The Intercept runs down a list of the most egregious lies told by Brett Kavanaugh to the Senate Judiciary Committee last week.
The issue is no longer what did or did not happen in the summer of 1982, but whether Kavanaugh can answer a straightforward question without deflecting, or being evasive p, or throwing the question back at the questioner.
The issue is whether he is honest.
What was most impressive about the testimony of Christine Blasey Ford is that she tried to answer every question to the best of her ability. When she didn’t know the answer, she said so. She was not evasive or defensive. Even those who were inclined to disbelieve her recognized that she was candid and honest.
The same cannot be said about Kavanaugh. He was arrogant, belligerent, condescending, and evasive.

No to Kavanaugh!

Are there any differences between Donald Trump, Betsy DeVos and Brett Kavanaugh?
Yes, the only difference is that Betsy DeVos allegedly didn’t attempt to pay any beauty queens or porn stars for sex and/or to attempt to rape or rape any girls when she was in high school and college. Any witnesses out there?

Well, DeVos is the only Trump nominee that the Democrats have so far unanimously voted against. What do you think are the chances of that happening again?

If Blazey had been arrogant, belligerent, condescending evasive and snarky, Kavanaugh would have been confirmed immediately after the hearing. Brett, on the other hand, has the entitlement to be all of those things and a liar, which his calendar substantiates. Brett’s entitlement is class privilege, being male and White.

Linda, how does his calendar substantiate he’s a liar?

Because he has claimed that he “never” attended a gathering with the people that Ford listed as present the night she was assaulted. His calendar shows that on July 1 he attended exactly such a gathering. (Which date, incidentally, is roughly 7 weeks before Mark Judge worked at Safeway, which corroborates Ford’s testimony that she ran into him while he was working 6-8 weeks after the assault.)

M. L. Thompson,
“Republican women are as sexist as Republican men.” As one example, they agree with the religious right’s Foster Freiss, that birth control is an aspirin between women’s legs. Their view threatens to return women to their powerlessness in the1950’s. They accept their daughters in the situation of Josh Duggar’s wife. It is not what I want for the daughters and granddaughters of America. The fact that two Yale law professors who vetted law clerks for Kavanaugh, allegedly told female students they needed to dress like models to get the job and, the fact that the women staffers shown in the hearings were young, in high heels and skirts or dresses, was telling.
I remember frigid winters on a college campus in the midwest, when girls were required to wear skirts on campus at a state university. It predated the warmth that knee high boots now provide. It was a miserable condition inflicted on women, and spared the men.

There is likely little similarity between WiW and inventors like Gates who attended highly competitive private schools and, who was the son and grandson of lawyers.
The intent of WiW’s statement is to deny Blacks and women, access to education and opportunity, returning the country to the past when WiW thinks he would have advantage.
The tragedy of WiW is he accepts that six heirs to the Walton fortune have wealth equivalent to 40% of Americans combined, that the richest 400 have wealth equivalent to 62%. It strangles economic opportunities for all of us, but WiW is focused on and has bought into the Koch’s “freedom and liberty” PR which is bait and switch for control by men like Gates. He lets the rich fuel his anger at his economic loss against those in his same situation. And, he doesn’t hold the rich accountable for creating his loss. He prefers to resent those close to him, not those in the wealthy enclaves, far removed from him.

At least 5 counts:
1) Legal drinking age in Maryland
2) What his friends exactly said about the incident
3) His drinking habit and experience in school years
4) His references to sexual references in fraternity club and beyond
5) His connection to Yale University
Oh, and one more.
He also lied under oath when facing questions about receiving confidential information from Orrin Hatch’s staff, who stole a judicial nominee document from Democratic Judicial Committee in 2003/2004
More of his former Georgetown Prep and Yale classmates came up and said Kavanaugh is dishonest about his drinking behavior.
I hear some people singing “Kavanaugh Blues.” I need lyrics. Anyone?
Thank you.

Apparently, the “professional” (Rachel Mitchell) who was hired to question Ford, does not think Ford’s answers were worth anything. https://www.axios.com/brett-kavanaugh-rachel-mitchell-prosecutor-memo-2c3233cc-1d42-416b-
No case. That’s what the “professional” stated in her memo.

Twenty Million Witnesses Come Forward Claiming They Saw Kavanaugh Lie Under Oath
By Andy Borowitz
October 1, 2018
WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—As the F.B.I. hurries to complete its supplemental background check of the Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, twenty million witnesses have come forward claiming that they saw Kavanaugh lie under oath.
According to the witnesses, they can remember the place where they saw Kavanaugh lie, a hearing room in the United States Senate, and the exact date and time, this past Thursday afternoon.
Despite the striking similarity of their stories, the twenty million witnesses to Kavanaugh’s mendacity said that they were having trouble getting in touch with the F.B.I., even though lying to the Senate is a federal crime and thus within the Bureau’s jurisdiction.
“I called my local F.B.I. office and was told to call the Bureau’s toll-free tip line,” Harland Dorrinson, a resident of Toledo, Ohio, said. “I did that, but the mailbox for Kavanaugh tips was full.”
Carol Foyler, a Mobile, Alabama, resident who said that she, too, witnessed Kavanaugh lie under oath, expressed frustration at the artificial deadline of the F.B.I.’s probe. “One week is not nearly enough time to interview twenty million people,” she said.
In Washington, Senator Lindsey Graham furiously rejected the witnesses’ version of events, arguing, “This is a classic case of he-said/twenty million said.”
“If lying in the United States Senate is a crime, none of us is safe,” Graham added.

Lindsey Graham said today on FOX news that if Kavanaugh is rejected, Trump should nominate him again. Then let the voters decide by making his fate a campaign issue in states where Democratic Senators are in danger.
His language and demeanor show he is unhinged.

The most obvious lie is the idea that we’re expected to believe that “boofing” has anything to do with flatulence. Please. Because teenage boys frequently devote space on their yearbook pages to asking each other if they’ve farted? Is there some Catholic doctrine I’m not aware of that forbids farting before marriage? Is there a legal farting age in Maryland? Sheesh. I’m sure every middle school teacher on the planet has heard better snow jobs than that. Heck, probably most kindergarten teachers.
It may seem like a small and insignificant lie, but I think it’s larger than it seems. Even if we believe that “boofing” didn’t mean the same thing in 1982 that it does now, it’s still clearly a reference to something to do with sex and/or drugs/alcohol, and that’s why BK had to lie about it. If he admits it he undercuts his whole saintly virginal choirboy act. But ironically, by denying it he does the same thing. So it’s not just a lie about some stupid juvenile reference, it’s a lie that goes to the heart of his character.

Boofing is defined in the Urban Dictionary. It has something to do with the rectum and it is not flatulence. Apparently Kavanaugh assumes that his critics don’t have access to google.

I’m even willing to consider the possibility that it didn’t mean that back in 1982. After all, Urban Dictionary is quite new. But still, there are many possibilities for what it might have meant back then, but flatulence is clearly not among those possibilities.

I don’t understand why this elite private high school allowed such sexually explicit talk to be printed in their year book. My high school [public school] would never have allowed such a thing to happen.
Boofing and Devil’s Triangle should never be printed in a yearbook.
My goodness, calling for explicit fun with a young high school lady from another school is acceptable? Why? What were the adult instructors in charge of the yearbook thinking?
Why would parents want this to occur? Are they all that ‘out to lunch’ concerning what their kids were doing?

Not to mention the alcohol references. My senior year some guy signed his picture with “GD/TQ/LK”. TPTB figured out that GD was Genuine Draft and TQ was tequila (I don’t know if they figured out what LK was). Even those small initials were removed. I can’t imagine anyone being allowed to put “100 kegs or bust”. I mean, that’s pretty unambiguous.

People will believe what they wish to believe, depending it seems not on objective truth but upon party bias.
My bias;
Dr Ford has NOTHING to gain and EVERYTHING to lose by coming forward.
Judge K has EVERYTHING to gain and little if anything to lose by his testimony.
Dr. Ford ASKED for an FBI investigation to fill in the gaps she could not remember.
Judge K said he would do what ever the “Republican dominated” committee wanted including an FBI investigation \
BUT
when Senator Durbin asked him to ask the president, the one by whom an investigation had to be instigated would NOT ask for one.
WHAT A DIFFERENCE.
This is not talked about much and obviously does not PROVE anything but it DOES give one serious pause as to who MAY be telling the truth.
The abject unmitigated hypocrisy of the Republican party now in rushing through this nomination is nauseating.
Judge Garland, a moderate by most accounts and should have been acceptable to both parties nomination was not brought to the floor for a vote.
Now, a deeply Conservative judge is nominated even further dividing the nation -, which seemingly does not concern the Republicans and is rushed through before a new election MIGHT change things.
Too; from my standpoint Judge Gorsich and probably Judge K are not legitimate judges as they were appointed by Trump who does NOT represent the American people by nearly 3 million votes. Ergo, how can these judges represent what the American people wish?
Trump got into the White House because of our laws, not because of the will of Americans..
