Add your name to the demands from Pittsburgh Jewish leaders to Trump
President Trump, your words, your policies, and your Party have emboldened a growing white nationalist movement. The violence against Jews in Pittsburgh is the direct culmination of your influence.
We demand you and the Republican Party:
Fully denounce white nationalism,
Stop targeting and endangering all minorities,
Cease your assault on immigrants and refugees, and
Commit yourself to compassionate, democratic policies that recognize the dignity of all of us.
—leaders of Bend the Arc: Pittsburgh
(To add your organization, synagogue, or group to this letter, please go here.)
The massacre of 11 Jews in a Pittsburgh synagogue comes at a time when the Trump administration, the Republican Party and their enablers — at all levels — have fomented hate, fear, and white nationalism in our country.
They have targeted the Muslim community, immigrants and refugees, people of color, and LGBTQ people, and in recent weeks we have seen a marked escalation in their use of antisemitic images, rhetoric and conspiracy theories.
The Trump administration, the Republican Party and their enablers have provoked violence against our communities. Our blood is on their hands.
It is time to rise up together to demand our safety. We refuse to be divided. We refuse to be isolated from each other. We will outlive their hatred.
Now, we’re asking Jews and allies across the country to add your names to the demands of Jewish leaders in Pittsburgh who are rising up to demand the White House renounce white nationalism so we can all be safe.

Nothing anyone says or writes is going to stop Trump from being Trump. He is a psychopathic malignant narcissist and the only thing in the world that counts is HIM. He has to worshiped. He has to be right. He has to win no matter how he wins.
He is genetically damaged and was raised by another genetically damage Trump to see the world differently than most people.

When the devil stands among you, it is our responsibility to step up as did the clergy in Boston did yesterday when they took Jeff Sessions on. We will not allow them to pretend that you are a human being because they are not. The devil comes in many disguises and it is up to US to call him and his swamp animals out.
GO OUT AND VOTE before there is another shooting and let us not forget the two black individuals who were shot on Saturday in front of the supermarket because the shooter could not get into the church. Let us not forget the Washington Post writer who was murdered by the Saudis. ENOUGH

“We will not allow them to pretend that you are a human being because they are not. The devil comes in many disguises and it is up to US to call him and his swamp animals out.”
First, talk of a non-existent entity, the devil, as if it were real borderlines on psychosis. Oh, but one should respect someone’s religious belief-horse manure.
Is not calling others out as “not quite human”-minions of that supposed devil-as you are doing here the precursor to allowing atrocities to be committed against those people? It certainly has in the past.

If I was Kaepernick, I’d sign the letter. I’d also reflect on why an NFL team won’t hire me. Almost 40% of the teams have owners from just one religious background.
Don’t all of us understand that it is the same group of bigots who promote violence against people of the Jewish faith and who target people of color? Two high visibility minority representatives who have spoken out and been targeted are Soros and Kaepernick.

I had filled out the information on the petition but did not submit it as at the bottom of the form it states: “By signing, you become a member of Bend the Arc: Jewish Action. We’ll protect your privacy, and keep you updated.”
It would be nice if they had given the letter signer the option to join. As it is, I don’t want to be a member so no signature. My guess is that there are probably others who feel the same way as I do.

Congressional leaders decline to accompany Trump to Pittsburgh after massacre. A victim’s family also rejects a presidential visit.
Congressional leaders from both parties — Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), House Speaker Paul D. Ryan (R-Wis.), Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer (D-N.Y.) and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D.-Calif.) — have all declined invitations to join President Trump on his visit, according to three officials familiar with the matter.
Trump offered to visit with the family of Daniel Stein, who was one of 11 people killed in the synagogue shooting at Tree of Life on Saturday. Stein’s nephew, Stephen Halle, said the family declined.
Pittsburgh’s mayor and some Jewish leaders have pleaded for Trump to stay away as critics have said that both Trump and his administration have fueled anti-Semitism through their rhetoric before and after Saturday’s massacre.

Tree of Life – Rabbi Jeffrey Myers on Monday refused to blame anyone for the shooting that took 11 worshipers at the Tree of Life Synagogue over the weekend.
CNN “New Day” host Alisyn Camerota asked the Tree of Life rabbi if he blamed anyone “beyond the gunman” for the attack.
Myers instead blamed hate.
“I don’t really foist blame upon any person,” Myers told Camerota. “Hate does not know religion, race, creed, political party. It’s not a political issue in any way, shape, or form. Hate does not know any of those things.”
“The president of the United States is always welcome,” said Myers. “I’m a citizen, he is my president. He is certainly welcome.”
I guess he won’t sign.

During the Sung Dynasty in China there was a Han general who was defeating the invading Mongols and this general was loyal, honest, humble. He was loved by the people.
Then three ministers started to spread lies about him and tell the Emperor that this general wanted to take over the dynasty.
The Emperor had the general arrested and eventually executed and even on the eve of being executed, the general repeated his oath of loyalty to his country and emperor.
After that event became part of China’s history and the future people of China discovered the truth, three statues of those ministers were cast and placed near the tomb for the general near the West Lake in Hangzhou China. To this day, the Chinese who visit this tomb to pay their respects for a patriot who was loved then and today, make sure to stop by the three kneeling statues of those ministers and spit on them. I’ve been there and those statues always have a lot of slimy spit on them.

Trump to visit Pittsburgh after shooting — but 65K people sign letter saying he’s not welcome
By Zeke Miller And Allen G. Breed The Associated Press
Nearly 65,000 people have signed an open letter to Trump from the leaders of a Pittsburgh-based Jewish group who say the president will not be welcome in the city unless he denounces white nationalism and stops “targeting” minorities.
Trump said late Monday he was looking forward to the visit.
“Well, I’m just going to pay my respects,” Trump told Fox News Channel’s Laura Ingraham. “I’m also going to the hospital to see the officers and some of the people that were so badly hurt.”…
In Squirrel Hill, Barry Werber, 76, who said he survived the massacre by hiding in a dark storage closet as the gunman rampaged through the building, said he hoped Trump wouldn’t visit, noting that the president has embraced the politically fraught label of “nationalist.” Werber said the Nazis were nationalists.
“It’s part of his program to instigate his base,” Werber said, and “bigots are coming out of the woodwork.”
Novy, 73, a retired college English professor, said she signed the open letter asking Trump not to come to Pittsburgh. “His language has encouraged hatred and fear of immigrants, which is part of the reason why these people were killed,” she said…

President Trump and First Lady visit Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh
In the immediate aftermath of Saturday’s anti-Semitic attack, President Donald J. Trump condemned the shooting as an act of “pure evil” and called on the Nation to come together as one people united in a struggle for justice, safety, tolerance, and love.
Today, the President and First Lady visited Pittsburgh to meet with family members of the victims and mourn the loss of life with the entire community.
Their first stop was the Tree of Life Synagogue, where 11 Jewish Americans were murdered during a baby-naming ceremony Saturday morning. Accompanied by Rabbi Jeffrey Myers, President Trump and the First Lady walked alongside one another, placing a white flower and small stone on each of the 11 stars erected in a makeshift memorial outside the synagogue. Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner followed a few steps behind, pausing at each star.
Inside the synagogue, the President and First Lady lit candles for each of the 11 victims.
Before leaving Pittsburgh, President Trump visited with wounded law enforcement officers and injured victims at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center’s Presbyterian Hospital. “These were very brave officers. These are incredible people of law enforcement,” the President said after the attack on Saturday. “They’re really unsung heroes.”

‘Rabbi’ At Mike Pence Rally Thinks Jews Who Deny Christ Go To Hell
Loren Jacobs invoked Jesus in praying for the Pittsburgh synagogue shooting victims.
By Daniel Marans
The Christian “rabbi” who offered a prayer for the weekend’s victims of neo-Nazi terror at a rally with Vice President Mike Pence on Monday believes that Jews who do not accept Christ as their savior go to hell….
“No Jewish person is going to appear before God and say, “Judge of the whole Earth, I’m not responsible for not believing in the Savior you sent to us. I never knew.” Or, “Master of the universe, I didn’t like the way Yeshua was presented to me. Besides, my Rabbi told me not to believe in Him, so it’s not my fault.” These excuses won’t be accepted! We are responsible for choosing the spiritual leaders to whom we listen. We are warned not to listen to false teachers. If the blind mislead the blind, so that both fall into a pit, both are responsible.”

Was in synagogue for a 6-week Tuesday night course, “Wrestling w/Faith.” Ironically, Lesson 4 is titled, “Finding Comfort: Seeing G-d Through the Blinding Pain.” Our Rabbi invited the class to bring guests to that one. For the first time since coming to this shul, the doors outside were locked. As our classroom has windows, a latecomer came & knocked on the window (the security ID doorbells haven’t been installed yet). Some people jumped; luckily, I was facing the window & could see her face.
It is a sad day, indeed, when doors to a house of worship need to be locked (of course, this has probably, earlier, been the case for other denominations after the A.M.E. shooting.
Then, another person (yesterday, I believe) attempts to get into an African-American church & cannot, so he goes to a Kroger & shoots & kills a man & a woman (both African-American), telling a white gunman who confronts him, “Put your gun down” or “Don’t shoot me.” Last part, direct quote, because I can’t get this out of my head, “White men don’t shoot white men.”
& this: some long-time tenants of ours destroyed our house & bailed mid-month (their lost security deposit in no way begins to cover the amount of damage they did).
There was a Confederate flag in the basement. Some people don’t think I’m crazy that I’ve made some connections; they were ok for 10 years…
