Amazing list, also says a lot about how to buy access to politicians.

What a chamber of horrors of contributions.
Here are some things that stuck out: she contributed $26,000 to four of the members of the committee who will vote on her nomination (Richard Burr $5,400, Bill Cassidy $7,800, Lisa Murkowski $5,400, Tim Scott $7,400). If ethics existed, they would recuse themselves. We should all take note of the super softball questions (gushing praise) she will get from them. I’m sure she’ll get what she paid for.
She also contributed $2,600 to Mitch McConnell. In 2012 she gave $5,000 to Mitt Romney. For the 2016 presidential campaign she gave $2,600 to Bobby Jindal and then $2,700 to Marco Rubio (plus $5,400 toward his Senate campaign).
Still have to go through see which members of the Senate and House appropriations committee members plus which House Education Committee members she has time-shares with.

Story on Bill Cassidy’s conflict of interest. Reminded me that Betsy’s statement does not cover contributions by the rest of the clan. Together they contributed more than $70,000 to Cassidy: http://www.nola.com/politics/index.ssf/2017/01/bill_cassidy_no_plans_for_recu.html#incart_river_home

Is anyone surprised at this?
The major issue is her philosophy on public schools and how they should be
gradually replaced by charter/for profit schools. Democracy takes another hit.

It appears DeVos spends money to influence politics in lots of states, where she doesn’t reside, her kids don’t go to school and where she may not pay taxes, Louisiana, Ark., Ky., N.C., Nev., Alaska, Ohio, Ala., Fla., Iowa, Indiana, Illinois, N.H., Missouri, Wis.
Funny thing – while politicians take her, out-of-state, out-of-district money, the ones who have federal government office e-mail addresses, won’t allow comments from out-of-state citizens.
Further proof that the U.S. is an oligarchy.
