John Merrow writes here about an organization that he greatly admires: FAIRTest.

There is much misinformation about testing in the blogosphere and everywhere else, much of it promoted by testing companies and by accountability hawks who never saw a test they didn’t admire.

FAIRTest is having its annual bash in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on October 26. It will honor Barbara Madeloni, the fearless leader of the Massachusetts Teachers Association, and John H. Jackson, leader of the Schott Foundation for Public Education, one of the very few foundations that understands the importance of public schools. They will receive the Deborah W. Meier Award as heroes of education.

If you live in the area, please attend and support this wonderful organization!
