Ken Bernstein reflects on the anti-Semitism of Trump’s followers, after reading an article by Jonathan Weisman of the New York Times. After the journalist tweeted the article by Robert Kagan about Trump and the rise of fascism, he began receiving a steady barrage of anti-Semitic tweets. These were not from Trump but from his followers.
Throughout the campaign, Trump has been slow to disassociate himself from the hate groups who admire him, not only the anti-Semites, but the white nationalists. The extremists who linger in the shadows feel encouraged by Trump’s war against “political correctness.” Most of the time, what he calls political correctness is simply treating people who are different from you with courtesy and civility.

Trump’s followers are intolerant haters who should be shunned and strongly opposed, as should Trump himself.
However, Robert Kagan should also be shunned, not because he is Jewish (that is anti-Semitism), but because he is a leading neoconservative ideologue, as is his wife, Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland. Neoconservatives such as they pushed for the illegal wars on Iraq, Libya, and Syria, and are key advisors to both Obama and Hillary Clinton.
Neoconservatives want more hundreds of billions spent every year on weapons, including nuclear weapons, while our schools, infrastructure, homeless and unemployed suffer.
Their war economy will never improve life for most Americans (except the war profiteers) but will make life horrible for millions of others around the world. They are most responsible for people outside the U.S. correctly considering the U.S. the greatest threat to world peace:
Womp! This Country Was Named The Greatest Threat To World Peace

This is why anything Robert Kagan and other neoconservatives say, including Hillary Clinton, must be treated with great scepticism. They are war-mongering extremists who have already caused immense suffering and misery all over the world while wasting precious human and financial resources in their reckless, insane pursuit of U.S. global domination.

Yes, spot on. The United States spews war and violence worldwide with its endless sale and dissemination of weapons. Is it any wonder American people at home can’t stop the proliferation of guns in our communities.

Yes. Yes. Yes. The war machine and the Federal Reserve banking system with all the corporations that grew up around them, the Military Industrial Complex, are sucking the life out of the American people. And when people are poor and oppressed, they turn to right wing despots to save them. (See Europe.) Bernie would have saved us from Donald the Dictator and the Hillary Rodham Complex.

For sure that is a component of the following of anybody who pursues demagoguery and appeals to bigotry. And not to diminish it . I suspect the Democrats have suffered from a bit of that as well .
I see no way to explain 85% and 90% of the Black Southern vote going to Clinton, with out throwing a bit of that into the number . Sadly racism may hurt Democrats because of a Black /Latin divide. At least Van Jones sees that as a potential problem pulling just enough of the Obama coalition out .
When I viewed Trump as a disaster for the Republicans who as Jimmy Carter said, “had no real Ideology”, I saw him as less dangerous than the ideologues. The best choice on several levels . As he consolidates support in the Republican party he has become far more dangerous . He will be Doumb Donald and drive an extreme right wing agenda. So unless the FBI releases its report before the Convention. I may have to reside myself to ANYBODY BUT TRUMP.

My own kid has spoken up against bigotry and racism on her campus. Most of her peers have either remained quiet on the sidelines or socially rejected and harassed her. She takes an incredible amount of backlash. A few with her started a club to combat hate, but hate always wins, good loses anymore. There just isn’t enough people of conscience and tolerance and I fear the bigots are going to win and destroy her. It is sad and I am constantly concerned. Racism and hate seems subtle yet deep on campuses and even more dangerous. Trump is just the tip of the iceberg.

Anti-Semitic comments are horrible and I DO think Trump appeals to bigots with his crazy attacks on Mexicans and Muslims- that in my opinion is definitely part of Trump’s appeal but if you listen to his speeches at those rallies he hits one point again and again- that the system is rigged and corrupt.
I won’t vote for Trump and I will vote for Clinton so no one has to persuade me. I think Trump’s completely lacking in character and I’m just temperamentally unsuited to all that bragging and lying and self-promotion- screams “con man” to me- but I wish someone would substantively address THAT PART of his appeal. The part about corruption and capture and system-rigging.
Perhaps Hillary Clinton should attempt to explain why she feels the US political system is NOT rigged and corrupt since that’s probably 80% of what Trump says when one actually listens to him. I mean, obviously people who are doing WELL don’t believe the system is rigged and corrupt- they’re doing fine with the status quo. The idea would be to explain to people who are NOT doing well.
Maybe it won’t work and all of this is irrational hatred and fear but it seems to me Clinton has to TRY to reach them or really what’s the point of having political debates at all if no one can ever be persuaded?

So here’s an edu-related story of corruption and capture:
“Sen. Richard Blumenthal has demanded “immediate action” after a BuzzFeed News investigation revealed that a government-approved watchdog had given its stamp of approval to an upmarket visa mill in Silicon Valley.
The college accreditor, the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS), had known for more than a year about serious improprieties at Northwestern Polytechnic University, a BuzzFeed News investigation found. But it allowed the school to maintain its accreditation.
“The investigation raises alarming questions about the Education Department’s lack of oversight of the organizations that accredit higher education institutions in our country,” the Connecticut Democrat said in a statement to BuzzFeed News. The Education Department needs to “crack down on no-good accreditors in order to protect the integrity of higher education in America.”
I don’t know- would YOU trust US “institutions”? It feels like everyone in the country is busy ripping off everyone else- like no one knows how to make money without stealing it.. I feel like Trump rose AMID a complete collapse of trust.
Is it worthwhile looking at WHY this creep is popular? Or not? I don’t know, but it seems like someone should at least think about addressing the part of his message that says our “institutions” are systemically rotted and full of scammers and thieves because college accreditors and the US Department of Ed are supposed to be reliable and trustworthy- a seal of approval ordinary people can depend upon for good information- and they don’t seem to be. They seem to be either asleep at the switch or complicit in these scams.

This is what I’m talking about:
“A project examining White House visitor logs shows the Obama administration has extended an open door to Google.
Johanna Shelton, Google’s director of public policy — in effect, the company’s top lobbyist — has visited White House officials 128 times since President Barack Obama took office in 2009.”
So the WH says some of those visits were for “reinventing government” although if that’s true one would think it would be the Google engineering folks rather than the Google lobbying army, but maybe this is PART of why the creepy Donald Trump’s rants about how the system is rigged hit home with what looks like the entire Republican Party.
It isn’t just “Obama Administration”either- Bush was “open door” to powerful people,”closed door” to everyone else too. When’s the last time any of you met with a “WH official”? Google bigwigs practically live there 🙂
What are people supposed to think when they see this? It’s rational to believe the system is rigged.

During the 2016 presidential election — the real election not the sham and fraud of the major party primaries, where only about 10% of registered voters vote, that selects the candidates the rest of us are allowed to vote for even though it is the 500+ members of the Electoral College that decides the next president (Remember G. W. Bush who lost the popular vote by about a million votes to Gore but won in the Electoral Collage and then GWB started two wars in the Middle East and one of them was based on lies of WMDs?) — the number of Americans that vote for The Donald will reveal just how many hard-core war mongering, racists and white supremacists there are in the United States. Then the entire world will know if the U.S. is a totally white dominated racist nation or not and a threat to any chance at world peace one day. If Trump is elected, I think that will be the first step toward the Apocalypse, because he will be the Antichrist.
If anyone challenges my allegations that Trump could be the Antichrist, read this from Bible Prophecy.net and this from Religious News:
