FBI director James Comey informed Congressional leaders that there would be no charges against Hillary Clinton, based on a new review of her emails.
e-11e6-ba59-a7d93165c6d4_story.html
Question: why did he rush to go public 11 days before the election? Why didn’t he conduct the review, then announce the Bureau’s findings?

Now hopefully I can resume Hillary bashing on Wednesday. She should go on a full frontal assault ,asking for an investigation of Giuliani and Trump trying to take the senate.
The best defense is a good offense . Put this clown back in the box.

The good thing for her supporters is that if she loses, she can now blame Comey AND Bernie Sanders. And Ralph Nader.

I’m with you. Brought to vote for Clinton kicking and screaming. But should she win, I hope she takes a few days off and does some reading on another New Yorker, Chester A. Arthur, learns some lessons, and focuses on governing, political appearances be damned. We need a president who is a civic educator more than ever. And the more she tries to govern, the more the emptiness of the congressional Republicans will be exposed.

Will the people calling for his head thank him for swiftly announcing this latest decision? Doubtful. He was a good guy when he didn’t push for her indictment (not the DOJ was ever going to do that) in July. Then a tool of Satan a couple of weeks ago. But, of course, his new decision will “prove” that she’s not only not guilty of any wrongdoing but completely INNOCENT. At least in the minds of her supporters. My sense is that she’s not yet begun to do wrong, unless she loses, in which case we can try to unite around the general agreement that Trump is a horror show. See? He’s a uniter, not a divider. Hillary, on the other hand, seems prepared to go down as the Eggplant That Ate Chicago (or at least the Democratic Party). Trump may be the death of the GOP, but it won’t be missed, because as currently construed and operated by the power elite, the DNC is the new GOP, minus the more obvious politically incorrect rhetoric.

Your reaction would have been the same: if he had found something incriminating, why did he wait this long to tell?
Either way, you would accuse him of trying to tank the election towards Trump.
He could not win either way.

Rudy, you are right. He violated long standing rules of the Justice Department not to interfere in elections.

Try again Rudy . Forget about rules and elections How about the basic rule of law. We do not accuse people of a crime till there is evidence of a crime being committed. We Indict then we try.
“No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, ” Got it, if not the Khan family can lend you their copy.
I want indictments of Giuliani ,of those insurgent FBI agents that leaked this to him .Of anybody else in his campaign that was part of this. This was as Ellen stated an attempt at “a slow motion coup “. The greatest threat to our Democracy ,since Adams used the Alien and Sedition acts to attack the opposition. Calling to lock up your opposition . Not accepting the results if you lose. On top of the aforementioned. .
I’ll take a life line from a History Teacher.
But I am sick of the Republicans who have a long history of being despicable s. . The only voter fraud there is, is their constant attempts to disenfranchise minority voters.
Richard Nixon approaches the North Vietnamese sabotaging the 68 peace talks, costing the lives of Thousands of American boys in
Vietnam, for 5 more years of war .
Uses former intelligence operatives to break into the opposition (Democratic ) parties Headquarters. Watergate. in an attempt to subvert an election and our Democracy.
Reagan , again sabotages the release of the hostages in Iran .
Then sells Arms to Iran to fund an illegal war in Nicaragua . How many lives.
This is not politics . It is Treason.
After the most incompetent defense of the Nation. One that cost the lives of 3000 Americans on 9/11 when he ignored the warning of his two top CIA officials. Who said I will quote; “they did everything but pull the trigger on the gun they were holding to Rice’s head to get her to get Bush to put the Nation on high alert and take action against Bin Laden ” . ” Her boss had bigger fish to fry “. Saddam Hussein.
G W Bush outs a CIA agent Valerie Plame because her husband’s report indicated there was no Yellow cake Uranium, no nuclear weapons program.
Not three mercenaries working for the State department killed by militants. But 3000 boys and a million Iraqis dead in a needless war
that blew up the entire region. Causing ISIS .
The Republicans have spent 35 Years trying to destroy this country. They want a Government that is crippled and can not function so that they and their Robber Baron overlords can loot it.
Since 92 seeking to insure that if they are not in power nothing gets done. Conspiracy and investigation and the only thing they ever came up with was consensual oral sex between adults in the White House.
On day one after Obamas election on the cusp of the greatest economic crises since the Great Depression what do they do hold a meeting to discuss how to see that Obama is a one term president and nothing gets done . Then they and the spawn of an Orangutan spend years trying to de-legitimize, discredit the citizenship of our first black president Deplorable is not the word. The words can not be used on this blog.
Conspiracy, watch what happens to Dirty Tricks Christie when the two convicted felons start making a deal to lighten their sentence.
Deplorable and despicable pretty much through and through as they all line up behind a lying ,narcissistic, fascist, demagogue who is mentally unstable. He could “shoot some one” ,no but he could call someones wife ugly and their father JFKs assassin and they would fall in line for the thought of screwing working class Americans .
Now Diane can I get back to Hillary bashing.

Dare I mention the Democrats and their majority in both house AND senate – and nothing happened!
As long as I have been following American politics, not much has changed. Both parties play the same games, one way or another. .
When I remember both Pelosi and Reed, as majority leaders, how their actions were clearly intended to leave republicans out, in their own words, not based on hype.
This is what happens in a 2-party system when neither side is interested in any kind of compromise.
When republicans started chanting “Never Hilary,” my first question was, “At what cost?”

Fire Comey! The damage has already been done. This BS story has dominated Hillary’s campaign. Most people believe she has done something wrong.
Here are statistics that came out today from the Washington Post:
“… Clinton’s supporters have frequently argued that the media is obsessed with her email issue and that it has garnered entirely too much coverage, constantly overshadowing the controversial things that Trump has said.
For what it’s worth, relatively few people seem to hold this view. A poll last week showed that 83 percent of likely voters think Clinton did something wrong with her email server, while 51 percent think she did something illegal….”

Trump has said repeatedly in speeches that she committed crimes and the email investigation would prove it. He said so before the computer was searched. Don’t expect an apology

Be honest. She did do something wrong. As stated in July, she was considered to be extremely careless with classified documents.

Extremely careless is not a criminal offense. Comey said last July that “no reasonable prosecutor” would see a case there.

I suppose she gave the coordinates to our weapons silos and possibly the enigma codes. Give me a break , I have problems with Clinton. The emails are the least of them. They are concoction of the demented Republican imagination and slime machine .
Same with the Foundation those millions went to a legitimate charity.
There is no evidence of a quid pro quo . The speeches no evidence
of a quid pro quo. So nothing is criminal.
it is a matter of influencing policy.
So Obama/Clinton have been a let down on the Charter issue . Yup all that big money. Republicans on the other hand will blow right by Charters and go straight to a national voucher program while they de fund public schools.
Hands down Id rather fight the charter issue .

So why is nobody talking about the charges that Donald Trump sexually assaulted a child in 1994. I can’t believe anybody would ever vote for that sorry excuse for a human being. Hillary had an email server and Donald Trump raped a girl, and which one of those stories has been on the front page of every newspaper? The media is being manipulated by the right wing wackos.

Here is what bothers me about the Hillary-haters. I support any disagreement in policy — she is certainly no Bernie. But why can’t we have an honest debate about the issues instead of avoiding it by instead talking about how she is so corrupt.
For the record, the Clintons intentionally brought in independent accountant/auditors to make sure there was nothing untoward going on with Band perhaps using the Foundation to enrich his own company. It’s clear they wanted the foundation to be clean because their intent in setting it up was to do good.
It is so absurd to think otherwise. Bill and Hillary didn’t need the foundation to get rich — they were already very rich. They set up the foundation to do good.
You can have a disagreement with her policies — as I do — without grasping at all these attempts to smear her as someone who has spent the last 30 years in politics with the sole desire to get rich.

Looks like Trump isn’t well liked in either Canada or England. I completely understand why.
This comes from the Huffington Post Canada:
More Than 80% Of Canadians Are Worried About A Trump Victory
The vast majority of Canadians are worried Republican candidate Donald Trump will win the U.S. election on Tuesday, believing his presidency would be bad news for Canada.
Eighty percent of Canadians said Trump would be “bad” for their country — the highest number since Insights West began polling on Trump in August 2015, the market research company said.
Even more — 81 per cent — said they were “very” or “moderately” worried about a Trump victory.
……………
This comes from today’s New York Times:
Burning Trump in Effigy on Bonfire Night: “The event, held Nov. 5 every year, celebrates the anniversary of a failed plot to blow up Parliament in 1605.
The town of Lewes, England, marked Britain’s annual Guy Fawkes Night, also known as Bonfire Night, with the burning of several political leaders in effigy, including more than one version of Donald J. Trump, as part of its annual celebration.
