People across the country have found a constructive way to protest the anti-abortion views of the Trump-Pence administration. They are sending donations to Planned Parenthood and doing it in Mike Pence’s name. It is important to remember that Planned Parenthood is an important provider of women’s health services. The Republicans intend to defund Planned Patenthood.
The donations are, of course, ironic since Pence is an extreme anti-abortion, anti-LGBTQ evangelical Catholic. The new VP-elect has effectively led the GOP’s war on Planned Parenthood and completely defunded the women’s health organization in his home state of Indiana.
“I long for the day that Roe v. Wade is sent to the ash heap of history, when we move past the broken hearts and the broken lives of the past 38 years,” Pence said in 2011.
Well, count on women to reply to Pence’s scary anti-female rhetoric with some humor, wit and activism.
Artist Bethany Cosentino posted a genius screenshot to Instagram. “You can make a donation to Planned Parenthood in Mike Pence’s name and he’ll receive the certificate of the donation,” the post reads.
The post includes the address at the Indiana state house where Pence will receive notification of the gifts in his name to an organization he abhors.

The totalitarian, fascist, fundamentalist Christian segment of the GOP wants to get rid of Planned Parenthood because of abortions.
But abortions account for only 3-percent of nearly 10.6 million total medical services provided by Planned Parenthood.

This election has brought out the ugly in everyone. I am proud that I am not a Republican … OR a Democrat. This is an ugly way to fight. The timing is right for America’s day to honor MLK- A man of impossible courage and peace. I want to fight the way he fought.

In my state, you must register for a party to vote in the primaries, and that’s why I chose the Democratic party initially. Over the years, my formerly Republican husband also changed to Democrat. Honestly, if MLK were alive today, the GOP would have many horrible things to say about him, and while Democrats were not always on the right side of civil rights, they were indeed during the 60s and beyond. While MLK Jr is considered a “neutral” hero today, it wasn’t that long ago that Republicans fought tooth and nail to prevent a national holiday honoring him.

The contributions to Planned Parenthood in the name of Pence have been set up to last for four years. There is already one copy-cat venture inviting supporters of the LGBTQ community to contribute in the name of Pence.

Pence is no longer Catholic. He left the religion he was born into, and this is problematic even for his own mother. He’s more conservative than many Catholics.

Let’s really muddy the waters. Anyone who is and advocate for charters, vouchers and Education Savings Accounts should now be labeled as Pro-Choice. That should go over well.

I just happened to send a donation to Planned Parenthood last week. It was long overdue.
Used my own name like I do on this blog. I’ve got enough confusion remembering all my log ins, passwords etc..etc… already.
