TeacherKen (Ken Bernstein) posted a full transcript of Donald Trump’s press conference. It was annotated and corrected for misstatements. It is pretty depressing to read, I warn you. Lot of braggadocio and lies.

Slight correction. I posted a brief piece with a link to the complete transcript, which is by Philip Bump of the Washington Post
What a train wreck. Head spinning.
Boasting about personal finances in relation to relations with Russia and China. Relating all foreign relations to crude business dealings, getting paid.
Everyone and everything is a total disaster, except for him and a few things and people he is associated with, which are great, terrific and the best in the world.
Should never, ever have gotten this far.
Anti-intellectualism is there. In fact, it is of course all over. But the remark about the hacker being a guy with a 200 IQ who can’t get out of bed is priceless and a big reveal.
That conviction about laziness as a trait and intellectuals as either threats or incompetents. Hello, Hitler.
Keep thinking he’ll rip his mask off and reveal Andy Kaufman, or a giant Monty Python cartoon boot will squash him any second. A mere figment of the absurd.
Mr. Bill???
Please, I implore you and all that read this blog to change the narrative on this election. It’s not about the next insane thing the GOP candidate has done or whether or not his policies can make America “great again.” The only thing we all need to be talking about now is that one of the candidates running for President of the United States has serious mental health issues that make him unfit for any political office, let alone POTUS.
That’s it. Plain and simple.
There are many places to find the info. Below is from americanthinker.com:
The latest, fifth, edition (2013) of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM) has done an excellent job of revamping the definition of Narcissistic Personality Disorder by introducing a dimensional description of the disorder.criteria.
The narcissist …
Feels grandiose and self-important (e.g., exaggerates accomplishments, talents, skills, contacts, and personality traits to the point of lying, demands to be recognized as superior without commensurate achievements)
Is obsessed with fantasies of unlimited success, fame, fearsome power or omnipotence, unequaled brilliance (the cerebral narcissist), bodily beauty or sexual performance (the somatic narcissist), or ideal, everlasting, all-conquering love or passion
Firmly convinced that he or she is unique and, being special, can only be understood by, should only be treated by, or associate with, other special or unique, or high-status people (or institutions)
Requires excessive admiration, adulation, attention and affirmation – or, failing that, wishes to be feared and to be notorious (Narcissistic Supply)
Feels entitled.
Demands automatic and full compliance with his or her unreasonable expectations for special and favorable priority treatment
Is “interpersonally exploitative,” i.e., uses others to achieve his or her own ends
Devoid of empathy. Is unable or unwilling to identify with, acknowledge, or accept the feelings, needs, preferences, priorities, and choices of others
Constantly envious of others and seeks to hurt or destroy the objects of his or her frustration.
Suffers from persecutory (paranoid) delusions as he or she believes that they feel the same about him or her and are likely to act similarly
Behaves arrogantly and haughtily.
Feels superior, omnipotent, omniscient, invincible, immune, “above the law,” and omnipresent (magical thinking).
Rages when frustrated, contradicted, or confronted by people he or she considers inferior to him or her and unworthy
There really is nothing more we need to say.
Just help change the narrative.
The GOP candidate is not a bad candidate, or a least worse candidate, or whatever else keeps being said.
He is mentally unfit for the office.
For many reasons.
Period.
Or just check out Wikipedia for a simple explanation of NPD:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Narcissistic_personality_disorder
It couldn’t be made clearer.
Not to defend Trump, but I doubt you have the authority to diagnose anyone. And no one, not even a mental health professional, has any business diagnosing anyone over the internet. Let’s stop throwing around mental health diagnoses as this trivializes mental illness and marginalizes those suffering from it. Not, incidentally, that NPD is a mental illness (it’s a personality disorder), but still. Let’s leave diagnosis to the professionals in the proper context (if, in fact, we need mental health diagnoses at all, but that’s a whole nother discussion).
Over and out.
I’m sure Trump has mental health issues, as do many, many people. The degree of impairment or lack of adjustment for it is the question. From the outside Trump is highly functional, albeit for bad rather than good. So, it’s difficult to draw a clear line between common personality traits and illness, especially when dealing with a personality disorder.
Do I think he functions because everyone around him is to some degree nuts or an enabler? Yes. But look where this leads.
When you call out to fear and racism, you are followed by, and thus enable, fear and racism.
