Lloyd Lofthouse is a writer, a former member of the military, and a faithful reader and contributor to the blog. When I read this comment, I almost fell off my chair laughing.
I’m all for these [red] states leaving the union and forming their own country. This new country will call itself Trumplandia. Then Trump will resign as president (to escape all the investigations and legal threats) of the United States and move to the new capital of Trumplanda (I wonder if that capital will be in Florida or North Carolina) and become president-for-life of that new country. He will announce himself as the greatest emperor of everything throughout all of history.
I expect that the U.S. will experience the same thing that happened when partition took place in India and Pakistan was born. Most of the Forever Trumpers will move to Trumplandia and most of the Never Trumpers will move out of Trumplandia. In the end, the population of Trumplanda will be almost all white with few colleges educated and number about 60-million leaving 260-million in what’s left of the real U.S.
After the partition ends, the real United States will build an incredible wall along its border with Trumplandia before Trump can build his wall. Trump will be so angry that he didn’t build the wall first and get to name it Trump’s Great Wall and get a fee paid for by his taxpayers for allowing his name to be used, he will declare war on what’s left of the United States

I love Lloyd’s comments, too. This one is priceless.
Thanks, Lloyd … trumpandlia … I had use lower case.

What is facinating is that most of the taxes are raised in blue states. The majority of red states are towards the poor half of 50 states. If red and blue were separate countries the red states would be like Mississippi. The blue states would be like Massachusetts. Red states need blue states a lot more than the reverse.

👇👇👇👇👇👇👇
Richard Nixon’s resignation speech was an address made on August 8, 1974, by President of the United States Richard Nixon to the American public. It was delivered in the White House Oval Office. The purpose of the speech was for Nixon, who had been intimately involved in the events surrounding the Watergate scandal that occurred during his controversial re-election campaign in 1972, to announce to the nation that he was resigning from office.[1] Watergate had cost Nixon much of his political support, and at the time of his resignation, he faced almost certain impeachment and removal from office.
Nilsson vs Trump ? Open to comment.
Nixon was the ninth incumbent president not to complete the four-year term to which they had been elected since the presidency was established in 1789. He was however, the first to do so for a reason other than dying in office.[2] His presidential resignation remains the only one in U.S. history.

Thank you. I should have included:
Trumplandia would use North Korea as its nation-building model and once that new country was one huge labor camp, Trump would record a speech he borrowed from “The Bridge on the River Kwai,” and have it played repeatedly.
If you watch the video, please imagine Trump giving the speech: “Be happy in your work” while I play golf and make money off your free labor.

This column isn’t funny. We face a genuine threat of dictatorship and fascism. We have concentration camps housing thousands of migrants, a government essentially abducting children and separating them from their parents, unending wars, and the constantly escalating impoverishing of workers.
Under these conditions, Trump is elevating the military as the supreme arbiter of American politics to buttress his own personalist rule. By asserting the personal power of the executive branch over the military, Trump is following the historic path to authoritarian rule and the abolition of constitutional rights.
The legislative branch, has already ceded to Trump the power to declare a “national emergency” and appropriate billions to fund his border crackdown. Democratic rights are being shredded with Trump pledging to round up some 10,000 immigrants.
A reminder: partition cost as many as two million lives, over 10 million were displaced and the border of India and Pakistan remains a flashpoint for nuclear war.
None of this is the fault of “white” people, those for whom education was unattainable or the South.

Sorry, Nancy – I agree it’s not funny but completely disagree there isn’t value in funniness. I think there’s little more important than finding a way – all ways – to get Truth across. I doubt you can ever convey something as important as this redundantly, via humor, via earnestness, via data, via explanation, etc…. all ways. Humor is an absolutely vital component, pretty much always.

Nancy, if you are talking about partition in India and Pakistan, it was the British Empire ruled by “white” people that were responsible for the mess in that part of the world, probably other areas, too.

We know there are educated, rational people in every red state that think blue. We know these blue voters are made helpless by extreme gerrymandering in these red states, and in areas where blue voters are the majority in red states, voting is not made easy.
That why partition is the only option. Blue voters in red states swap similarly sized homes with red voters in blue states. The cost of the homes does not count. Only square footage counts.
For instance, 4,483,810 Californians voted for Trump vs. 8,753,788 that voted for Hillary Clinton.
We start swapping red voters with blue in Montana:
177,709 voters in Montana voted for Hillary Clinton vs. 279,240 that voted for Trump.
Every voter and their families that voted for Hillary swap their homes with red voters in California. After the swap, there are still 4,306,101 Trump voters in California to move out of that state so blue voters from Montana can move in.
Next Alabama: Hillary Clinton had 718,084 votes vs Trump’s 1,306,925. Once that swap is completed, we still have 3,588,017 Trumpers left to evict from California and sent them to Trump-Loony-Landia.
Once California runs out of Trump supporters, we move to other states like Washinton, Oregon, Hawaii, New York, et al, and since Clinton had almost 3-million more votes than Trump, eventually, we will run out of swaps and some of those hate-filled, MAGA hat-wearing Always Trump lovers will be stuck in a blue state like California, but no worry. We will leave the Always Trump lovers that live in remote areas with sparse populations in all of the blue states so any that remain in a blue state live in isolation where they can watch Fake Fox News 24/7 and blue voters won’t hear them shouting and cussing out anyone that isn’t a Trump lover. Eventually, all that anger and hate will cause them to have a stroke and leave this mortal coil sooner.
In fact, we would have to make sure that any Trump supporters left living in blue states are living in counties like California Modoc County where Trump got 2,413 votes vs Clintons 790. Modoc County, California has a population of 9,017 living on 4,203 square miles of land. Population density is 2.3 people per square mile.

If a law was passed that rejected votes from states when their voting failed to reflect demographically proportional representation, it would be a start in the right direction.
If 30% of a state’s population was poor, then, 30% of ballots (for candidates for national office) would have to be cast by the poor. The threat would act as an inducement for states to encourage voting and stop suppressing votes.

Do you mean the names of these two fictional nations?
I think the Blue States would still be called the United States while the Red States would become Trump-Loonie-Landia since Trump must have his name on everything.
Give Trump enough time, and he will sign the original Declaration of Independence (by Donald Trump) and the U.S. Constitution (by Donald Trump after he revises it to be what he wants it to be) and TD will claim he is only living Founding Father and erase all the originals from the history books.
Then in that boat crossing the Delaware River, instead of George Washington standing in the prow, there will be Donald Trump and all the rowers will be wearing red MAGA hats.
And someone, probably the Trump family or hardcore Trump supporters, has already thought of that one and the poster costs $18.95.

So you simply divide up the US based on their main politics. That would result in two quite discontinuous countries.

Yes, the Blue States would have to have a rail line (hopefully bullet trains with all new high speed rail) and a major highway with walls on both sides and plenty of gas stations, military bases and rest stops between the West and East Coasts, sort of what the US did from West Germany through East Germany to read West Berlin after World War II.
We could call it the East-West U.S. corridor. It could be a few miles wide. Not the high speed rail and the highways but the buffer space on both sides of the travel corridor.
There would also be Canada to use to travel from the East to West parts of the United States. Canada would make a lot of revenue on that route.
But, from what I have been reading, Texas became a minority-majority state this year and if the U.S. keeps New Mexico, the day will come with Arizona becomes a minority-majority state and decides to leave Trump-Loonie-Landia and switch to the U.S.
“California, Hawaii, New Mexico and Texas are the only states where minorities, or those not identifying themselves as non-Hispanic whites, already make up the majority of the population. The latest estimates suggest the next states in line to surpass this threshold are Nevada (48.5 percent minority), Maryland (47.4 percent minority) and Georgia (45.7 percent minority).”
https://www.governing.com/topics/urban/gov-majority-minority-populations-in-states.html
We also might end up with a Blue West Coast U.S. and a Blue East Coast U.S. sandwiching Trump-Loonie-Landia in a vise. And of course, East and West would have a joint military defense agreement that included Canada, Mexico and the EU.
If Trump started a war, that alliance would pounce and put an end to Loonie-Landia once and for all.
