Ah, Trump and his tweets.
This morning he attacked Republican leaders (again), and he tweeted a series of images showing him “eclipsing” Obama. He is obsessed with Obama and has a deep personal need to assert that he is way, way better than his predecessor. He must sense that millions of people far prefer Obama to him, which pushes Trump to double down on his ridiculing of Obama.
The military also announced that it is beginning to develop plans to oust transgender service members and to bar them completely in the future, because Trump tweeted an order.

There are so many great responses to this to be found on the net. Lots and lots of brilliant stuff. My favorite is this tweet: “This is actually correct. The Darkness of Trump has overtaken the brightness of Obama. The Sun is what gives us life and energy!”

The “brightness” of Obama?? What was so bright about him? Had he been remotely bright, maybe we wouldn’t have to have Trump. But Obama offered nothing besides empty promises and excuses for failure as he steadily moved us ever more toward neoliberalism.

I don’t and won’t take a back seat to you in my overall disappointment in many of his administration’s policies, especially education. But he never embarrassed the nation. He tried, however imperfectly, to make a difference in our national dialogue about race, decency, and how we treat the weakest and least fortunate among us. Was he too late on issues like prison reform and environmental regulation? Yes. Was he wrong on Wall Street? Yes. Did he inherit the worst situation this nation was in with the exception of Lincoln and FDR? Was I disappointed that he wasn’t stronger on single payer health care? Absolutely.
But he was a head of state we could count on to at least look at every issue thoughtfully—sometimes too thoughtfully which led to delayed action. Was he respected by other heads of state? Yes.
I am not an absolutist or ideologue. I am a pragmatic social democrat. I understand that politics is about standing firm and compromising to get things done. I also think I have a sense of humor, and I found the tweet above to be funny, not a statement of ideology. Although I don’t think Obama was, by any stretch of the imagination, perfect, I would give all I have if I could replace what we have now with him. Hell, I would take Dubya—but without Cheney.

I agree with both of you. But let us face it dismal democrats tuned the Nation Red and I wish I meant socialist. I would love for someone to point out what policy he pursued, even when he had a supper majority that was progressive and please do not tell me it was Romney care.
But my progressive whining did not elect Trump ,Obama and Clinton did . After all who were those voters to believe about their standard of living Obama or their Wallet.

I believe tRump is getting more and more frustrated by the lack of support that most of the country is showing. Apparently there was a small show of support (2,000 at most) but tRump stated in a Tweet that 15,000 had come. I miss the days when we had a President who could talk in sentences that made sense.

I Have No More Patience for Trump Supporters
By Charles Pierce, Esquire
24 August 17
Last night in Arizona, Trump came right up to the edge of inciting you to riot and you rode along with him.
Trump: “…And — and I say it, and you know, we’re all pros. We’re all, like, we have a certain sense. We’re smart people. These are truly dishonest people. And not all of them. Not all of them. You have some very good reporters. You have some very fair journalists. But for the most part, honestly, these are really, really dishonest people, and they’re bad people. And I really think they don’t like our country. I really believe that. And I don’t believe they’re going to change, and that’s why I do this. If they would change, I would never say it. The only people giving a platform to these hate groups is the media itself, and the fake news…These are sick people. You know the thing I don’t understand? You would think — you would think they’d want to make our country great again, and I honestly believe they don’t. I honestly believe it. If you want to discover the source of the division in our country, look no further than the fake news and the crooked media…”

Trump’s incitement is not only a threat to the First Amendment and freedom of the press, it is an incitement to violence against journalists. Someone could get killed. Trump would have blood on his hands.

One suggested correction: Trump HAS blood on his hands. It’s only a matter of time until we learn how much it will be.

That’s the only blood he has, the blood on his hands. There is no blood inside his body. Instead of blood, his cold, dead heart is pumping toxic waste to his brain and organs.

I understand that TRUMP’s tweets about transgender people serving in the military have been fact checked. He has lied about the cost of medical treatment and about fitness to serve.
I understand that lawyers are working on language–formulating policies– because these will need to be defended against lawsuits. The role of the military in policy formation is scrambled by Trump’s fiats by tweets and status as Commander in Chief. What a mess. The man is dangerous.

Trump’s henchman, Roger Stone made menacing comments against members of Congress: Roger Stone, a former Trump campaign advisor who still counsels the President says if Congress impeaches Donald Trump, there will be all-out war in the U.S.
TMZ aired a video of Stone at LAX Wednesday in which he warned any politician who’s thinking of voting for impeachment to think again, because their lives would be in danger.
He goes on to say “both sides” are heavily armed and bloodshed would be inevitable. TMZ is a trashy site/show but those are Stone’s words. Stone said: “You will have a spasm of violence in this country, an insurrection, like you’ve never seen. The people will not stand for impeachment. A politician that votes for it will endanger their own life.”
