School Choice is the hoax of our time. It proposes a system in which schools choose students. It increase racial and economic segregation. It does not improve education. It favors the haves, not the have nots.
It is a hoax.
For more about the hoax, read Phyllis Bush on the failure of “choice” in Indiana.

Reblogged this on David R. Taylor-Thoughts on Education.
To choose, or not to choose
That is the question (naw, not really)
Whether ’tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune [low test scores]
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles
And by opposing [poor testers] end them. To lie, to cherry pick–
Yes more! -and by a cherry pick to say we end
The heartache [ reduced funding] and the thousand natural shocks [Diane Ravitch et al]
That Success is heir to. ‘Tis a con-$ummation
Devoutly to be wished. To lie, to cherry pick –
To cherry pick–perchance to $cheme ay, there’s the nub
For in that cherry pick what $cheme$ may come…
“To choose or not to choose — students, that is”
