ProPublica had performed a public service by obtaining the financial disclosure forms of top appointments in the administration. Take a look at those who are special assistants to Secretary DeVos. Each form lists previous jos held outside the federal government.
Several worked in the Trump campaign. One came through a Koch brothers organization. Another worked for DeVos’ American Foundation for Children. One was a program officer at the Gates Foundation. Another was an Uber driver. Another has no previous employment history. One came from the Thomas B. Fordham Institute.
One thing jumps out: other than working in voucher advocacy organizations, none has any experience in education. Or at least none they don’t acknowledge it if they did.
None was a classroom teacher or administrator. None was a State Commissioner of Education. None is a University scholar.
Betsy DeVos is surrounded by low-level GOP campaign workers and ideological bedfellows. And a former Uber driver.

As a resident of Pennsylvania I’ve been writing to Senator Toomey to complain about Trump’s nominees, especially Betsy DeVos. He has continually defended the nominations and voted accordingly.
I sent a copy of this article to him and asked (remember, he was a Wall Street person before being a senator), “Would you hire a banker who can’t count?”

I find this interesting since the person that “disclosed” that he was an Uber diver,(Eck, Kevin) was the former director of operations for the Indiana Public Charter Schools Association as reported by USANEWS

there is no mention of this employment or salary in his disclosure and it seems that is not his only problem!

The Uber driver is a perfect fit for deVos’ office. Über perfect! Everyone from taxicab driver to teacher is to be replaced with someone who will work for no benefits with no job security and low wages, a “contractor” procured online. The Uber driver will lead the office by example until being replaced by a driverless office. I will be replaced by TFA contractors who will then be replaced in teacherless schools. I await my future occupation as virtual grizzly hunter contracted to protect the students’ avatars. Über geil!

I’m shocked that there is no dog or cat on the list. If there were, at least the dog or cat would probably be more honest in their thinking. Rub my back, take me for walks, don’t leave me locked up and alone, and feed me what I want is all the dog and cat would ask for.
