trump’s campaign.
And the other point that gets lost is that Trump had absolutely no interest in any real investigation. What he was demanding from Ukraine when he ordered that the aid be withheld is a PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT that Joe Biden was so corrupt that Ukraine had to investigate him.
To repeat, Trump did not care about just an investigation. He was demanding an immediate public announcement on American television that Joe Biden was so corrupt that Ukraine had to investigate him.
Charges against anyone opposing the right wing agenda never need any evidence to be reported by the so-called liberal media — especially the NY Times — as if they were incontrovertible evidence of corruption. It worked against HRC, so why not against Biden?
There was just a buried article about Andrew McCabe. Remember that corrupt FBI official who the FBI Inspector General completely smeared and attacked? He has yet to be charged with any wrongdoing after months and months of the smears and it is clear that the FBI Inspector General would be terrified to have his “evidence” presented in a court where it could be challenged.
This is notable because that very same FBI Inspector General plans to release a report saying that the entire Mueller investigation was corrupt and the corrupt Obama FBI worked entirely on behalf of HRC.
This is the same Inspector General who has quashed any investigation into why the NYC FBI was illegally leaking to Trump campaign surrogate Rudy Giuliani to smear HRC. It is the same Inspector General who quashed any investigation into why – when the FBI learned that the DNC server was being hacked, their agents’ entire investigation was to leave a message on the computer help desk voicemail of an IT sub-contractor and not make the short trip to DNC headquarters to notify anyone else at the DNC except a random help desk voicemail.
When the justice system is used to punish enemies and cover up for friends, we have become exactly like Putin’s Russia. It is a frightening time and I only hope that the media doesn’t report on William Barr’s “special” investigation with the embarrassing and dangerous gullibility and unwillingness to question that they give to all right wing charges.

I want to recommend the preternaturally brilliant (I am always awestruck by the words of wisdom coming from one who is still so young) Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and last night’s interview on MSNBC with Chris Hayes. Hayes threw out the right wing propaganda talking point about how there already so much corruption and cynicism out there anyway, and AOC addressed it exactly right:
“There is a lot of corruption in our society; big money, and big pharma and big oil and and big gas have taken over our entire political system and there are a lot of systemic threats.
But that doesn’t mean that because some things are broken you throw out our entire country and set it on fire.”
We have seen too many attempts by people who claim to support Bernie using right wing talking points to normalize what Trump is doing – it was very similar to what we saw in the 2016 election and will no doubt see in 2020.
And I repeat AOC’s wise words: “that doesn’t mean that because some things are broken you throw out our entire country and set it on fire.”
It is clear that enemies of democracy do hope to set the US on fire, with the idea being to throw out democracy itself. AOC understand this. Her interview was a brilliant retort to those few remaining purveyors of right wing propaganda on the left who seem to want to set the entire country on fire by normalizing Trump.
The entire interview is well worth watching. I hope I am around to vote for AOC for President.

I’m sure Marianne Williamson won’t win but I do like some of her ideas. I wish we had a Department of Peace and cared about those who are suffering in poverty. “Unnecessary poverty should become someday be a mere memory for the human race. And America should be leading the way.”
…….
These words of Martin Luther King ring as relevant today as when they were written in 1963.
“… I am cognizant of the interrelatedness of all communities and states. I cannot sit idly by in Atlanta and not be concerned about what happens in Birmingham. Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny.”
The idea that we are separate, isolated beings with no deeper connection to one another is the single greatest threat to our happiness and security. Ultimately, none of us will experience the future we all long for if we’re not willing to at least try to love others as we love ourselves.
“Rugged individualism” is a good thing, and an aspect of the American character that has led to greatness. But over the last few decades our rugged individualism has transitioned into rugged narcissism, leading us to live lives too often and in too many ways separate from the people who live around us.
My goal as president will be to pave the way to the greatest chapter of our history that we have ever known. But we cannot be great if we are not good. And there is no goodness that does not involve goodness to one another.
Just as President Johnson declared a War on Poverty in the 1960’s, it is time for America to rededicate itself to the alleviation of suffering among those of us who are poor. With 41 million people living in poverty and 93 million in near poverty, the United States cannot morally afford to allow huge swaths of unnecessary poverty to remain in our midst while we continue to spend incredible amounts of money on outrageous gifts to corporate America that appear under the guise of economic stimulus.
In the words of President Franklin Roosevelt, “The test of our progress is not whether we add more to the abundance of those who have much; it is whether we provide enough for those who have little.”
Americans have allowed our deep humanitarian streak to wither away over the last few decades, and it is time to reclaim it. After forty years of obeisance to trickle-down economics, we now see what utter nonsense it is to think that if we add enough to the storehouses of the rich that that will somehow benefit the poor.
We cannot have the future we all want, unless all of us have the opportunity to thrive. My Anti-Poverty Plan will form the outline by which my administration tackles the challenge of lifting up those who are currently caught within the trauma of poverty in America. Unnecessary poverty should become someday be a mere memory for the human race. And America should be leading the way.
Let us pave the way to a different kind of world.
Marianne Williamson

When I read Susan’s word — the very first words in her introductory paragraph — I was stunned. In simple, straightforward prose she described what I (and everyone I know) was feeling… “something that I had thought had become impossible” to show the behavior in front of our eyes for exactly what it is. I called my granddaughter and Read it to her.
Collins put into words what just happened! What had unfolded before our eyes — in this moment, in this ” hyper-partisan, hyper-political time” a world that had been inundated by a tsunami of talking heads and ‘leaders’ disseminating disinformation.. and balloon came Masha!
IN the context of the cynicism and disgust we the people are feeling, Collins describes the incredible character that Masha displayed, as “she calmly described what had happened to her— while quietly holding on to her “amazement and outrage.”Masha sat there and told what had happened to her… that assault by a powerful person, that undid everything she had worked tirelessly for all her life.
Let me explain something, before I address that amazing woman, in this moment that should change everything.!
You see, for some time now, I have been writing, “Words Matter,” the opening essay for for my blogsite: Speaking As A Teacher (dot-org and do -net) which I have yet to put up. It is so ironic, that as a teacher of writing, I have so much difficulty in finding the RIGHT words to introduce the theme of my site! I spent a ca in THE WORDS THEY UTTER defines who they are!
For decades I showed youngsters that it is OUR CONVERSATIONS and the way we communicate OUR INTENTIONS that make all the difference!
Moreover, when truth is replaced by outright propaganda and lies, and the people who lead a nation produce carnivals, and engage in outright skullduggery, no society will survive. America will not be great EVER AGAIN, if the rule of law IS replaced by mendacity. If I need to speak as a teacher… THAT is what I want to address — how MENDACITY HAS NO PLACE in a good society… and when lies become the WAY IT Is and we are TOLD to “GET OVER IT” then we are all ’#MeToo —powerless in the face of evil.
I read the Collins piece several times, and then read it again in Diane’s blog, and found myself crying.! WHY, wondered , after all today, (in my News feed as a journalist at OEN) I read many descriptions of her ‘testimony” but Susan Collins captured with HER WORDS– THAT SPELLBINDING MOMENT when a simple human being, made it clear that she was appalled, outraged, and frightened by what had happened to her.
That Nunez and Jordan, the GOP sycophants and those charlatans at Fox News choose to spit on her,– then they DEFINE WHO THEY ARE, TOO!
I KNOW what Masha described! Because I am NOT ONLY a #Metoo-girl, I also found myself (at the height of my professional 4 decade career—as a celebrated and revered educator) suddenly reviled and threatened by lies and disinformation ,BY THE VERY PEOPLE whom I had served with dedication and talent.
As I read the Collins piece, reviewing what I had seen unfold before my very eyes ONLY yesterday morning … I saw myself being denigrated and dismissed by power! Powerless to fight when the grounds upon which I stood were being undermined by forces I could not stop.
Powerlessness is of course, the trauma of every MeToo girl out there.
I will not discuss or describe what one must do to get over, such a moment when the power to defend yourself evaporates. BUT I can tell you that an assault on the emotional self of a human being, (child, man or woman) is EVERY BIT AS DESTRUCTIVE as one on the physical being.
Yes, a VERBAL ASSAULT is devastating, too, especially when it is a venal lie from start to finish and it comes from a source one cannot defend against…except by telling the truth!!!!
I was struck by lightening, when the superintendent of my district said I had committed corporal punishment– and for 6 months I was sent from my practice to a rubber room, as lies were circulated about me! ( You bet’ya—’I was going to “experience some ‘things!”)
I get it Masha! You described what happened to you, just as I described what happened to me — to my doctor. (Of course I was sickened!) And when I sued the NYC DOE, and the lies evaporated, and I was sent back to my school, BUT not to my classroom, I was thunderstruck AGAIN when I was informed that NOW, I had threatened to kill the principal.
Powerful people have no restraint.
But — my friends and colleagues here —I do not want to talk about ME!
It is what Masha did – what she accomplished thought her words, as she described the IMPACT OF THE BEHAVIOR — not of a petty, corrupt school administrator– but of the PRESIDENT OF THE United States.
I want to bring your attention to something that she said, that I cannot forget.
It was this that brought tears to my eyes (and even as I write this, they fall) — when asked WHY she thought Trump did it ) which would require her to judge and characterize his behavior) she refused!
“ I cannot address why he did it” she said, and went on to describe the IMPACT OF HIS ASSAULT ON HER..because it is THE BEHAVIOR THAT MATTERS.
You all know that I am a playwright, and that we who put characters on a stage, know that BEHAVIOR IS ALL… the only thing that tells the story. The disgraceful, aberrant behavior of the president and all of the toadies and lackies who kiss his orange butt has flooded our national landscapes — until we begin to dismiss the stink; the darkness of the onslaught fades as we forget what normal looks like. …
Oh, it’s just politics.
Everyone does it— ‘winners’ denigrate those who disagree, and to win office we must destroy our competition … GET OVER IT!
This is Mobster Politics. I need a favor though’ before I help you”.
Diane knew when she read Susan’ Collins wonderful piece that it was indeed ‘spellbinding testimony.’
It is that moment that comes every now and then, when TRUTH BURSTS on the scene in the UNEXPECTED ENTRACNE onto the public stage of a truth-sayer who CANNOT BE IGNORE!” ( forgive capitals.. cannot boldface at this blog!!!)
I would love to characterize Donald Trump.
After all— I am an English teacher— and a writer — and I certainly have the vocabulary of adjectives and nouns that will paint his true colors. But, I do not want to speculate as to why he is destroying the very core of America! (…well maybe because daddy didn’t like him… or because his ‘hands’ are so small…oops sorry)
I only know what he did to ME — to US, and to THIS NATION — and it was NOT to make us great again — it was to demolish the ideals we once cherished — while eradicating the very rules of behavior. of civility, and the very Rule of Law that made us the envy of the world. Tweeting lies even as she testifies.
Aggggh!
I haven’t read Diane’s next blog (which I saw in my mail) but I saw the Headline, and I want to tell you that Masha is my heroine, too. I want a #GoMasha T-shirt!

“That is why Yovanovitch’s appearance was ultimately about what the hell the country is supposed to do with a President who is so manifestly unpresidential.”
When Bill Clinton was impeached for lying to Congress about his personal impurity, most of the opposition was disgusted with him because he had acted like a boor instead of a president. I argued that he had indeed transgressed his office by lying, but that the introduction of personal life in to the political realm was wrong. If all our sins were held against us, who could stand? I now think I was wrong about Clinton.
We should have thrown him out for lying. We had a perfectly functional backup in Gore. If he messed up we could have tried someone else. We need to be ready to cast our president to the pages of history. If Trump teaches us anything, it is that making the person the point of the presidency is poison to the body politic. Montesquieu’s dictum that power checks power should be enough to consider impeachment for some of the offenses that do not rise to the point of the criminal. We should amend the constitution to make it clear that presidents can be thrown out for cussing the referee. The imperial presidency will land us in the Roman Empire. Trump underwent his most recent medical exam in February. The president’s height was listed at 6 feet, 3 inches, and his weight was 243 pounds, up from 239 pounds in January 2018.
Trump’s body mass index, a measure of body weight based on height, was listed 30.4, putting him in the category of obese. The president’s total cholesterol was 196 mg/dL, down from 223 the prior year. But his daily dosage of the drug rosuvastatin was increased to 40 milligrams daily.
Navy Cdr. Sean Conley, physician to the president, said at the time that there were “no findings of significance or changes to report on his physical exam, including the eyes, ears, nose, mouth, teeth/gums, heart, lungs, skin, gastrointestinal, and neurologic systems.”
The health report released in February did not indicate that Trump took a cognitive exam during his most recent checkup.

Trump picked a loyal stooge. Barr should be impeached since he is not representing the people of the US, but is Trump’s personal lawyer. How can Barr argue that all of the presidents phone calls should be kept secret when Trump is doing things that are illegal? What kind of ‘mandate’ is this when Trump did not win the popular vote? This is pure lunacy.

Attorney General Barr accuses Democrats of ‘war’ on Trump in speech decried as partisan
November 16, 2019 at 9:17 p.m. CST
Attorney General William P. Barr accused Democrats on Friday of using their oversight powers to sabotage the executive branch, criticizing the “resistance” to President Trump and what he called a broader erosion in the commander in chief’s rightful authority.
The Trump appointee described a “war” against a “duly elected government” at a conference of the Federalist Society, a conservative legal group that has played a key role in the administration’s efforts to seat record numbers of right-leaning federal judges.
“The fact of the matter is that, in waging a scorched earth, no-holds-barred war of resistance against this administration, it is the left that is engaged in the systematic shredding of norms and the undermining of the rule of law,” Barr told his audience of lawyers at Washington’s Mayflower Hotel…
Barr emphasized the president’s purview over policy and diplomacy and argued for the executive branch’s ability to keep its conversations secret from what he called a meddling Congress. For the attorney general, the so-called resistance to the president implies a “dangerous” notion of insurgency against a military occupation.
He pointed to Trump’s election as a mandate for his actions…

If it matters, Barr’s reputation is ruined.

Also happening in D.C., Roger Stone arrived at his legal hearing prominently sporting a red Bible.

Linda: Stone is proving to all the ‘Christians’ that he believes in the bible and therefore, did nothing illegal.
What a pile of hog wash. It is to appease Trump’s loyal ‘Christians’.

McGovern’s bio is interesting- CIA for 27 years, now with the publishing arm of the Ecumenical Church of the Savior in “inner Washington D.C.”

Can you provide some context for religion’s role in D.C. political decisions related to public education’s privatization? Some of us erroneously thought that religion was relatively insignificant before Trump arrived with DeVos and, it was thought that evangelical interests, not Catholic, steered the Trump agenda.

If people are afraid of socialism, then we’d best privatize the US military. Get government off the backs of soldiers and marines! Big government can’t do anything right, and the military is proof of that!
