Bill Moyers’ website reports:
Showmanship –> On returning from his first foreign trip, Donald Trump touted the $110 billion weapons deal he’d cut with the Saudi government. But Bruce Riedel, director of the Brookings Intelligence Project, writes that “there is no deal. It’s fake news.” According to Riedel, “there are a bunch of letters of interest or intent, but not contracts. Many are offers that the defense industry thinks the Saudis will be interested in someday. So far nothing has been notified to the Senate for review.” And in keeping with Trump’s penchant for taking credit where it isn’t due, “none of the deals identified so far are new, all began in the Obama administration.”

Not fake news, outright lies buried in ego-centric PR.

Is there no end to it. And now he wants to tweet his way through the Comey hearing–giving an instant response to his “base” about whatever goes on there. The nightmare continues.

Sean Spicer just said he has a very busy schedule all day Thursday.
When asked what people should believe, Trump’s tweets or what cabinet officers says, Sean said, Trump is the president and whatever he says is policy.
So follow him.

Yes, Trump may be the President, but does Spicey even realize that we have three branches of government, the Executive, the Legislative, and the Judicial?
Trump is not the Emperor, no matter what he may believe.

dianeravitch Of course. Follow Trump. On the other hand, some in his cabinet have said not to pay any attention to the tweets. It’s a concerted effort at what AA calls “crazy-making.”

The worst part of the Saudi visit is that after America’s continuous involvement in the region since 1991.(53) . After 15 + years since 9/11, the death of almost 7 thousand American servicemen. 10s and 10s of thousands severely wounded, who will suffer for life. The deaths of 4 million people from the middle east due to military or other American policy initiatives (like sanctions that killed children), the American people are clueless about politics of the region. Politics which include racial divisions, which include the use of religion to maintain tyranny , which include American support for those tyrants.

Trump in translation: president’s mangled language stumps interpreters…The Guardian
…His idiosyncratic take on the English language is causing trouble for interpreters around the world. In Asia, where the middle classes pride themselves on their English ability, Trump’s fumbles are widely mocked. But translating Trump for almost two-thirds of the world’s population is causing chaos among translators.
When reports emerged of Trump’s justification for firing FBI director James Comey, interpreters in Japan were confronted with a tricky question: how to translate “nut job” in a way that would be suitable for broadcast.
They settled on henjin – a word more commonly used to describe an oddball or eccentric – having decided that the alternative, atama ga warui (stupid) was inappropriate for someone of Comey’s stature.
The outburst was the latest in a long line of comments, tweets and deviations from scripted speeches that interpreters in Tokyo concede have left them dumbfounded and struggling to retain their professional composure.
“It isn’t just his colloquialisms, but the demeaning way in which he talked about women, especially during the campaign, said Chikako Tsuruta, who regularly interprets broadcasts by US networks such as CNN, ABC and CBS.
“Interactions with world leaders have left interpreters scratching their heads about how to communicate what Trump is trying to say, when his speech baffles even native English speakers.” https://gu.com/p/6f8q5/sbl
