Bob Braun, veteran education journalist, reports that the New Jersey Assembly leaders pulled the bill to expand PARCC testing bee cause they didn’t have the votes to pass it.
The protests of parents and teachers must must have been heard. Twenty-six states signed up for PARCC in 2010, which was designed to fail most students with artificially high passing marks. All but five states have dropped PARCC.
The privatizers who paid to keep PARCC aren’t giving up. Stay tuned to see if the zombie is dead.

One Financial victory in a state which could care less about the education of minority is something. Adults have done nothing but pad there bank accounts and corporate accounts. If if If you care about democracy ,children ,education the corporations destroy your character to make room for Broad and other ignorant character individuals who have no education background. There racism is in disguise of discipline only on minority charters or white schools
We have been in decades of hatred for true educators so it is no wonder no one wAnts to enter the teaching profession.
However one little win in a charter state is worth applauding

Little things mean a lot! Especially when we fight so hard for so long, and see the strength of the assault form the power elite that control the conversation.
It means that we have a voice, and together, especially with the NPE out there now, we can change a legislature… for a while anyway…( the forces at work are nOT going to give up!)
scariest game: the forces at work are not only NOT going to give up, but they forever morph into new and seemingly benign forms…slithering in a back door or window as a front door is closed.
I campaigned vigorously with others to end PARCC in NJ for several years and encouraged parents to Opt Out. Many did. Yet, the Democratic Party in NJ and elsewhere is a bad partner, very ruled by dark money, an obstacle to defending the needs of our children.
The legislative leaders of the Democrats in NJ are DINO.
We can’t call them DINO’s or RINO’s anymore….all we can call them are greedy, lying dregs of the earth. Both parties have gone down the rabbit hole and are too far gone to be saved. Heck, we shouldn’t save them at all!
