The Inspector General in every federal department is supposed to be an independent watchdog, a maintainer of high ethical standards and legal propriety.
Betsy DeVos tried to fire the ED Inspector General, and it didn’t go well.

Now, however, it turns out that DeVos’s motive for trying to fire Sandra Bruce was far more suspicious than just an attempt to hire someone who would protect the pet projects of the Department. It looks as though DeVos tried to fire Sandra Bruce because, as part of her job as Inspector General, Bruce was investigating DeVos’s reinstatement last November of Departmental approval for a shady accrediting agency of for-profit colleges, the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS). Late in 2015, The Obama Department of Education had removed approval of ACICS as a federal accreditor of for-profit colleges.

Both DeVos and Trump are guilty of trying to manipulate the actions of the DOE. The DeVos family has always been invested in the for profit college loan racket. Presumably, she divested herself of these interests when she was appointed. The family likely shifted ownership to another family member so the family still has these holdings. Trump’s involvement may also due to similar conflicts of interest, but we’ll never know since he won’t release his taxes. This type of manipulation is not surprising considering that Americans put a “basket of deplorables” in charge of the federal government.
I am not so sure she divested herself of her holdingsin the for-profit college industry.
So many proud moments (sarcasm) for DeVos and the charter school movement…and, the slime keeps coming.
A major funder for the charter school ballot issue in Mass., in 2016, was Robert Kraft, New England Patriots owner, who is in the news now for charges of sex trafficking, which he denies.
In the case that Jupiter, Florida Police have made, the victims are Chinese women, whose passports had been taken, who were sleeping on the massage tables and cooking their food on hot plates in the Fla. storefront and working 7 days a week.
There are quotes from “spa” female employees about fears that their families back in China will suffer should they testify. If the crimes are on video- it will be a lot more difficult for johns to escape punishment.
I am getting all biblical for some reason, but my thoughts went to Jesus’ overturning of the money changers tables in the Temple. They were operating “legally” but not ethically. Seems to mirror the situation in today’s world where those with more money than morals can manipulate the system to their benefit with no legal repercussions.

Jan does a meticulous job if reveling the corruption in Devos operation of the Department of Education. Devos supports ripoffs and the destruction of authorized oversight of her actions.
DeVos must go!
