This is Carol Burris, the Executive Director of NPE, a national organization of which Diane is President. NPE fights to preserve public education, a pillar of our democracy.
School Choice Week has begun. It is a well-funded campaign supported by Betsy DeVos’s American Federation for Children, the Koch Brothers, the Walton Foundation, ALEC and others in order to promote vouchers, charters, virtual schools and schemes like ESAs and tax credits.
During School Choice Week, our Governors will be bombarded with emails and phone calls extolling the virtues of School Choice. The intent is to fund private schools with public tax dollars. Send your email in support of Public Schools. Then share this campaign on social media.
Here is the link where you can find that email.
It will take you less than a minute to do. Don’t let Diane down. She is counting on you to take a moment to fight the school choice scam.

And, this is what it means. Teachers and administrators scrambling for the last crumbs they can possibly get. School choice means, getting away from the crumbling institution that used to produce well-rounded students graduating to tackle the rigors of higher education.
People have grown tired of educators whose only premise is to train the next generation of protesters. Common core, NCLB, GOALS 2000 and America 2000 has been rejected by the majority, yet, teachers continue to teach this stuff. If you know nothing about America 2000, do not feel alone. It is an obscure education program, that only has a mention. America 2000 is the forerunner of what we have now. This was the brainchild of Bush 41, before it became GOALS 2000 (Clinton).
To top this off, this article references the Koch Brothers. Curiously, Tom Steyer, who is on your side of the fence, does not care about education. Neither does my Clown Governor. He is too busy trying to get Cap and Trade, to be concerned about education. To him, it is nothing but a political football to gain votes. Teachers and unions fall for it every time.

Our governor is now Phil Murphy and NO LONGER Chris Christie. Please, Carol, change the NPE site. I wrote to our new gov: “A great deal of propaganda is going round this week to promote so-called school “choice.” The intent is, in fact, to fund private schools with public tax dollars. I oppose that idea. People can certainly send their children to private schools, but not on my dollars. What’s critical is to fund adequately our public schools, which are the backbone of our democracy.” PL

Hi Phil, the problem is not the NPE site. It is Action Network that NPE uses. They have been notified and have updated the information.
