Gubernatorial candidate Cynthia Nixon released her education plan, which would add funding to reduce class sizes and fully fund schools. Her slogan: “Schools, Not Jails.”
Cuomo spokespeople blasted her for being a front for “parent advocacy groups,”as if that were a bad thing. It’s not.
Cuomo’s education policies are controlled by hedge fund managers, billionaires, and Wall Street advocacy groups. That is a very bad thing.
Howie Hawkins and Jia Lee (one of NYC’s best known Opt Out organizers) are also running for Governor and Lt. Governor and they have an extremely well thought through and sustainable plan on education.

A stock transaction tax of a fraction of a cent on every stock transaction would fund our NY State schools and repair our infrastructure. But most NY legislators and the governor are so in the pocket of Wall Street that they won’t consider it, despite the fact that it would not significantly affect stock investors.

Too reasonable, eh!
It really shows how far our politics have fallen that a celebrity with no experience whatsoever appears to be the better candidate.
Her proposal never mentions class size.
To the pitchforks!
Sign I recently saw on overpass bridge: Classmates not Cellmates
Cynthia Nixon is allegedly working with parents to improve the public schools while Cuomo is clearly owned by the hedge funds and is working with them to increase their profits at the expense of teachers, children, and parents.
Nixon can beat Cuomo, in my humble opinion. Grassroots beats astroturf nowadays.
I hope so. It would really help if she had the support of any known Democrats though (Ro Khanna doesn’t count since he endorsed “both” – what a wimp).
Agree. It would also be nice of Bernie Sanders would endorse her.
Nixon’s policy and slogan is just too damn simple. . .
. . . and right and sensible and doable, and good for the kids, and. . .
I think you get the idea.
Ms. Nixon is a breath of fresh air. No double talk just the facts and I am so glad to hear her speak and know that she cares about all New Yorkers. Hats off to her and for once the children and families do matter.
I love her ad; it gives me goosebumps, & it’s to-the-point: she a mother who cares about the future of hers & all children. Simple yet speaks volumes.
I do hope Bernie stumps for her.
Also, Floridians, please support Tim Canova, who stands for everything we believe in, & against the worst of what’s going on in this country, especially & including DINO betrayal
(like Cuomo). Tim is running against the infamous Debbie Wasserman Schultz, who IS, indeed, the worst of the worst DINOs, & who has been instrumental into destroying the roots of the Democratic party.
